Loved this Maddie! You and Mayleen should open up the PD chat for Jen Jones guided reading videos to k-1 teachers. I’d love to do it and discuss with you guys ❤️ I loved doing the GYTO virtual sessions the first round. I learned so much! Deanna Jump is amazing! Can’t wait to see more from you on RU-vid sweet friend 💕🌟 AND CONGRATS ON 10K 🎉🎉
I love professional development too! Thank you so much for sharing these resources. I just signed up for the educators 2 educators conference and I've already purchased and watched some of the sessions from the GYTO K/1st grade. However, I've noticed that many of the sessions are applicable for other grades! There are great tips and strategies that I want to implement in my 2nd grade classroom. It's fun to see your personality come out in your videos :)
Yes! I totally agree - even the K/1 sessions can be applicable to other grades, too! Thanks so much, friend!! I always appreciate your support & encouragement 💕
Thank you for all the great information! One study that I have done for the last 4 summers is a Bible study with Teachers In the Word. It’s not a PD, but it’s a Bible study written by 2 teachers for teachers. This summer’s study is in Joshua. ☺️
There is a great channel on RU-vid - A Not So Wimpy Teacher. She has a lot of videos about guided groups - reading and math. Thanks for the PD recommendations!
I loved the GYVTO too! I signed up for the e2e conference thanks for the information!! Anyone interested in Whole Brain Teaching- they have free zoom sessions you can sign up for. They are fantastic!!
Cassie Tabrizi from Create-abilities has great free webinars on her Create-abilities website. I believe she has 6 or 7. They were great and very informative. Also Mr. Greg from The Kindergarten Smorgasboard. I love him! He had something like 15-20 of his webinars posted on his website. I loved those too. I’m not sure how long he will keep them up to be accessed but definitely check them out!
Thank you SO much for sharing! I’ll be a first year teacher in the fall, and I’ve been loving summer PD! Last month I did Jen Jones’ Guided Reading PD on FB - it is fantastic!!! I learned so much! 🙌🏻
YAY! You are so welcome! What grade will you be teaching, Sierra? I am about halfway through her Facebook series now - they are SO good! Lots of great info. I agree - I learned a lot!!
I love meaningful PD! Thanks for sharing! I'm interested to know how you are planning for this fall. I teach in NC and we are expecting more guidance this week about reopening.
Me too! ❤️ I always appreciate when trainings are meaningful and have a clear purpose and actionable next steps. When I know more, I will share! Things are very much still up in the air right now.
I crack myself up sometimes, too! Get ready for the book haul video I'm going to upload today... LOTS of bloopers in that one! 😂 Thank you, Kaylyn! I always appreciate your support ❤️
For me it depends on the PD. If it is a district/school PD, I tend to dread those because most of the time, I'm not learning anything new. But, I do enjoy PDs that offer new ideas. I went to Learning Without Tears in October and it was amazing and so eye-opening. Love the top btw, it's super cute.
Yes, I totally agree! I enjoy ones that offer fresh & new ideas. I've heard great things about Learning Without Tears - I didn't realize that they had PD too! I will have to check it out, thanks for sharing. Thanks so much! I got it from Marshalls in February 😊
I’m so glad you posted today, I love watching your videos they make my day so much better. I’m still in high school and have no idea what I want to do with my life but watching all of your helpful videos makes me want to be an elementary school teacher!! Your making a difference!!!
I've been doing a lot of the same PD's as you this summer! I'm loving all of them! The PB&J series by Jen Jones has been awesome and I'm looking forward to her HelloLitCon coming soon! Glad to know that you are a PD geek like me -- it's how I recharge my teacher battery each year!! Yea!! :)
That's awesome!! I think I am going to buy some of the PB & J recordings to watch too. I'm about halfway through Jen's Facebook Guided Reading series now and they are SO good! Yes!! Nice to know that others feel the same way, too!
