Love shimmer inks! Diamine is great, but I also love pilot iroshizuku inks. De Atramentis has some amazing copper/rose gold shimmer inks too😊

You can repair the glass pen by rubbing some micro mesh, a nail buffer (the coarse and then buffing sides), or some very fine high grade sandpaper on the tip to smooth it back out. My passion is Diamine and Sailor inks- I have almost all the Diamines and am slowly collecting the Sailors. I paint with them, though, (whole big paintings- you want to see magic, put down some fountain pen ink and then brush it with a damp brush- when the water hits it, it splits out into many colors...) so I use a lot more ink than I do with my pens. Also check out Birmingham Ink- they have some BEAUTIFUL colors.

The glass pen didn’t make it. Totally shattered, but no biggie. That’s so cool about painting. I’ve done some amateur pairing with the glass pen and watercolor brushes. So fun. Thank you!

Yay finally getting a chance to watch this!!!! (Too much time out of town this summer, I’m so behind on RU-vid lol). I totally went on the same journey as you of starting out assuming that I would probably like smaller pens with finer nibs and instead discovering that what I actually preferred was bigger pens with broader nibs that can handle lots of fun inks. I still use the finer nibs especially in planners but I’ve found that my ideal pen for journaling is basically an ultrasmooth broad nib hydroplaning on a fire hose of ink 🤣. The Diamine Golden Sands is gorgeous…I need to try that one omg.

I'm so glad you're watching. Yeah, now that I've played with these dupes, I have a wishlist of the "real" pens I want to get. I like a heavy weight to the pen and a broad nib so I can see the shading and the sheening. I'm digging the sparkly/two toned kinda inks too. So my dream pen/ink for now is the Kaweco brass sport with the J Herbin's Emerald of Chivor ink. Coming soon...one day...we'll see. lol.

@@MarleneTheresa let me know if you’d be interested in acquiring a brass sport at a significant discount! I’m planning to sell mine…I love it but I only use it for travel which seems like a waste. It has an EF nib so you’d probably want to get a broader nib for it but Kaweco replacement nibs are only about $15 and they just screw in…super easy to replace. Anyway just thought I’d mention in case you’re interested 😆

That box of ink looks like calligraphy ink, if so, don't put it in a fountain pen. It is not safe for the pen. It could ruin the mechanism.
