This video shows some of the fun things you can do with PIKO Digital. If you want basic info on getting setup with PIKO G-Digital, that video is located here. • Getting started with P...
This video gives starts you on simple programming used in a PIKO G Scale Digital System. Jonathan goes over the benefits, and ease of use in the PIKO system including the fact that you don't have to have a digital system to enjoy the digital sound on PIKO locomotives with a digital sound card. (You do need a digital system to change sounds like the bells, whistles, and horns pre-programmed into the sound card. However once you have your loco programmed the sounds will stay in effect and work on any non-digital controlled track, and the loco will cycle through the program so you hear shoveling coal and brake squealing among other things.)

Can you detect that with another engine like mth USA trains and aristocraft trains Or only with piko engine like.

PIKO G-Digital is fully NMRA compliant and should work with any other NMRA compliant model or decoder, even early LGB locos.

Es tut uns auch Leid, dass wir sprechen hier nur ein bischen Deutsch, nicht gut genug, eine Video zu machen. Vielen Dank, und Gruesse von PIKO America.

Hi Jonathan , could you make a video like this one (wich is very helpful and precise ) on running more than one loco together .the step by step programming operations like you do on video would be more easy to understand than what is discribed in the Navigator operation manual .

That's a pretty good idea! I think we might try to add it to our list of videos to make in the future.

I have a Bachmann EZ command, will it work on channel 3.

@wifi2017 daybreak, Hi. The PIKO G-Digital System is a complete digital system for G-Gauges trains using parallel or serial digital commands. EZ-Command is Bachmann's own controller system. The PIKO G-Digital System will work to control any loco equipped with an NMRA-standard decoder.

Would this work on g scale dcc bachmann trains

Tyson, PIKO G-Digital works on any NMRA compliant decoder as well as very early MTS decoders. You can ask Bachmann about their decoders, but I am pretty sure they use SoundTraxx or other decoders that follow NMRA specs. (Maybe you can ask them about the decoder they use? As long as it is NMRA compatible/compliant you should not have any issues.)

will the Piko system work with other decoders and different brands of trains like USA and Aristocraft

Hi Kenneth: Sorry for a bit of delay in the reply. Your post slipped past us earlier. Yes, The PIKO G Digital System works with any brand of DCC decoders and is also one of the few systems to work with older MTS "serial" decoders, as well as being able to operate many non-decoder "analog" locos - for example, if a friend brings a loco to run on your layout. While almost any loco can, with widely varying amounts of effort involved, have a decoder installed in it, the main concern is that some brands of locos really consume a lot of power, as much as 3 or 4 amps per loco. That uses up much of the capacity of a digital system pretty quickly, to run just one or two locos. PIKO locos are very efficient. Our "Crazy for Camelbacks" video shows 6 PIKO locos with sound and smoke, all running on a basic 5-amp system. Best regards, Jonathan

Hi Im going to have someone Install the esu lok sound v4 XL In a G scale Gp38 2 could I still use that system?
@PIKOAmerica
@PIKOAmerica 7 лет назад
Absolutely. The PIKO Digital System should be just fine operating any brand of DCC decoder. Keep in mind that that brand of loco has a bit of a reputation for consuming a lot of current, so it's going to use up much of the system's capacity by itself. Some folks say 3 Amps or more per loco. I'm not sure if it's just less efficient motors, but I have heard that removing the original electronics (which you'd do when installing the decoder) helps reduce the current draw. But anyway, the system should run the decoder quite well.

So.... will this work with LGB locomotives? And any others?
@PIKOAmerica
@PIKOAmerica 6 лет назад
Yes, PIKO Digital will operate basically any brand of DCC decoders. And it also operates all LGB locos with their MTS decoders, even back to the oldest "MTS I" decoders. You can easily select on the Navigator which style of data communication you need for each individual loco, whether the old serial pulses required by MTS I locos (push function button 6 and wait a couple seconds while the system sends 6 pulses to the loco, kind of like an old rotary dial phone) or modern MTS III / DCC "Parallel" data (functions activate instantly). Not all digital systems will accommodate those old locos. PIKO Digital does!
