It's so fascinating seeing the stagehands work before the actual show. They did incredible job, too! Both semifinals and the grand finals went with zero hiccups! Huge kudos to them!
Actually not 100% perfect - during the grand final performance a cable in the middle of the crate did not collapse. Kaarija ran into it with his head at the start of the part when he goes around with the camera in front of him, but you couldn’t tell unless you watched closely.
@@erictimm They didn't miss it. you can see in the grand final performance that a male dancer pulls on it after they come out of the cube, but the wire malfunctioned and was stuck. Käärijä told about this in an interview on Finnish tv.
These people also did well, but I felt it was much faster in The Netherlands. Here they still walk quietly on stage and there they really walked on stage. And looking at it, the acts in The Netherlands were much harder than here.
@@JakobTennisMB i guess only 150 people(stupid jury) cared about the vocals(and only vocals, they did not even consider the rest of their criteria...), the rest of the Europe fell in love with his performance, energy and the overall vibe he gave us... he was the best of the night for sure
You know it's the best performance and song when the public doesn't even know the language and still claps, screams and "'cha cha cha"s along! I love it!❤
Omg... I can just FEEL the nerves just from watching this 3 weeks later. Its the knowledge that that millions of people will be watching you and talking about you based on your performance, and its live so if you do anything wrong or mess up, then its all over. I can't imagine the stress kaarija mustve went through although I thank god that he seens confident enough to deal with it. Still it mustve been so nerve wracking... I could never do it.
What a performance, absolutely crushed it! Also, I find it fascinating how the production is done, as someone who studied media in college, I love seeing how each shot was captured, and the planning process and choreography must have been trimmed down to the second, as when I watched the performance on TV, I couldn't see any of this apart from maybe 1 or 2 in the audience, but this makes us all realise how much work goes into making this happen!
I remember seeing the stream and going "how the hell???" and this answered all my questions. Thanks for uploading! Gotta give the stage hands and camera operators some love!!!
I think in the original performance they were holding the strings of the boxing square. However, it's amazing to see how the performance evolved. Imo this was the best version of it, the crazy Käärijä being shipped all the way from Finland and destroying the shipping box while getting out of it 😂
The choreography is insane! I'm not the greatest fan of the song (and it's genre) but the complete package is amazing. The light-design, the graphics (I love the giant shadow), the 'story' with the props, the unhinged dancers giving it a 1000%, the colors. It's not just a spectacle, it's an art-piece.
Amazing! Thanks for sharing. Your video is one of the best that I’ve seen so far as you are near the stage, and I could also hear you and everyone sing Cha Cha Cha! Kiitos!
Thank you so much for sharing this! Is this the semi finals or finals performance? I struggle to tell. Also I would PAY to see a continuous stream view of the stage, I absolutely love seeing how it's done, it's so smooth
It's amazing to see how a show like this is created. All the people setting up the props and the dancing around with cameras and then quickly replace all the stuff on stage... it's awesome =p
No one gives those background dancers enough credit, they make it so much better. Their facial expressions alone were more entertaining to me than the actual winner in 2023.
I loved this on the night :) I'm now wondering which dance couple will be the first to incorporate something from this performance into their competition Cha Cha routine?!!
@@christianchan1144 I have already noticed some newly released songs that I feel sure will make the Strictly list. My rule of thumb is that if I can choreo a Cha Cha/Tango/Jive to it, then it's probably in! So far Dua Lipa's new one for the Barbie movie is, I reckon, a shoo in :)
The thing weighs like 25kg so it helps to have someone to balance when running like they were. However it is indeed a good question why they couldn't have some lighter camera setup... Plenty exist with more than enough quality.
There are many performances over as many days. The rehearsals, semi finals, more full rehearsals - these are ticketed, family day, jury day and finally the Final.
There have been thousands of songs in ESC history. There were always songs in the top 5 that I didn't like at first, but later understood why it's so popular. But I will never understand the Finnish contribution 2023.
