I moved to Phoenix at the age of 19 and lived there for 8 years. This album sums up perfectly my time in the valley and all the emotions I have when I look back on my time there and the people that I still love that are there. My heart will always have a soft spot for the valley of the sun and Arizona as a whole. Some of the best people I have ever met reside in the 602. "You know the night life is just not for me 'Cause all you really need are a few good friends." Thanks Nate for helping a kid connect to a new city at such a young age.
Crazy to see them playing Kilby Court. I wish I would have been there, but to be fair I didn't know they existed until pretty much everyone knew that Fun. existed.
Was there in Tempe at the Clubhouse before they became huge! Sat next to Nate at the bar Nice to be part of a band becoming stars. Wish I would have bought him a shot before the show.!
For those of you who never attended a The Format show in the Phoenix area early 2000's, this is actually pretty close to what it was like except Sam is a way better guitarist than Jack, and there were way less people on stage ... and we probably sang more of the songs than Nate actually did. It was really magical.
I love how much the others look like they're enjoying playing this song! And as much as I ADORE The Format, hearing Format songs performed full band (or should we call them a mini supergroup?!) like this is great!
I'm a 23 year old guy, and this performance brought me to tears. It my high school nostalgia. And Nate looks like he is having the best time and the crowd was so into it, amazing
The Format seems to have more soul than Fun. has. Maybe because it's because of Nate and Sam's bond throughout the years that gave the band a central heart. I don't know, but I can honestly say that The Format will always be greater than Fun. in my eyes.
are you kidding, I love tiny shows. I mean at Kilby it's really crappy if your in the middle of the room (believe it or not the back is better than the middle because of the platform to stand on) but it was nice to have such an intimate show. Just think you'll never have a show like this again with fun.
someone would tell me what's the words he sings just before crying? It's not in the song ... And as I'm a french speaker, I'm struggling to understand what he says...
ryebread42699 this venue is in a tiny old garage, so space is limited. The band is on a platform about 6 inches high and the only thing separating them from the crowd is their monitors on the ground. Usually bands that are this well known play bigger venues. Some performers stand back a little more than this, but yeah, the front row is like a half an arms reach away.
This song is hereby proclImed the Caucasian American national anthem. Now the NBA or whatever will need to play three anthems. So let's cause a scene, clap our hands, stomp our feet.
