Do you make customs for commission, I am a speed runner and I could use something like this with some modifications. I did a run this weekend after two years and I noticed there was some things that could make doing the run easier if the controller was designed for it and something like this was the idea. Hey Akaki! I've been following you since the first 3D-printed HOTAS you designed for Xbox One controller. I love the way you're integrating compliant mechanisms into the structures now. Thanks so much for creating all the HOTAS variants, it was incredibly useful during quarantine. I just purchased the updated DS4 files and I'll be trying them out this week. Keep up the awesome work! :)
You fixed my biggest hurdle: I couldn't be bothered to glue anything, which means I just have everything lying around half build x) Can't wait for the PS5 controller update

Lol, and I had just finished printing both sticks for my DualSense. However, I did have some issues with some of the linkages, so I'll definitely be reprinting them with the newer files once their updated. I guess I'll start printing the ps4 sticks in the mean time.
This stuff is pretty awesome for real dude it looks impossible to make but you just end up finding out ways to make an input for buttons on a 3d print.
Truly impressive work! It'd be interesting to hear more about how it was to be piloting in a drone show. Sounds quite extraordinary. I would have imagined that the drones would be programmed with some autopilot software that coordinates all of them as a swarm. Speaking of drones, I'd also be curious to hear how it feels to pilot a drone with joysticks, instead of the regular transmitter gimbals. Looking forward to more interesting projects and jokes!
Integrating optional springs into your design may solve your dilemma with face buttons. Packs of 100 are sold on Amazon for a reasonable price. All in all, you've created an amazing piece of technology and I look forward to seeing your future iterations. Great job, man!
It would feel like defeat if I came all this way and used metal springs at this point! Your suggestion did get me thinking though. I guess you could add a spring (metal or a plastic flexure) somewhere inside the stick shaft that keeps the linkage stick centered. But that said, the linkages work fine 90% of the time already!
Oh man, I’m excited to see some of these changes in the Xbox controller version. I just bought a new 3D printer and was about to purchase the STL file for it. I don’t mind waiting for the update so I can give you my money. Great job, and I can’t wait so I can play some Elite Dangerous in style 😎
Awesome! Wait a few days and the Xbox files will have the screw-on assembly, nicer buttons and trigger, and stronger flexure gimbal and button linkages

The simulation is a lot of fun, but I think the missions were disappointing. The beginning is very difficult because you don’t have suitable trucks, and repairs cost more than what you earn from hours of grinding play. Then after two or three memorable thought-out missions in the snowy region, the later missions are too long and repetitive. I think I will give it one more chance one day and try the user-created maps and missions some day!
Hi, akaki. I wanted to print this but its too expensive as im living in india. The first version is also very expensive i could rather buy a joystick. Pls help me if you can.
Would it be possible to do one for the Nintendo switch pro controller because I don’t want to buy a ps4, ps5, or Xbox controller and also the joystick design because then I might as well just buy a regular hotas even though it is missing the additional axis. It would also be great if you could make one for the latest hotas Xbox design too.

Thanks! Yea you should definitely print the screws solid. It’s easy to split them into their own file in PrusaSlicer with Split to Objects. You can then save the STL from there even if you use a different slicer.

@@AkakiKuumeri I don't know about other people, but I would love one, since I like a yoke and I like having full access to all the buttons I can get. It would also be interesting if you could try to make it just connect to 1 stick on the controller for more open inputs. Also by the way, thank you so much for offering a free version of all your designs.
I have had the beginnings of an idea for a better yoke design in my sketchbook for a while… I agree that it would be better to just use one of the sticks. I’ll see if I can move it up the ideas list!
@@AkakiKuumeri I could second, although what I miss the most is the loss of the throttle stick on your updates. The previous throttle which was "sticky" using tape I thought was a great start. The yoke seems a tad more difficult, but ideally a "sticky" throttle update and a new yoke would be the best. Then again, I should just learn myself. Great puns btw! lol Let me know if you plan on updating a new throttle for PS4.
