OUR VAN IS FOR SALE! Please contact us or leave a comment below for more information.
After a long while, we've finally got around to recording a van tour of our Nissan eNV200 Camper Van. Join Pete for a walk around of the van and in-depth look at some of the aspects of it.
Use these video chapter markers to skip to specific areas:
00:00 - Introduction
00:32 - Outside of the van
01:54 - Under the bonnet
03:31 - Charging ports
04:15 - Rear of the van
05:02 - Shower point
05:54 - Camper electrics
07:47 - Water system
08:26 - Upgraded van lighting
12:27 - Van driving controls
24:34 - Infotainment system
32:08 - Camper conversion
34:46 - Kitchen area
39:30 - RIB bed
42:01 - Sleeping position
This camper conversion is based on the fully-electric Nissan eNV200. The vehicle was registered in 2020 and is the top-range Tekna model, with a 40kWh battery pack and includes the heated seats and steering wheel package.
Being fully electric, the vehicle has very low servicing costs and has far less parts to go wrong compared to an internal combustion engine vehicle. And with Zero Emissions, ULEZ Free and Tax Free, your running costs are far lower too! The 40kWh battery can deliver up to 160 miles of range depending on how the vehicle is driven, and can be charged to 80% in just over half an hour.
The conversion includes a much sought-after RIB bed which sleeps two, with two rear seatbelts, fully electric heating and cooking, a microwave, spacious fridge, hot and cold water tanks, centre table, a good sized sink, and lots and lots of storage cupboards. The vehicle was sound-deadened, insulated and carpeted prior to interior fit-out.
Both the vehicle and the camper conversion are fully electric, meaning no potentially dangerous gas or diesel tanks for cooking and heating. A 'shore power' electric hookup socket is included on the outside of the vehicle, allowing the camper to use mains electricity at a campsite to both power the internal electrics and charge the vehicle battery! Solar panels on the roof also keep the camper battery topped up and a roof mounted Maxxair fan can automatically turn on at a set temperature, to keep the vehicle cool on those hot summer days!
The van also comes with multiple charging options for the vehicle, including a 32a portable charger (which can be reduced to as low as 6a, for use at campsites and wall outlets etc), a type 2 cable for untethered 'fast' charging at home and at supermarkets etc, and a CHAdeMO connector for rapid charging at service stations and public chargers (this connector is also compatible with 'Vehicle to Home' charging, allowing the large vehicle battery to power your home!)
One very exciting modification to the vehicle is the upgraded infotainment system. The dash-mounted large touchscreen can display 360 camera views around the vehicle (which is exceptionally helpful for parking in those tight spots) and features Bluetooth audio, streaming audio services (RU-vid Music, Spotify, Apple Music etc), FM radio, DAB radio and SD/USB music playback. Being an Android based unit, you can install any apps from the Google Play Store, and we currently have RU-vid, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney Plus, BBC iPlayer, ITVx and more installed, meaning you can catch up with all your favorite films and series when you're stopped and charging the vehicle. Navigation can be provided by any sat-nav app (we use Google Maps) and apps like ZapMap make finding your closest charging station so easy!
Externally, the vehicle has had a tow bar added, with an additional tow step installed (allowing you to get higher to access roof boxes mounted on the roof rails etc). It also features chrome side bars, a very bright LED light bar on the front, LED strip lighting at the front and rear of the vehicle including turn signal animations, and all-around upgraded brighter LED bulbs. Driving this vehicle at night is like being able to see in daylight!

Nice conversion! I've also converted an e-NV200 camper van and been on lots of trips in it, it's a great little van

I didn't know I wanted an ENV200 camper van, but apparently now I do - amazing conversion! How much power do the solar panels generate? Enough to power a Starlink?

Really interesting video . Not sure if you’ve seen them but im in the process of getting a London Nissan dynamo taxi which is a converted env200 . Haven’t test driven it yet so found this of great use the way you went through all the features 👍🏻. How do you find the reliability? I’ll be doing approx 100 miles a day (40 travel then 60 miles working ) five days a week
@adventurespoons
@adventurespoons 5 месяцев назад
Thank you for your kind words ☺️ The taxi conversion sounds really interesting, good luck with that 👍 We find the van really reliable! And doing 100 miles a day should be fine. Winter will be a bit tighter due to the cooler temperatures affecting the battery and you using the heating etc, but in summer you'll have loads of charge left at the end of the day 😎

Have you ever Recharge It fully by just using the leisure battery and the Solar panels And if so, how long or days did it take? Very curious.

Very smart indeed. Dont think you mentioned anything about using the climate control while camped overnight which is the great thing about an EV camper. What sort of %/khw would it use overnight?
@adventurespoons
@adventurespoons 6 месяцев назад
Yes, the climate control running through the night is such a bonus! Depending on the temperature outside and how warm we want it inside, we reckon it uses roughly 1% battery every hour or two. If we're parked overnight with the climate control on, we only really see a 5-10% drop in battery level, which we don't think is too bad :-)

OK... I was looking to buy a eNV200. I did not know that you could tow with them ? do you know what the limit is, for towing
@tiepup
@tiepup 8 месяцев назад
About 125kg for the 40 kWh van version, but it depends on what the vehicle weight is with your conversion. Likely it’s a zero towing limit. They’re a good van. I’ve driven them since they came out. They can be a bit bouncy and the seats are a little uncomfortable, but they have good acceleration and you can use the heater/air conditioning when parked up or charging. If you do a lot of miles they’ll save a lot of money over a diesel one.
@IamMotorHomeless
@IamMotorHomeless 8 месяцев назад
@@tiepupwe don't do that many miles, but I just had solar and a battery fitted to the house, so we should be able to keep the van fully charge off free solar excess for most of the year. Out side of my budget, but the new Nissan Townstar EV has a decent tow limit, up to 1,500kg
