I have no idea why i watch her videos. I’m 73 years old with dodgy knees and have never ever gone camping. Probably it is because of several reasons. She speaks clearly and slowly. Her English is easy to listen to. She appproaches the subject matter with consummate ease.
Hi Charles,it’s strange you say that I’m 58 AND I HATE CAMPING!!!!!!! But I find wildbeare videos very calming/relaxing……. Plus she’s easy on the eye 😜😜😜
Haven't camped since I was a teenager and yes, I also know the pain of dodgy knees through a combination of childhood issues, sports injuries, an accident and middle age! I often watch Claire's videos just before going to bed, as they are always positive and calming - even the bad weather ones 😆 Claire has such a great, upbeat nature and even when things go wrong, she smiles through it all. She's just a joy to watch and her love of nature just shines through.
I went to district Girl Guide camp for a week when I was 12 and it was really traumatic. Then I went to a motorcycle rally and some huge drunk bloke fell on me in the night and broke the tent. What this lady is doing looks far more peaceful than both of these Ps. I also have dodgy knees
I agree - I think each video lowers my blood pressure by 40 points......such a peaceable sort of person with an eye for making great videos of the wilderness and sharing the wonder it holds.....
Oh my gosh. I love watching your videos. You are such an inspiration to young women everywhere. I do have a concern with the meal prep. I see you brought precut onions. Word of advice from someone who's been there done that. Lol. Onions start to absorb bacteria from the moment you cut them. Please be careful. I've had food poisoning from bad onions. It lasted 9 terrible days. I was so ill I dropped 40 pounds in that time. Freeze them if you're going to cut them ahead of time. The taste and texture stay the same, but the going bad possibility is a lot lower. I mean it when I say you're an inspirationThank you for the stealth camping videos. That is what slows me down when camping. I'm in the USA, and camping alone as a woman is scary as all get out. Keep exploring. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Finally....I've been ACHING for someone to do an overnight in this tarp configuration, you see the setup videos but not the overnight. This is a very easy and very effective setup, you can raise it a few inches to promote airflow, or in bad weather you can put the walls on the ground and guy the door open in a way rain can't enter but you get air. That floppy bit, You're right, stake it down on the side. I swear this is the first overnight with this setup, I have NOT found another.
Ahh really that's great :D I'll try it in rain at some point, with a longer pole. You're right it's so easy, one of the easiest! Thanks for watching :)
This is the wonderful Claire, she's smiling with her eyes. She's brave and feisty and funny, when camping 'neath the skies. She'll brighten up your day with her wanderings abound, and show us lovely countryside with all its sights and sounds. So let's give a cheer for Claire is here it's plain for all to see. That she's the perfect RU-vidr. The perfect one for me. xx❤
I'll put it this way, would you put that kind of comment on a male RU-vidrs channel?. The answer is no. Nip it in the bud and talk to her normally.@@Cyberdyne-kg8ku
I love how tranquil and calming this video is, interspersed with the cutest bits of humour :) These experiments in tarp tech are really interesting too.
Absolutely loved this, for any young families watching please please don't make the mistake my wife and I made. We went from a large tent (3kids) which we all loved to a caravan. It was never the same. Lost that contact with nature and cooking outside etc etc etc . We sold the caravan and bought another tent. Love the video and the natural experience. Thank you
We love our tent, its so exciting for the children, we have a teen and a youngster and they adore the camping experience. I do like the idea of a caravan but I think it's the whole roughing it experience that makes it such a fab way of escaping modern life with all its gadgets.
@@Alicesdream17 that's the bit we lost when in the caravan, in the tent the kids were giggling and having fun, in the caravan it just changed. We cooked on a stove and slept in beds. Might as well have been at home.
I can relate, we went from a tent to a pop up to an RV then back to a tent then a trailer then an RV. Now we aren't camping anymore. Hope to get back into it, but the fondest memories were in a tenr!
Well that was an awesome lil' tarp shelter Claire! Looked like you were having a really great time out there too. Always a pleasure to see you in good spirits 😊 I hope that you have a wonderful week my friend :) Stay wild.... 🐻 -John P.S. Glad that you didn't go with the enclosed carp shelter 😉 lol
It’s always a pleasure when I get to have Claire spend some time in my living room on my TV. No matter how bad a day it is, Claire never fails to brighten it. Claire just reeks of happiness…lol You go Girl! 👍🏼❤️😎
With each new video, the content gets more polished and refined, and as usual, great fun to watch! Being outdoors is a wonderful, but challenging experience, and you obviously relish it. Long may it continue, and keep the videos coming!
Favoutie person ever to watch! I’m going camping for 5 nights in the summer with my best friend and her family for the first time ever and I am super excited - you have gotten me so hyped up I cannot waittttt!❤️❤️❤️
Claire, as ever you have nailed it. Love the friendship you instantly made with the tarp and insect 😅 great effort all round. Nice cheerful little movie edit as ever. Harry
I've just recently discovered your channel. Your upbeat personality and overall happiness is contagious, I feel better after watching your videos. Thank you!
Another beautiful pitch! And I learned a new tarp configuration. I think the ridge line gave you the better interior layout Vs the pole in the middle. But it’s nice to know you can achieve the pyramid without a ridge line if needed. Well done, as always Claire.
Glad I'm not the only one who gets the anxiety while wild camping when trying to get to sleep, I find it much easier when I'm under a non-enclosed shelter like a tarp/basha as opposed to a tent because I don't feel so trapped. Love your content!
