@@MAR19980 I'd say watch Death Note and AoT too if you liked this one. I personally like Death Note and AoT better than FMAB, but FMAB is right at the top along with them
FMA brotherhood is like a complete package. Good story, great character development with no particular dislikeable characters, Gorgeous animation, Best op and ending songs ( I like all 10 of them) and everything achieved in a compact no of episodes. For me it is the best anime I've watched so far.
@@TChops-hi7hr i'm halfway through season 4, and even though so much has been revealed about the story and the fucked up shit people have done, thinking about that episode still pisses me off so much
Well there's no particularly dislikeable character but there is one I hate so damn much because SPOILER He killed Hughes . I don't want any further spoilers cause I haven't completed it yet But the anime is Damn Great
@@Eccentric-Scientist Oh man. I hated him too. But I don't hate him anymore. I don't know where you are in the show right now, so I won't say more , but god damn if !SPOILER!(ep 54) THAT scene wasn't one of the saddest in the show.
Spoiler Alert!!!!! Lust died being burned. Envy died admitting he was jealous of humans. Gluttony died by being eaten by Pride. Greed died satisfied. Sloth died over-exerting his philosopher's stone. Wrath died happy with his life. Pride was defeated by someone who he thought was inferior to him. Oh, the Irony.
FMA is one of (if not THE) best shounen anime series. Most shounen series have a certain formula of training, time skipping, believing in friends, heart power, or yelling out the name of the attack aloud. FMA doesn't do that at all. Edward uses his wits, his power comes from various sacrifices, several of the main antagonists were defeated with unified efforts rather than having the one on one and no one actually yells out their attacks.
+2Mainstream 4U but he doesnt really teach us that his defeat does also he doesn't teach the characters in the show rather just the viewers but i get where ur coming from but personally he is an epic villain but i find madara n mereum to be waay better villains
+thegame expert XDD There are actually two XD I can't find links right now, but I can give you the names: Conqueror of Shamballa Aaaaaaaannnnd The Sacred Star of Milos
I've watched FMAB nearly 40 times. In few words, I've become a writer (a real one, the first book of my trilogy is being printed at this very moment), inspired by this story, among others: I'm not able to, but if could, I would express how much I'm grateful to Hiromu Arakawa. Thank you, you dam woman, I owe you a damn huge part of my life, to you and Tolkien, among others.
ehhhh Idk man, a trusted source of mine says that the ending isn't half as good as Brotherhood and there are plot holes in places! I'm currently watching Romeo X Juliet, and then I think I'm going to either try and watch SAO II subbed (couldn't stand the japanese voices but might try and give it a shot) or start Toradora
Chris Hazell The ending is less cliche and more bittersweet but the series is amazing and much more emotional than Brotherhood. Trusted sources aside I give it my highest recommendation and praise. Oh and don't bother with SAO II its even worse than the first one(somehow) from what i've seen.
When an anime is able to hold the #1 ranked spot for an entire decade, you know you are watching a masterpiece. With the new decade coming upon us, I wonder, what anime will be the one to finally dethrone FMA:Brotherhood, if any?
@@KyojinKaiser for me attack on titan doesn't deserve it All the story about gross scenes with depressed scenes And don't have any deep story like fullmetal This is my opinion And the last few years people are looking for epic gross anime lile aot and demon slayer, I mean old animies like fullmetal, code geass, steins gate, evanglion are gone, The people don't like this type of anime
+IkillBlack FMAB is better than the original, plus if you watched FMAB first, the first few episodes of FMA will be pretty strange... the first episode of FMA is like the third episode of FMAB
thecartoonboy999 Just imagine like humanity vanished and aliens land on earth, find a copy of FMAB and go just like “Wow...how did I live without this”
If there is one thing I enjoy the most about FMA apart from the obvious qualities like animation, story and characters, existential questions, is that they give a damn explanation for everything and NO PLOT HOLES, everything is so extremely well connected.
Just finished watching it this past Wednesday. I will admit that it has a lot of exposition in the first arc, but by the end I completely understood what was going on.
