Bus life is all about being on the road and constantly changing environment and location, so today we do the inevitable - move.
We are heading to Ballarat, Victoria only an hour and a half from where we are right now. This next location will be where we visit our engineer, get our roadworthy and do all final repairs and builds to make living in a converted bus as pleasant as we can.
In today's video we are:
* installing our new home security system to keep us and our belongings safe.
* We are changing filters and oils and giving the bus a service.
* And we are doing some small touches to make the place more beautiful and functional.
In 2024/2025 We will be taking our home on wheels around Australia to be a part of this epic trip get in touch via our email address below

Give your windscreen a polish with "0000" steel wool until smooth, don't rub hard in small spots. Apply a coat of Rainex and allow to dry then polish with a NEW microfibre cloth, re-apply another coat of Rainex and polish again with a NEW microfibre cloth. You will hardly need wipers as the water sheds so easily.

That sounds sick! But I'd be way too scared to scratch at our windscreen with steel wool!!!! Those things ain't cheap!

@@DiandSam it won't scratch your windscreen, just apply soft even pressure, works on chrome too. google it mate

Welcome to Ballarat. We're just outside of Ballarat, at Waubra, so know how wonderful it is seeing the wind turbines. In fact, we have a great view of them from our house. It is so relaxing watching them while sitting inside in the warmth. All the best, from another lover of rainy, overcast days.

Oh wow! that must be just magical! We probably drove right past you, maybe there were a few cute homesteads on the way! Have a great day :)

Hi Di and Sam. Di you have a great start with dogs and cows. What a bugger getting the bad weather moving day. Box trailer is a great idea. Really opens up the options. Arias looks like he was made for the front of the buss. You had the same response to myself with the change in landscape and windmills Di. What a bugger with the shelf. Smart fix with the turn buckle on the shelf Sam. I was looking at that bbq only yesterday Di you will have to tell me how great it is. Do you look like you’re living the life. That food looked yummy. Great video guys. Stay safe out there.

It seems to keep happening to, the rain is loving being a part of us moving the bus 🤣 you laugh or you cry! The bbq is amazing, I have to say I'm a concert, Sam has been eyeing it off for several years. But it can be easily moved once lit, catches embers meaning it's caravan park friendly, and the shape makes it easy to light and cook on! So I'm sold haha

@@DiandSam I think I’m definitely sold also as you just stated all the things I liked it for.

Looking at your steel cable to support the shelve i had a thought. That shelve is long and in the driving direction. So when you make an emergency stop or go up or down a steap hill things will start sliding along the shelve. Pick up speed and fly off the end. You might want to put a few deviders in so stop things from sliding too far.
@DiandSam
@DiandSam Месяц назад
Not a bad idea at all 😊 were definitely going to keep only a few things up there. And most in baskets, we are planning on building out the front more and closing the end of that off would definitely be wise.

Good Morning folks. Awesome video once more. I also love 'gloomy days' , even more than sunny warm days. They are very atmospheric! Nice to see the landscape changing as you traveled. And the shelving and the strip lighting was a good opportunity to learn and improve (really glad the strip lighting was ok Di, lol). Bracken is 'everywhere' here, so annoying at times. I think a box trailer, further down the track will be an awesome help. Sent through that info you were after BTW. Take Care, Susan xxx

We are the same! Awww I love your positivity :) I agree its all a learning phase for us, and each time we move it gets easier and safer which we are glad about. Yeh Braken is quite the pain as if you don't manage it it really can spread quick, i must say I kinda love the look of it though, but nasty stuff to walk through, especially with the fear or snakes in Summer! Oh yes I recieved it and already chatted to Sam!! I was meant to reply and I'm sure I don't have to tell you as you mentioned it in the first sentence of your email, I got busy and forgot to get back to it!!!! Have a lovely day

That's the same as me Barry, also nothing more satisfying than ticking off a list! We're so sorry to hear of your news friend, wishing you strength and wellness in your next steps ❤️ 💪 We are loving life on the road, it's given us a freedom like nothing we've experienced and a lot of joy 😊 can't wait to see some new places. Sadly a lot of the roads around Aus have huge undulations that bounce everything up and down. And then there are the potholes! We found everything had to be super secured, even when knowing we would be on a major road the whole trip. And sometimes it was super unexpected what was bad. It's definitely a learning exercise when one starts out 😀
@NE_Victoria_Australia
@NE_Victoria_Australia Месяц назад
I can imagine the occasional Kangaroo would do dreadful things inside a caravan or motor home if you had to slam on the breaks suddenly. I guess you just don't stop, but it is instinct to break when an animal runs out I suppose.

@DiandSam
@DiandSam Месяц назад
Yes it was definitely a bumpy ride, surpringly a lot was quite secure, but you are so correct we haven't had to do any sudden stops but I can see a few things potentially flying forward, so we will definitely work on it. and 100% before heading up to the wild north hahaha

Hi guys yes the traveling thinking you have secured and locked draws and cupboards only take the first corner and a draw slides open or things fall on the floor has I have to check twice now before moving off as now with a fifth wheeler you can’t see what’s happening good luck with the engineer I hope all goes well
@DiandSam
@DiandSam Месяц назад
Yes we're definitely at that learning phase of what is actually secure and what will need a plan B. Its hard navigating and mixing between what is functional and beautiful in a full-time home and what is practical and smart for travel! All the best and thank you for the well wishes legend.
