Great video Mike, concise and informative. I’ve been sold on the idea of a Fumpa pump for a while but have not decided what size. You’ve convinced me the larger Fumpa is the way to go. I've had bad experiences with frame mount pumps and don't like the look. The Fumpa Nano was the best choice for my road bikes. Fits in an under seat bag and works flawlessly. Thanks for the review.
The only thing that keeps me from carrying one on the bike is the risk of not being able to seat a tubeless tire after a flat. I like the super fast inflation offered by CO2s. But if I were running tires with tubes, I’d do what you’re doing.
Mike, good luck on your Haute Route Dolomites rides. Regarding the pump, another alternative is to buy a pump with lower capacity and a battery pack that can be used to charge it as well as other devices like your phone, bike computer, Shimano electronic shifting mechanisms, etc. Best to get one with USB C as it offers the quickest charging capability. It's always good to have a manual, non electronic back-up, kind of like bringing a compass along with a GPS unit. Keep us abreast of your ride experience.
Thanks, Norm! Yeah, the battery pack is a good versatile option, especially if you need to charge something else. Turns out there are about a half dozen pumps lying around in the hotel bike room, so I may not even use it on this trip. Heavy rain and cold temps today and for Stage 1 tomorrow. They are calling for snow on top of Stelvio Pass. Going to force myself to do a short shakedown ride this morning. I’ll see how long I last 😬
Good point. I forgot to mention that. Double tap the round button to cycle through the three units (psi, kPa, Bar). Horizontal LED lines will scroll to the right towards the unit label it is currently set for.