To all who say that FMAB isn't the best anime ever. This anime tackled issues like loss, loneliness and existentialism, it shows us the true meaning of life, it gave us the struggle for redemption. This anime depicts the God complex, the ubermensch and the destruction this idea can cause....the darkness of wrath, the malice of pride and the innocence behind it. This anime made us recognise the value of the support we have from who we call family, the greed that we have for affection, the unrequited love for a man and his vision (Riza hwkeye). The atrocities and hate risen from war, the lust for destruction and the significance of individuality (Scar). The mangaka showed us how to be a man, the way she depicted men, strong in resolve yet gentle in execution, from the brooding byronic heroes (mustang) and the amiable strongmen (armstrong) to the mature anti-hero who knew who he married and was a part of (wrath). She wrote about sacrifice (Fu), the qualities of a leader (ling) and the devotion of a woman (lan fan). She also showed us the strength of a woman (Mira armstrong), their ambition and care (winry), their good nature and beauty (shao may) and their love and rue (izumi). The truth that is you, that is me, that is one, that is everything, that what keeps humans so that we don't become boastful. And Lastly, the kindness, patience, and valour of a human being (alphonse elric) and the persistence of his brother Edward. And above all, the sense, bravery and the love of a parent and a husband (Maes hughes). This is why FMAB is what it is.
@@somendrasharma4907 It's all subjective, your opinion isn't fact. FMAB is good but it's not the best, there are many animes that are more philosophical imo.
SultenZone I hope Light puts some time into doing this same treatment for other songs/openings. He could easily become the god of a new world just through these videos.
SultenZone This really is. It also covers most of the story as well, showing all of the major players in the story and implying their relations. The stream-lined transitions between each section must have added on hours if not days of extra time invested to masterfully piece together. Finally, the timing of each shown scene in relation to the music is in perfect sync. I give this opening compilation video five alchemic transformations out of five.
***** I also especially liked that end scene where the rain stopped, Ed looked up and their mother lent out her hand to him. I think that's kinda reminiscent of the Original FMA 2nd Opening, when Ed and his brother were in the rain and as Ed lifted his head up he saw Winry hold out her hand right before the rain stopped.

Have you seen JoJo Part 3 : Stardust Crusaders? If you need an anime with the journey feeling, watch it and DO ONT PART SKIP, WATCH OR READ ALL OF THEM
Dude, asking if someone has seen a part 3 of an anime then telling them not to part skip is confusing af. I'd rather ask them to watch part 1 first THEN tell them not to part skip.
@@paulinolexnathang.2840 and the all the JoJos parts have that type of excitment OP is seeking. So yeah, just watch JoJo. P.S.: It is totally fine not to appreciate jojo.

dont anyone ever tell me people are lazy or humanity doesn't strive towards greatness without personal benefit, because this comment, right here, disproves that entirely!!! thank you so much I had to listen to the song again in it's entirety because I saw this comment and wanted to sing along properly :D thank you and God bless
Can I just say....that this is the BEST AMV that I have ever had the pleasure of seeing? I can't just listen to the song, I HAVE to watch the video because of how it adds to the song.
I come back to watch this video every now and then. It’s one of the few anime related videos that have made me emotional and it is so well done. I remember watching this anime for the first time in undergrad and being floored by how amazing it was.
Oh I know how you feel, it was even worse in the original with the second opening, a few episodes after they introduced the new opening Hughes dies and you have to watch that opening where he is so happy
Rewatched it after 8 years it was amazing completely forgot everything so I suggest to you guys to watch it after almost a decade it's too good almost as if it was the first time
Sadly, I can't. This was one of those anime that, even after over a decade since I last watched the final episode, the entirety of it is seared in my mind. We're talking permanently embedded. It had THAT great of an impact on me.
1:35 he is sad and dreaming of change 1:37 he realises there is no time to mope around 1:41 he picks himself up 1:45 wipes his face like no ones business and launches without hesitation Edwards determination is what makes him my ultimate role model in life
Perfect idea. Watch this once. Then wait a couple years flooding your mind with other content until one day it pops back into your head. And THEN rewatch it like it’s the first time all over again
My childhood was formed out of: - Naruto - Bleach - Fairy Tail - This masterpiece - Soul Eater I'm glad I grew in the generation when those anime shows were shown on TV channels, the only one I remember being "Animax" or something like that.
Of that list, I only watched Soul Eater, then FMA:B. I had watched Death Note and the 2003 FMA before that. FMA:B blew everything out of the water. I've watched more since then, and truly, nothing quite compares.
soul eater was sick but the ending was extremely corny and cringe, they could've made the ending so much better they literally built up and developed strengths and special attacks, just to end with some "fist of friendship" type shit i genuinely enjoyed the anime but i was so disappointed by the ending
I'm still scrolling to find the episode that has this intro sequence, but yeah the comments in this section are so heartwarming and loving about this show.
