I don't remember that being invisible is sufficient, but yes, if you can use invincibility potions and the dialogue options to circumvent your death, he can't execute you more than once. He'll call you master if you have taken over the Sorcerer's Enclave, maybe there's a way to short-circuit that.

Not quite the same thing, but many years ago I remember there was a space trading/exploration game called Starflight that had this copy protection system in it (as many games at the time did) where whenever you launched from a space station, you had to consult a star chart that was included with the game and answer questions based on it. If you got it wrong you were allowed to leave the station and proceed as normal. However, not long after that you'd get intercepted by the 'space police' (like, I think it was literally a police car flying through space flashing its lights), who basically said "surrender or die." If you surrendered the game exited to DOS, but you could and try and fight them as well (I think they were basically impossible to beat, though). It was a pretty cool idea, and much better than the way that most games would just immediately boot you out.

U8 wasn't a great game, are you kidding me? it's the worst ultima except for U9. If you are into platforming, try mario, not ultima
