Over here in England, we have a very similar ride, called the Waltzers. They will have a helper walking on the ride, helping the cars to spin faster.

Yes much faster. Starts off at a moderate speed then after a while the speed increases to it's maximum speed. And most Waltzers have a flatter side rather than an even spread of hills like the TAW.

one way to slow the spin down is just push the bar up a little bit. it acts as a brake

i went on this ride i kept scream"BLOODY MURDER" and toward the end i prayed when the ride was over i was still on it with my eyes closed and i was shaking
