@@Garima-nb9sn I know it's wrong state Universities are doing this I went with my net certificate which I qualified in March 2023 I didn't took admission in PhD as I wanted to go for JRF but this year paper got cancelled and they said now new admissions will solely done on the basis of new system 🥺

It’s better to ask yourself which subject you’re more interested in? Which subject you love to study, topics of interest & research on more ? Because all subjects are good it’s totally dependent on the individuals interest

There always be a confusion about choosing a right subject because there’s no right subject especially in the field of arts. No subject guarantees a job, all you can do is look for colleges and see that if they provide vacancies or other opportunities in this subject. If you really love this subject and you believe that you can qualify the exam then do it anyways otherwise you should reconsider your decision