Havent enjoyed an anime this much since having watched gintama for the first time. I am on episode 50 as of now and i really love how well put together brotherhood is
FMA is a masterpiece! One of my all time favorite anime openings, lost count how many times I’ve listen to this to where Im able to sing it too lol. 2:30 the climax part of the song is my favorite it’s soo good and also Greed is my favorite in the show
It took me legit 4 hours to finish the final 3 episodes of Brotherhood. Almost every scene was amazing and emotional and awesome to the point that I'd replay them at least once before I allowed the episode to continue. I have a feeling it was also me desperately trying to keep the ending from coming as much as possible. Damn, I miss this show.
I find myself coming back to this video time and time again. This video introduced me to FMA and has my favorite OP in the series. I love this show/manga and I wish I could watch it again for the first time.
Such a beautiful song, it hits me right in the feels every time I listen to it, it makes me miss the days when I'd look forward to the newest episode of FMA:B. As if all those feels weren't enough, I get close to tearing up a little bit every time I see Hughes in this video, I absolutely LOVED him. I'm still not over his death, in every episode I hear some word that makes me think of him and I just wanna cry.
+Chris00Stans Oh God, don't remind me... It broke my heart into a million pieces, I cried like crazy... I really struggle keeping it together when I see her in episodes because it constantly brings back memories of Hughes and also knowing how she doesn't fully understand why so no longer has a daddy 😢
Hughes was too OP, his power of insight too much. The fuhror couldn't have that. It would have been a shorter anime with him around, still sad about him dieing tho :(
Fun fact: Theophrastus Bombastus von Hohenheim, Erics dad, is named after Philippus Aureolus Theophrastus Bombastus von Hohenheim, an actual alchemist/physician from the 1400s

2:54 Only now did I realize that this wasn't Edward. It was Hoenheim. God damn, they were foreshadowing the entire end at the very first intro of the anime.
+testsubject747 It wasn't until the dwarf in the flask episode I realized that that was actually Hohenheim, not Ed. Every time I saw him in the intro for the first season I always thought, "Why in the intro does Ed look like he's Ed 10 years in the future? I wonder why they're doing that...". Then I saw young Hohenheim in the Dwarf in the Flask and I was like "HOLY CRAP! THAT WAS ACTUALLY HOHENHEIM IN THE FIRST INTRO!! Man, Ed is the spitting image of this father in his younger years!"
+Kanna Kagami I know, right. It's ironic how the man that Ed hates the most, is the man he's EXACTLY like, I mean the dude is 100% Hohenheim, no question
Kira 2000 this was the absolute best anime and not a single one of those comment people can tell me otherwise. I won’t respond to you if you disagree with me.
I think Gintama and Steins:Gate are bit better than FMAB but its all about personal preference and I think FMAB will appeal to more people than Gintama.
I finished fma brotherhood 4 years ago. I remember that I used to feel empty when it ended because I allways watched it before I went to bed. This is my favourite anime because of that! Fma brotherhood is just pure quality!
I just finished this again for the 15th time. Out of all the anime I have watched I can watch fma brotherhood over an over again an never get tired of it
I think it made him a better person and a wiser leader at the end. He had to learn to depend on others even more and he realized that even he’s helpless at times. It knocked him down a few pegs.
Is it just me or does the whole opening contain all different type of feelings-emotions? Like, it has everything. The tone of the voice, the instrumental, it just really makes you dive into the story of not only Edward and Alfonse but also freaking everyone like Mustang and all the help that is provided to everyone really. You also get the feeling and the consequences of dealing with a forbidden technique and just the whole uncertainty of being an Alchemist. And at the same time as being epic, you can hear the love for a mother. It's just incredible
Maybe he watched it when it originally aired?dunno. What i do know is that at the time when this went out, i was one of those idiots that didn't watch it just because it wasn't the original. Now that i watched it in just under 2-3 days, i hate myself, because i know that it's over and it will not be continued.(Dead inside, wish i could delete my memories of it, so i can watch it again for the "First time") People, please, when you start watching shows like this, take your time, cherish every last moment of it, because shows like this are rare.
This is and probably always be my Favorite anime, and it was fun creeping out my teachers and friend in chemistry class by listing out the element and the amounts that make up the human body
this is the only amv i still watch to this day. i really love how only the openings were used, and it's put together so well, too. it also me pretty emotional, especially at the end. very good stuff
