For all you haters, please remember that this engine, probably weighing a couple hundred pounds, was delivered on a motor bike by a guy wearing flip flops. The whole repair was done with the most basic tools. He did his repairs on the floor. I'm pretty sure he could not afford several thousand dollars of tools and machinery, did not have a Summit Racing or other parts store shop nearby, and also did not have an overhaul booklet listing the torque settings for all the bolts, even if he had the wrench. He's learned how to get junk running, with the least amount of spending. I think he did a great job and will be able to fix the engine again when needed.

At 10:37 and following, that looks like it might not be rust on the bottom, but the remnants of red lead applied to the steel to protect it. You do *not* want to breathe dust from that, so be careful. Also, whenever you tighten bolts in a circular pattern, always tighten them opposed (i.e. for six bolts arranged clockwise with 1 at top, 1-4-2-5-3-6). Gaskets will seat more reliably. And lastly, when you're hammering on something, you'll use a lot less effort if you hammer downwards and let gravity help you, or, if hammering sideways, back the piece up against something so that it doesn't slide around and waste the energy of your strike. Good functional restoration/renovation. I love seeing old equipment run again!

Nice try, hope someone can help you with your mechanical education. I suggest learn micrometers,feeler gauges,valve lash,ring end spaces,&dry ice to slip fit bearings. Rod bearings.

No se checó ninguna tolerancia de ajuste en el metal del cigüeñal, ni en las válvulas, también se pintó sin tapar el interior del monoblock, no afecta en el funcionamiento??. Ojala´todas las rehabilitaciones fueran así. Saludos.

Es un trabajo de motor.de basto uso no es de auto.que son mas sofisticados..no se ve que use para apretar..llaves dinamometricas.ni medicion de tolerancias....o no se ve......

advice for you .. good job, but !! the way to install loyal components is too rough, and you don't use grase on the crankshaft installation .. you also don't do cleaning and polishing on every component. even though it is important so that the machine can be used for a long time

Hello everyone. I'm new in the forum. I have a 28-foot sailboat, made in Argentina. ( I am from Argentina) . My sailboat has a diesel engine of Chinese origin. The motor brand is SHUANGNIAO Diesel Model 275 WAC. 12,5 Hp Manufactured by: HANGZHOU General Diesel Works. I need if someone knows him. Who can have the manual for that engine. Or if someone knows on what basis it was copied, to adapt the spare parts. Thank you so much

Why didn't you sandblast that much parts instead of using an angle grinder?

Any sort of sandblasting setup is orders of magnitude more expensive than an angle grinder. At minimum you need a heavy duty shop compressor with a big tank for the media gun, plus the blasting media. Easily several hundred dollars if you don't already have it. Blasting cabinets are even more.
