After our brush with Tropical Storm Bertha, we hide away in the Charleston Harbor Marina. With the help of our electric scooters, we explore and have some fun in Charleston before it's time to sail again. Together we sail to Winyah Bay where we find a beautiful and secluded anchorage.

We love going to Charleston. It has such a great vibe and food! I think we actually stayed at the hotel next to that marina last Christmas.

So happy your checking out our stories! Those scooters have been the best purchase, Segway Ninebot Max. When we were in the Bahamas, and covid first happened, we couldn’t get our propane filled. It would have been an entire days walk and public transportation was not running. We ended up coming back to the states because of it. So... never wanting to be in that situation again... scooters! They’re a blast and we use them all the time - all powered by our solar panels! -Mandi

Thanks!! It makes me nervous too, which is why Brian’s up there lol. He took to it right away, literally couldn’t wait for me to pull him up there with the halyards. I think it mostly had to do with peoples individual comfort levels - Mandi

The distances you are going with those electric scooters is far more than I would have expected. Its quite a Hike from the Aircraft Carrier over the bridge and into Charleston proper.

It is a hike! And keep in mind we rode around ALL of the downtown Charleston. These scooters have a range of 40 miles, max speed of 18mph, and feel like they go on forever. Best purchase we made for travel on land considering we don’t have cars -Mandi

@@TakeTheWaters All you need now is Folding Scooter trailers for Provisioning. Until your demo I would never considered a scooter for onshore transportation. Even at a real 20 miles it would be impressive. 40 is quite something.

Charleston is one of our favorite places. You are right about the food. What is the range of those scooters?? You went a lot of miles on that outing.

The range for Mandi is probably 35 miles. For me it's 20. We'll switch scooters half way through the day to even it out. -Brian

So what kind of harness/climbing rig was that? My wife has suffered from chemotherapy and has lost the strength of her hands to handle sending up the mast. Need a plan B that I can do myself. Thanks.