Short n sweet , love the kite mode Tarp in the last configuration , excellent that for cooking breakfast and watching my fishing Rod go Bop bop bop looking for CARP Whilst sat under me TARP 😅
when you mentioned bad weather it put me in mind of probably the king of tarp configurations is the "bender", a traditional traveler shelter built like an upside down coracle. actually built the way you build a coracle before you turn the boat over. it can be as simple as a few bent branches or as complicated as a more permanent dwelling and any size your tarp likes. something you used to see at the travellers festivals back in the day, ive seen festival stage woven out of large branches and half covered with tarp to shelter the stage platform.
I have been wanting to do a tarp shelter for quite some time now, nearing two years. I learned a lot about backpacking from your channel. I originally had my spark from watching a show called “Ultimate Survival Alaska” and that’s when I really started to get deep into wilderness adventure. But, I only started to actually backpack from a couple of channels, the main one being yours. I love your style and your spirit with adventure. It truly is like food for our spirits. I just wanted to thank you for these beautiful videos you have here.
Great vid as usual, my wife and I live in Lincolnshire with four dogs....about a million miles from anywhere worth wild camping unfortunately, so it's nice for us to wild camp vicariously through your content. I can just about persuade a tent but there's no way my better half would tarp it.
Hey, thanks! Well, I am down south and just camping in a local woodland here, I prefer to camp in the mountains for the solitude but I manage to find little spots to hide in closer to the cities too, it's never quite as relaxing as being up north in the wilder places though. I can see that tarps aren't for everyone, even just the bugs having free access is enough to put many people off, understandably, haha. Thanks for watching my video, much love to you and your wife and your doggo's 🐕🐕🐕🐕
Have recently got into your videos 71 year old, never been camping, very much enjoy your relaxed presentation, you look so young and fresh, keep enjoying your camping and thank you for sharing with us.
I actually love the food and coffee bits, it’s really cozy watching you make your warm drink etc..I get disappointed when you skip over it ha ha ❤ I wanted to see you enjoy those sausages!
That's interesting to see you say that. The cooking is my least favourite part of camping and van-life videos. I always felt they were just 'padding out the video' with that stuff. I'm more interested in the 'vibe' and the 'ambience'. I'd rather see views of where they are sleeping and sitting and what they see when they look around. To kind of imagine being there. A close up of someone chopping veg and then cooking it is the least interesting thing to me. I actually really don't like camping videos when most of the video is them walking to the location, or visiting shops, then the rest of the video is just them cooking, and there's hardly any views of the ambience of where they are. So it's interesting seeing that you like that stuff enough to actually comment on it.
Don't worry about malfunctions, Claire 😊 Yesterday my homemade motorbike stopped in the middle of nowhere, really far from home, and a young couple, complete strangers, never seen them before, stopped to ask if I need help. Then they put my oil-dripping motorbike in their expensive new Volvo, and took me and my bike home, free of charge. This shows, that this is still a lovely place to live 😊
Fantastic! I tried this configuration before. A little bit of a faff getting in and out when it's wet but it does offer good protection from the elements. Nice one! It's always fun trying new tarpology!
@@WildBeare hiya! Ya do love to push yourself ay! But the pole will be very much in the way inside, as you say in the vid! Therefore this made me thunk & wonder about a tripod of some sort to support from the sides giving u the middle space back! I bet there is one, ill have a look!! I also wondered while thunking about the entrance, what happens if you leave a foot or 2 wide? Easier to get in and out of and it can be closed back up for sleeping.. Love your videos, always a treat ☺️
Imagine answering, "What are you smiling about?" "I'm on RU-vid watching an outdoorsy woman devour multiple sausages in her snugly primrose." "Wh...what?" "With onions and mustard, yeah!" "Wait, wh...what?" "It's a tarp review, you know".
OMG, Wild Ones. Some of the comments are just hilarious, once seen, cannot be unseen, 😂😂😂. Hoping that the ankle is holding up well. Brilliant video as always Claire. ❤
Great video as usual . you know what i love ,its that you are just like anyone else trying new things and new places and sometimes it works and sometimes it fails but you show it all
Always find it interesting these days with what people do/make videos of - my mate Pete and I were bivvying back in the late 80's/early 90's - and we weren't the first either
Looks like a mansion Claire. You have the best meals for a camper ☺Can't wait to see how Primrose copes in the wind and rain. Always a pleasure to share your adventures. Cheers, Rich
Thanks for sharing that blooper at the end. I love the way you keep it so real. You’re a sweet and funny breath of fresh air. Wish we could be friends cos you are my cup of tea.
Hello 👋 Claire, a big thank you for sharing another outdoor adventure. You always do an amazing job. Always take good care of yourself. Stay safe out there. 😊
Used this configuration a few times myself. Great for space and being enclosed and protected from the elements. The flappy things are the only drawback yes.
Fine, fresh video action and ideas! I LIKE the sly way you worked out how to demonstrate both the closed and open possibilities of this setup. Your work on rearranging the entry flap is also novel.
You are a very resourceful and independent person, your accent reminds me of my late mom in law I could listen to her for hours, stay safe and enjoy life, waiting for the next video😊
The tv is on, and got my mobile in my hand. Enjoying watching the video, and your cooking. Always wanted to see you lighting the fire and get the dinner going.
I really like you tarp videos. Its rare you see people testing out different configurations in 'normal' surroundings and then actually using them. Really appreciated.
Excellent tarp configurations . This one in particular can transform very easily into whatever you need on the fly. Primrose has different personalities. Ha! When you put the flap on the outside was a spot of genius.
