When I rode it the ride operator said before the launch, "Don't be nervous guys, I'll give you s countdown. 5," and then we launched. She completely messed with us
Shock4653 The airtime is weird. When you first hit the top hat, you get airtime, but when going over the top hat, you don’t get any, but while dropping off of it, you get airtime.
Agreed I wrote this in the back row like seven times in a row and got pretty extreme Air time every ride. Like I was out of my seat and moving forward. It actually scared me the first time was so unexpected
I think the only reason you don't get airtime on the top hat is because of how rounded it is... it isn't like most top hats in the fact that it is a constant curve rather than a sudden pull over...
I only rode it once, and it was night, and guess what, they gave me front seat, how lovely. still one of my favourites still today, great loop, the first launch is really powerfull, its a pretty good launch, i have to problem with the lenght i think the 3 launches and the backwars part and the loop really make it a strong ride. i really didnt mind the stop, i mean come one 2 launches for a stop? heck yeah! and you do get airtime on the top hat, not on top, but when you exit it, just like you get airtime on drops like fury or something, you get airtime in the drop, but on FT just not on top. and the fun about the top hat, is that you can just get that really cool view (i mean its a very pretty park and you get such good views and the park has a really nice California charm). but you do get a quite nice view, it may not be very intense like you might have expected it, but it certainly is nice and relaxing, and then you go down with a bit of airtime. maybe you should not hate the parts that you don't like, i remember how you didn't like Superman EFC launch since its too long? i mean what? and you were angry you couldn't film the launch from the que? i mean superman is a nicely themed coaster with a great powerfull nice and long launch with great views. i dont get why a lot of times you can't enjoy a coaster anymore just because a few things are bad, i mean that you really complain about it.i have no problems with full throttle since the rest of the ride is just awesome, definately, Premier Rides masterpiece. i am looking forward to the riddlers revenge review since you haven't actually talked much about that ride, not on social media, nowwhere really, and i hope you liked it since its a really good coaster.
There was so much potential, like look at the terrain around it. Full Throttle could have been Six Flags' Maverick , I honestly believe that . Unfortunately the company is just not seeing it , they're looking at the money instead of the customers. Oh well , i still love it and it is at my home park so whatever .
I absolutely love full throttle. I ask to ride in the back because there you actually do get a pop of air time coming down the top hat, just before the brakes. I also find the backwards launch to be quite fun. IMO row 7 gives the best ride by a long shot. You definitely dont get as much air time in rows 1-6 To be honest, my only gripe is the brakes at the end being so far up the final drop
Got my first ride in and was assigned row 7 and got ejected after the top hat and immediately slammed back in my seat when we hit the breaks. This coaster is so much fun.
I love this ride so much. The only reason why I have only been on it 3 times is because there is always a long line. Last time when I went, it was the luckiest moment. Me and my friend decided to go on this ride and we only waited 20 minutes. When we were waiting on the ride before the left turn to the station, the line was completely full, and it looked like a 2 hour wait.
the thing is, the supports are strategically placed based on where the force is going, so if you have hangtime on the loop, it could be dangerous to have airtime on top of it since the hangtime pulls the track down and airtime lifts the track up, these opposing forces could have unsafe, if not disastrous results.
I give it a 5 considering I had to wait in line 1 hour and only got one ride, similar to what happened with Taylor and X2. The real score would probably be a 7. This was the coaster I rode in 2015 that let me complete my bucket list at the time, so it is special. But I'll only ride it again if the wait is 20 minutes or less. And from what I remember, this coaster doesn't even open when the park does. Most people run to TC, then come back here and the line is long. If this coaster does open with the park, then I'd probably tell people to go here first, or X2. If you go clockwise around the park, you can hit X2, Tatsu, Apocalypse, If you go counter clockwise, you can hit Full Throttle, TC, Goliath, Scream, Batman, Riddler's Revenge.
Fun fact I actually did get a rollback on this. I didn't expect much from this ride but it actually was a really fun in fact I think it was my favorite ride at Magic Mountain granted this was before Twisted Colossus. I will say your experience is a little different from mine in the back row I got some pretty extreme Air time going down the final drop. Not over the hill but when you were going down. Yes it was brief but I was legitimately out of my seat and I got it every single Back row ride.
I've only ever been on it at night in the back seat. Every single time I'm there that's how it plays out. It's fun though. I'd probably rank it just above Goliath and right behind Viper, Tatsu and TC. (I know right, Viper? Gasps! But I love it, it's a classic)
We got stuck in the launch tunnel for 15 minutes when I rode the thing. Go figure. Just a bunch of strobe lights for 15 minutes straight x_x On the plus side, it was dark when we got out and got to see L.A. when we went over the top hat.
I guess I was lucky, then. When I rode this in August 2015 they weren't assigning rows (probably b/c the longest line that day was like 10 minutes for X2), but I also noticed that I didn't feel like we were gonna roll back on the loop. Could it be because the train was 90% empty everytime? Also what did you think of the smoothness? Congrats on 40k subs!
I always get airtime or ejector air every time I go over the top hat. That may be because I loosen the seat belt a little, since the ride was designed without them, but I am definitely out of my seat every time.
I live right next to magic mountain and I go every weekend so ive rode every ride about 40 times and this tatsu,x2,drp o doom, and twisted collosis are definitely my favorites this should be rated 9 because the only part I sondt like is how short it is
3:44 Um?? Every single time my brother and I have been on this ride, we both fly off of our seats and into the lap-bar. One time, I swear I was going to come out and my jacket even flew over my head. We've always sat in the back cart, so it's weird you didn't experience it even once.
This is a ride that I NEED to go on but can't because no $. I say I need to do it because the opening day was my birthday of freshman year in high school.
I don't know what you're talking about with there being no airtime on the top hat. Both times I've been on it (once back and once front), I feel like I'm getting thrown out of my seat on the back half of the top hat and I'm way heavier than you. But then again you also claimed there's no floater air on the bunny hill on Goliath, so...
"So there's not much [theming]" Pretty much par for the course with Six Flags TBH. It's pretty much expected for most Six Flags rides these days to have minimal to borderline nonexistent theming, even in the queue and station. LOL.
This was the first roller coaster I tried in the park thinking meh...😒🙄this isn’t gonna be too hard(It’s the first one and in front of the entrance)... then my lungs left my body. It’s awesome and powerful!!!🤣🤣🥴🥴
I honestly didn’t like Full Throttle that much. The launch and loop were both amazing, but it’s incredibly short, and there’s absolutely no airtime on the top hat.
Hey Taylor. I'm from Germany. I really want to go to this amazing park when I visit the LA in August. But the entrance fee is extremely high with 80$ per day. So for to days 160$. Do you think the price is fair? It's way above the fees in Germany / Europe. I hope you will answer my questions. Fynn, Hamburg
