We have filmed a full van tour of our beloved luxury Fifer Touring L 6 metre campervan | motorhome, built in Scotland by East Neuk Campervans. Built on a 6 speed manual 130bhp Citroen relay panel van, (like fiat ducato & peugeot boxer with a webasto diesel heater heat & hot water, 230 amp leisure battery, solar panel, compressor fridge, 2 burner combi unit, oven/grill, fiamma wind out awning, bike rack, avtex tv, Maxview VuQube 2 satellite system.
This campervan allows us the freedom of travelling in all seasons, we actually do most of our travelling in the Autumn/Winter as I have lupus disease | SLE | We stay on campsites & caravan touring parks, Aires & wild camp out in nature. We like to walk | hike with our cocker spaniel dog "Charlie" taking in breathtaking scenery of the countryside and the coast. There is something so magical about driving through the mountains and tourist areas in a campervan. Buying local produce to take back and cook in the campervan, or stopping at an independent shop for coffee and cake helping to support the local economy. @@vansforthememories we’re really excited! It’s a pale grey colour (seems like all Ducatos are only available in various shades of grey, white, or black these days). In fairness it does look quite smart - although I do really like your red one! All being well with the DVLA we should pick it up in a couple of weeks or so 🤞

David spotted some things of interest there! He likes the way the drivers seat swivels with the table / cupboard behind. For a 12 year old van there was some impressive uses of innovation. Posh bog lol. Your bathroom is huge compared to the campers one. That was a very good and thorough tour of your van. Really interesting to see how people have different layouts. I like that thing in the middle of the back doors. I may have to make something like that for the back of the van to cut some draught!

Good informative video. I bought an new XL model last year ( really lucky to get it) and have been over to France and Spain for the winter. They have made a few changes since your model but the layout remains much the same. It certainly works for us. Great vans and great guys to deal with. Thoroughly recommend.

@Vans For The Memories Hi Em. Our is the light grey colour 6.36m long Citreon Relay model. We live in the Outer Hebrides and left for 6 weeks in Spain at New Year. I took all the equipment I.e. dashcams, Go Pros, drone etc etc intending to do a vlog. Enjoyed myself that much I hardly took a photo! No more January's in Uist for us. The van has two solar panels which kept the leisure battery topped up. The mains and diesel heating is superb so no problems at night. We also use Duvalays which are so good you don't want to get up in the morning. Look forward to seeing more of your videos. Ralph.

I’m amazed that I’ve never heard of that company and living in NE England it wouldn’t have been out of the way for us to travel there. We also own an East Neuk Fifer. Older than yours and the SWB. We absolutely love our van and can’t believe how much space we have. Ours has the slide out door to the washroom. Like a tardís! We park ours in our allocated parking spot and at just over 5 meters long it just fits! See you on the road maybe. Living the dream!!!!!

Hiya, lovely van and a good comprehensive tour, thoroughly enjoyed it. We have a Fifer Touring M which we've owned for nearly 3 years now, we specifically wanted 2 x long single beds in a mwb van and there wasn't anything suitable on the market down here in Norfolk so we had to go all the way up to Scotland to get a new one. We love ours Not many youtube vids about the East Neuks so thanks for making it. 👍

@@vansforthememories We are just amazed how much thought has gone into storage & layout etc in your van & the actually quality of workmanship/construction seems great, ours is shoddy compared to yours.. If we could choose again we'd never go with auto-trail or recommend them to anyone.. And we still haven't made any travel plans, how boring aren't we 🥴 x

@@sylviapage8572 aww thanks so much 😎 We can leave the bed 🛌 up & often do as we have the lounge area at the front. We travel with our cocker “Charlie” we have a folding crate that we use to secure him in transit, either by the sliding door or at the back between the bench seats. So works out well for us. 👌 It’s quite versatile which we love 💗 Glad you like it too 😁 Em 💜

@@MikeandTriciaOotnAboot that’s what we’re trying with our three and the points are on the floor. I initially asked for them behind the back seat cushions and they thought I’d gone mad! I will try them on the floor and then probably on the seats 😁. I’ll let you know how we get on. We haven’t been away in the new van yet, I’m just recovering from losing both my parents just 8 weeks apart. It’s been tough. Hopefully we’ll have a trip out next week to test everything before we head out on our long summer adventure. If I can get my head into gear to book somewhere! 😊

Hi 👋 I’m glad it was helpful to you 😎 We haven’t needed to get a new bottle since the discontinued calor bottles, a small bottle lasts us well over a year as it’s only used for cooking & when on EHU we use a small air fryer. From what I remember we looked into it at the time calor announced it & I think there was another company who’s bottle would potentially fit, not that we’ve actually tried it yet though 😊 🤔 Thanks, Em 💜

Hi 👋 I don’t think you can go wrong with a beige trim, although the patterns date but I quite like a more traditional look, but We’re thinking of getting some seat covers. we were in @Desmondsdonders coach built a couple of weeks ago & were amazed at the space 😎 and a bit envious of the large kitchen ☺️ it’s having that trade off for easier country lane driving though isn’t it 🤔 It’s all compromises I guess! we’ve stayed out in that van 🚐 for 3 weeks at a time & have enough storage etc & space even with the dog 🐶 & all his paraphernalia to come home and not want to file for divorce 🤣😂 How long have you had you’re van? It’s all a trade off isn’t it, my wife will love the raised floor so she can reach into the storage compartments as she is 5’1”. I believe there is or at least was an “extra-high” high roof version available as I think most of these vans are technically the medium roof type. Thanks again.

