I have known about Fullerton, California for many years. I graduated at Fullerton College. The video depicts Fullerton as a dangerous city. Which I feel is a poor depiction of this lovely city, and the original home of Fender guitars. Fullerton Observer also in its August 2023 paper, did not approve of how this video portrayed Fullerton, California. I could appreciate the Fullerton PD to recruit more officers, but PLEASE do not paint an unfair picture, of life in Fullerton, California.
Your officers are starting to ask random people minding their own business in public for their names, where they live, if they are on probation or have been arrested, again.. Just like before the Kelly Thomas incident. It is not right for an officer to violate traffic laws when making an illegal u turn just to shine a light in a citizens face and try to violate their rights. Please respect the public that pays taxes which is how you get paid. Please educate your young officers that someone walking in public is not a crime, and should not shine a light in their face, let them know they need to first identify themselves before they try and ask any question. Police officers that act this way.. Asking who I am and where I am from... That is what gangsters do, "where you from?"From now on, any contact with police , any encounter I have is being recorded. I do not appreciate officers acting this way. Please respect the public, and you'll get respect back, don't just stop people and treat them like an assumed criminal. Police are here to protect public, yes? But in that process you should not try and violate rights, I cannot respect that. I do not comment with ill intent, I have encountered many Fullerton police that are respectful and genuinely feel they are good people, but officers asking random questions, and asking for ID when no crime has been committed, I cannot respect that, or trust that person. I'm filming every encounter from now on. Good officers, stay safe, and thank you, because police are needed, but not to violate rights, those officers are not worthy of a badge . no s it’s called consensual encounter. Here’s the definition from online -> “Consensual encounters do not require reasonable suspicion or probable cause as long as a reasonable person would feel free to leave or decline to speak with the police” They can ask you whatever they want. People who answer willingly cooperate with the police. They are allowed to ask you questions
@@alexrista9333 I understand all that, that's why I just kept walking, that officer made an illegal turn, and when i kept walking, made another illegal turn, big deal right? No! It's not right. I cant respect a cop that is just fishing, asking stupid questions, that's why I just kept walking. An officer is suppose to greet and identify themselves before asking any questions to a random person. What gives a cop a right to break traffic laws in order to ask someone walking questions? There was no call, no emergency. I get the consensual conversation part, that's why we have a 5th amend. it's the approach... fishing for something, trying to create a problem where there is none, cops lie (I know, they are allowed) speed with no emergency lights on, double park, make illegal u turns, don't stop at stop signs, etc etc.
@@alexrista9333 I agree, not all, I was generalizing, that small percentage is a lot, and doesn't make it right. Police officers that behaves this way won't be called out on it by other police. I have seen it too many times.
@@nos4264 They can't fish on duty haha. But having studied a lot of criminal law in college there is precedent allowing them to do a lot of the things you described. If they have reasonable suspicion illegal crime has occurred, is occurring, or is about to occur. Yes "about to occur." I am not saying the one you dealt with was doing everything correctly but usually there is a reason they are talking to you. Don't hate man feel free to go into the FPD and ask to speak to a supervisor and respectfully ask them about your incident.
What was the budget on this? should you not save this money so you can bribe juries? What a silly video. Unless you are recruiting 12 year olds, most everyone else will think this is ridiculous. Why don't you teach your officers to de-escalate. This is a community not a video game. RIP Kelly Thomas
No weapon, yet you brought the swat team and attack dogs to take down 1 suspect?? Stop glorifying police duty as if your in militia! Do your job as a public servant, mediator, social worker. Your violence comes from your culture and training and that must end now!!
@@danwalker9999 trust me. That's most cops. Bunch of high-school rejects that can't even remember their own name much less the law. But you don't need a brain to be a pos like a cop do you? Just gotta know which way the bullet comes out and how to beat citizens to death as they plead for their lives
Yes, next time I have a prowler on my property, i'll ask the dispatcher to send a social worker to find out why his upbringing led the prowler to feeling compelled to snoop around a stranger's house at 5 AM.
