It is amazing that after the first episode, it's not until episode 6 that there are tears of joy and empathy, everything up till then is just sorrow, despair and anguish.
This show was the number one anime on My Anime List for many years only recently having been bumped to #2 by Frieren. It is a great story. And Winry is one of my favorites in the cast.
Ok, it's not a spoiler now. Pinako is a heavy smoker, heavy drinker. She's hands down the coolest woman you wish you knew. She sassed Mustang when he barged in, and admited to drinking with Mr Ho. Do NOT mess with Pinako.
What’s so great about this show is the emotional journey it takes you on. It kicks you down, lets you feel the consequences, and then lifts you back up. You’ll never forget the sadness and pain, but you’ll have the strength and hope to keep moving forward.
The saying "fingers crossed" means that you want it to happen, while crossing your fingers behind your back means you plan on betraying or not following through with what you agreed to when making a deal with someone else.
