It's called classic color meter. It's only for mac, but for windows just color picker is as good.

Yes, it's working on gh4 as well, but I recommend cine-d on gh4 if you don' have an external recorder. (v-log needs 10bits to work fully)

Yes, I don't shoot in v-log in 8bit. I use cine-d. And then premiere messes up 8bit vlog even more. I recommend cine-d to vlog in 8bits.

A7iii is comming early next year.

In theory it's better to shoot hlg, but in practise there is not a big difference. I have noticed that sometimes v-log blends better for wb-fixing in post that the hlg to v-log.

It's a KIT of LUTs. So yes, it works and there is even a video about how to use it in FCPX.

Luma only affects luma channel rgb affects the color channels as well. It's sometime good to use that instead of the rgb-curves.

There is luts for all those profiles inside the Kit, but gopro 7 lut is a prototype at lasts for now. :-) go trough the course to understand how to use the Kit.

or just never use the latest grates version of it. i always use the previous years' version as its had time to get all the bugs worked out.

Joo.Works thank you. I see it. I shoot frequently in a room that gives my videos a green tint. It’s so hard to get rid of in post. And I’m lighting with arri SkyPanel S60’s so it’s not my lights. Is there one of these LUTS you would recommend that would get me going in the right direction towards getting the green out of my shots?

Yes, you are correct. I make money by making luts/assets to other filmmaker. This channel is aimed for professional videographers. There is other channels for more entertaining content. Maybe you prefer them. I don't mind. :-)

@@JooWorks I'm sorry, are you trying to be low-key offensive? I said I LEARNED nothing, what does that have to do with entertaining? Im looking for info on color grading footage coming from the GH5 and everything that goes into it, specifically from scratch, not just by applying LUTs someone else made. There is nothing wrong with your content or what you are doing, it's awesome that you made the LUTs and people find your work useful, but I simply felt mislead by the title, that's all. Forgive me for the dismissive, brash initial comment.

Were you not? :-D But seriously I’m interested is there another videos on youtube where they teach the same correction->grading & clip level/sequence level workflow, similar contrast treatment or the idea of film emulation? If there is then I would be interested of seeing them. I have payed good money for course on colour grading with Premiere pro from color grading central and I think it was good, but not really taught this level of methods. I would love to see someone who does, I bet I could learn something from it as you have.

By the way, there is some videos on colour grading V-log without Luts with channel mixer and curves... after which I compare them to my luts ;-) but for some those channel mixer method has worked really well. The video was called ”advence colour correction for gh5” or something.

@@JooWorks Hah, I'm also interested if there is. I have seen a few of the videos you describe! A lot of these videos don't talk about the philisophy around color grading and the driving principles, what to look for, etc. Most of them just play with sliders and kind of eye it and say "till it looks good," and that's useless lol. I love your approach when it comes to looking at color grading in 3d, stretching the values to the entire color space, looking at the amount of info retained in color transitions, etc. I guess I need to take professional courses for that level of knowlege, or spend many hours figuring it out myself. You probably wouldn't do it, because you make money off of the LUTs, but I'd love a course that teaches how to go about correcting footage to the same level as your LUTs from scratch using the tools provided under the creative tab of Premiere (and of course the pholosophy and the thinking around doing it). I apologize for starting this conversation in such a dumb way again haha, that's no way to initiate a constructive dialogue. I'm new to color grading myself, I make vfx for a living, so haven't had to dive into this before, but just became interested recently!
