This ride was a charity ride, for kids and teens, they asked us to donate canned goods to school supplies etc. etc.… There were a lot of people who came out, probably good 150 riders maybe… Lots of food after, live band, and sponsors and their pop-up tents…
My third time here, and lots to explore, and go faster on the parts where I chicken out sometimes ha ha ha

Great video Vaughn. I too am kind of new @ mtb. I started August of 2024 @ age 56. I tried the loop 2 weeks in and could only finish about half of it. I guess I bit off a little more than I could chew (being asthmatic didn't help). I will be hitting that trail again soon. I just discovered your channel a couple of days ago and dig it. Thanks for sharing.

Cool! If you’re 230 lbs. you must fly downhills. I saw you trying wall riding at the beginning of your video. Keep it up.

Hahaha yeah I fly down hills, that's my only way I can catch up ha ... I just started the sport so I'm trying to remember how to ride like when I was a kid ha

Awesome video! I’m down in Orange so not far from the loop. I gotta give this place a shot soon. Rode dirtbikes and mtb bikes most my younger life. I understood exactly what u meant when there was something about dirt riding being special. Pretty much the only thing I’ve ever loved doing. Been on a good hiatus due working a lot and starting a family. I miss riding and I need to get in shape (I’m also 230ish) Great video. You should do a walk around vid on the bikes you ride. I’m on a hardtail as well currently.

I really need to move to Orange County, it's like the Mecca of mtb or bikes in general! And thanks, I try to make these commentary so it's a little more interesting. Good idea on the bike video showcase. I have a hardtail and full suspension and a gravel bike!

Don't know how old you are, but yeah, emtb's are terrific. Been riding mtb since the early 1990s and picked up my first emtb last December. Still ride my ht (surly karate monkey) a lot but given my weight (about 230 as well) and age (55), I'm able to tackle tougher terrain as if I was 25 again. But...I don't "love" my emtb like I do my kmonk.

@@realvaughnfelixI was one of the girl e-bikers in your video. I always said I would never get one...lol. I demo'd one at Skypark and that was it...bought one two weeks later. It truly is a blessing and a curse.

How did you find out about this charity or the group that ride? I would like to follow and hopefully be part of a big group ride like this.

I found them on social media, they do a bunch of different types of rides, not just Charity rides… Definitely start following bike shops, race, coordinators, etc.…
