@@ridgemanron I thought so too at first, but did you notice Angelina singing a Whitney Houston song at 18 months? We all thought Billie Holiday was her main influence, but she said it was Whitney. Even dedicated a song to her at the Vegas concert. James explained it to me this way: I think in the case of Whitney, the difference is the words INFLUENCE and INSPIRATION; Angelina has said Whitney is her "ALL TIME INSPIRATION", however Billie is one of her Biggest stylistic Influences. I think that is an important statement as it captures / explains the dichotomy between the strong INFLUENCE Jazz has had on her singing style / technique vs. Whitney INSPIRING her as a Person / singer. I think even most ANGELs don't realize that the singer she looks up to more than any other is Whitney, vs. one of the Jazz greats that she often cites as Influencing her style. ​@@KenChawkin But Angelina's roots are JAZZ. Her entire essence is Jazz. The first person she emulated was Billie Holliday. Sure we gave video of her singing I Will Always Love You at age 1½, but throughout her career, it's always been Billie that she mentions first, lists first as her main influence, which carries far more weight than you're attributing.
