hey Jeff, i have a question, what is the name that iconic mountain that you always see in the background of all the cowboy movies and cowboy shows filmed at Old Tucson studios?
My research turned up a Basque origin: haritz ona = the good oak Here is just one of several sources: aleteia.org/2018/08/22/where-does-the-name-arizona-come-from/
Hey Jeff, if possible, make a video about cost of living specifically in comparison to areas like Los Angeles or other areas around the country that people are relocating from. Thanks man keep up the great content
I thought San Francisco peak was named by missionaries in honor of Saint Francis of Assisi. It's hard to believe they could see lights in a city that didn't exist yet when the peaks were found and named in the 1600s
The peak is named Humphreys Peak and the range is named San Francisco Peaks. That is the rumor that used to circulate around Arizona back in the 80's and 90's. If you grew up in Arizona or went to Flagstaff you would have heard about that "rumor". The city of San Francisco is named after St Francis of Assisi. Could the rumor of how it got its name be wrong? Sure. Maybe Wikipedia and or other online publications are more accurate than the rumor that used to circulate around Arizona locals on how it got its name.
