There should be a spin-off series where the Nameless Boy reincarnates with his memories intact. Or simply an AU where he actually succeeded and becomes an adventure. He's such a sweet and pure boy. He didn't deserve his death.
Coming back to this anime's soundtrack after a while is just like "oo pretty music-" and then you get hit with an emotional semitruck when you remember what happens in the first episode
I remember reading the manga about 3 years ago when it was called "To you, the immortal" just after I watched End of Evangelion, this messed me up for a week and even more when I realized in chap 30+ that we won't see this nameless boy again due to some reason.
This reminds me so much of Thomas Newman's scores for things like the Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile. It fits sooo well. "I'm tired, boss. Tired of bein' on the road, lonely as a sparrow in the rain. Tired of not ever having me a buddy to be with, or tell me where we's coming from or going to, or why. Mostly I'm tired of people being ugly to each other."
I don't know how to describe it but it's just *crushing* .The part right before it sounds a little 'optimistic', right before going fully emotional if that makes sense. Like if you were still clinging on hope, before realising/accepting fate.
i hoped he wouldve stayed as a ghost so that fushi could bring him back but i guess it makes sense that he didnt. imagine dying and seeing your dog turn into you and just walk away.
