Just got back from my first class tonight, anybody can do this. I for one will keep taking it as it is amazing. And also I have practiced muay thai, and aikido. Systema is the real thing. Also when you take that hit from the instructor, I promise you it hurt like hell, the whole way down you're intestines, and I got hit in the chest right breast as to not hit the heart.

In the cage there are rules. Systema is not about fighting in a cage with rules, etc... it's about doing whatever you have to do to defend yourself, and your strikes can sometimes be fatal. In other words, the efficiency of systema will not be properly expressed in a cage, rather than on the street, or in the war (systema started as a military martial art, now it's taking a more civilian shape so people can learn it)

У Владимира достаточно русских или лучше сказать русскоязычных учеников. А так как он живёт в Канаде, то логично видеть англоязычных учеников.Для тех,кто из России,посетите занятия Михаила Васильевича Рябко.Он наставник Владимира.

vasilev is only teacher in systema and his teacher is not even close who can surprise even good fighter in real fight. no he cant fight like good mma fighter but still he has chance to surprise opponent because he uses different kind of moments not just stright but from different weird angels!if he is hit he is gone but if u will hit him a way that is too simple he will take u out for sure.his idea is as that: if u will strike him he moves in and takes your balance out.if you attack his legs he will attack yours before you create a point of max contact. and if u will wrestler him he will move from sides and take u off your balance with weird strikes and throws.but still he is too slow to overcame real speed attack with experienced fighter.but he is dangerous for anybody who thinks that it will be easy task to take him out with some primitive attack!that just dosent happen!he will take out u!but the idea is great all systema is very high level martial art.

@leesupra6618
@leesupra6618 10 лет назад
the idea here is very simple we are fighting like robots one two, one two! but there are 100 of different angels we never use.one can find in close study that he creates moments almost spontanous way and so he seldom uses same strike to same place twice!and hence the moment or surprise any time he strikes!
@IHLWonk
@IHLWonk 10 лет назад
Hence why Systema is different to everyone. ;)
@leesupra6618
@leesupra6618 10 лет назад
very high level is use only2 things and be effective. even more is using only one simple thing and stil its effective towards any style or systema.the great fighters have only few things that they use in real combat low level fighters have 100 and more!beginners have mess of all kind of knowladge and technique! so far no soft style has never tried it in mixed martial art fights.if that happens and one can win in that way his systema would be proven one!
@Kynnar
@Kynnar 12 лет назад
Beautiful movement!.. it shows how simple Systema appears on the outside, and yet how much complexity there is in the natural / improvised movement, and how much to study. Also, the movement is minimal and and without any unnecessary parts - which makes it very quick, responsive and devastating, especially when combined with multiple movements (defending and attacking at the same time) -
@CBHDK59
@CBHDK59 7 месяцев назад
many are taken by techniques alone and don't see how fast an enemy can be. if the body is not struggling one is not fighting (here i'am referring to body movements.) techniques demonstrations is one thing, a body in fighting tension is another.
@theocp
@theocp 12 лет назад
Donald, you have to understand that this isn't a demonstration of Systema, but rather Vlad showing the guys an exercise that they will be doing. If it is a Systema demonstration you want then go to the nearest class and ask for one. With your 20 years experience, you of all people should understand that watching any physical activity on a video will not give you an understanding of it or the benefits... you have to do it and experience it. So please, try it out before commenting.

I guess they dun start with systema first, perhaps in the military they cross train in different fighting systems before go to systema for more advanced training. Is this possible?

Well you think, MMA Fighters couldn´t play dirty? Just because their working within an sport context, doesn´t mean they can´t. Or do you goes in systema practise eyegouging etc. full contact? Of course not. Your pretenting to do so, because its training. So systema has actually rules (in training). A MMA fighter in the street isnt bound by rules, and (before that argument comes) its natural to double leg ppl down (for all humans). Is that generelly a good idea? cous not. (Multipe opponents)
@joergus

It sort of looks like that, until you receive a hit from Vlad, or a senior Systema practitioner - i found that this helped me appreciate the real power of these hits, first-hand!.. But i know what you mean - it doesn't look like these should be strong hits, and yet, they somehow really are quite devastating; especially if you have tension in your body. If you are relaxed and moving well, some of the punches can be "survived" -

Vasiliev has skill, even though i have never seen him IRL, based on his videos, but i highly doubt he acquired those skills by practicing the way he is teaching. To learn being so 'formless' you have to train with proper form, or you end up just like those ki aikido drones
@TFSMikeRath
@TFSMikeRath 12 лет назад
Relaxed, whipping shots going at angles that cause damage. You have to train to pull this off, but kung fu guys understand this too.

its a form of controlled breathing unique to systema , similar to the japanese kiai u see in kendo , jujutsu and many karate schools , it helps u to focus and with good relaxation aids in ignoring the pain

anybody else notice that these systema videos pracitcally never cover blows to the head. but in reality head is the sweetest spot to hit . and an attacker might want to beat you unconscious not beat your chest. will like to see the best way to dodge massive numerous blows to the head and take down a lunatic whose throwing punches left and right
@daveharrison7707
@daveharrison7707 7 лет назад
ive been training in systema for about 3 years now. a lot of the blows to the body are to do with breaking /weakening structure. however we do cover blows to the head in our training, ie slipping punches etc and placing them.

How long does it take to get a grip on martial arts?
@stevenschleps3747
@stevenschleps3747 7 лет назад
Mike Liu that depends on you. IMO it takes a minimum of ten years. if you are athletic it comes more easily. some systems are similar to others, and some are vastly different! the motto I teach my students is,"Ten years to Black Belt. A lifetime to Mastery. Good luck with it.

Wat?! They're far from alike. I mean, in some areas yes, but sort of what Michael said, if you just can't be fucked being fancy, locking and throwing... hit them, wherever. Systema also can often involve such little effort. Such as 1:31. In all honesty, I haven't really seen any martial art use a body part like that, to block.