@@vansforthememories Oh we are just starting our journey towards our first van. We have been around quite a few looking and are going to attend one of the big shows next year to nail down further what we want. We have been on caravan holidays before and have also hired campervans a couple of times so we are fairly sure we want a rear lounge van conversion type of vehicle. We just need to get the finer details and specs worked out. G

A very nice van conversion, high standard, and very roomy, so many panel vans are very narrow, yours seems great.does it worry you making the bed up every night?we have an end lounge that makes up in a huge bed,never bothers us,but so many people like a fixed bed these days.

Hi, sorry for delay, didn't see your comment. We actually had a look at this, we always thought it was inside but its actually a fully insulated outside tank underneath the vehicle, before the rear axle. We have camped out in weather -6 and have never had any issues with it freezing. Thank you for the comment, Em

Hi 👋 the only exposed metal on the inside is a tiny bit around the back window 🪟 the rest is insulated & covered in panels. We have learnt to ventilate the van 🚐 while we’re sleeping & don’t have condensation issues in the living space, sometimes just a bit on window screen if it’s exceptionally cold, we use the van in winter in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 I don’t know the shower tray dimensions I’m afraid, not with the van at the moment, but can get back to you on that one. That van is a perfect substitute for a motorhome. Pat and I would be able to live in it as well as our motorhome. What will you do about the gas bottles when they stop making them. Hard to believe it's 2012, it looks like new. Beautiful van, thank you.

Hi Trevor, thank you for the lovely comment about our van 🚐 we do love ❤️ it to bits 😎. We can get a gas bottle alternative I believe, I can’t remember the name off the top of my head, it was a yellow bottle if my memory serves me right. But our gas lasts well over a year (yes even such a small bottle as it’s only used for cooking). If we’re on EHU we use a small air fryer which helps 😉 I’m sure you and Pat would find it very comfortable, but not sure you’d fancy making the bed up each night 🤭 Glad you enjoyed it, I know you’ve been patiently waiting to see it. @Vans For The Memories I know the yellow bottles. As long as there is an alternative, that's all that matters. I knew it was a bit special, a bit like Ian Hartley vans. We would probably leave the bed made up in the shorter position with us being dwarfs.

Hi Tony 👋 Great question, we have a cocker spaniel & he travels in a soft crate, either between the two bench seats at the back or if we have left the back in bed mode, behind my chair (passenger) He sleeps either on the chair, on the bed or if we haven’t made the bed up in his crate. @@vansforthememories Moffat is usually our first stop on the way up to the north of Scotland, it feels like the holiday starts there (after our traditional driver swap at Teebay services.. I'm not sure that our dogs would go in a bed like that, they are used to being harnessed into the back passenger seats. The big collie sleaps on the back seats and the collie/whippet cross sleeps on our bed (or in it if he can sneak in when he thinks we're asleep). If our daughter's dog is with us he normally sleeps between our feet. By coincidence, he is a spanner called Charlie but he is a springer.

@@tonysutton6559Yes we love Moffat, we mostly stay at the club site but have stayed at the Green Frog a couple of times too, it’s much cheaper 🤭 I think it’s what they’re used to, Charlie has always been in his crate and he feels quite secure in there and travels well 😎 On occasions where we travel in the car he has a harness & he fidgets a lot, a couple of times he’s stood on the seatbelt clip & freed himself 🤯🙈 So someone has to sit with him, he’s a Houdini 😂 Yes he likes to take over the bed too, that’s why if we sleep in singles he goes in his crate as I’ve actually ended up sleeping on the floor once as he hogged my bed ☺️ What type of van 🚐 do you have? @@vansforthememories We've actually got a demountable camper now that sits on top of a double cab d-max pick up truck so that it's like travelling in a car and then you enter the back when you arrive. It's got a massive double bed in the luton over the cab which is why there is also space for dogs. I'm sure that the big collie would try and join us if he was younger and slimmer but he seems happy enough taking up a sofa to himself if it is cold and the floor if it is hot. The beauty of having a demountable is that we can take it off the truck if we are staying anywhere for more than one or two nights and then get to places that would be inaccessible with a normal camper. When we had the VW van I was in the dog house because I would tow my dinghy and go off sailing for hours leaving my wife stuck on the campsites because it was so much hassle to put the pop top down, pack everything away, roll up the awning, unplug the electric etc to nip into town to go shopping and then perform the whole lot in reverse when she got back.
