Thinking of going back to school. Went straight to the workforce after high school, I’ve. Been working as a Diesel Engine Mechanic since 19 yrs old. I’m 33 now and I feel like it’s time for me to progress more. Kinda scared of going to college by wasting time. I’ll watch these courses and see if college is good for me. As of now, a lot of the things being mentioned in the beginning of the video is stuff I know, since my jobs offer training.

I'm only seeing this for the first time, now... Excellent. Except for 1 thing... An engine's serpentine belts, that run externally ON ANY engine.. Do NOT run the fuel pump... Water pump... YES... Alternator and aircon... as well as Power steer if it's hydraulic... YES... But, Fuel and oil pumps are usually run off a lobe on the crank or camshaft... Depending on what engine layout we are speaking of... AND/OR a fuel, oil or water pump can be electrical... The majority of engines these days are computer controlled and so Fuel is most definitely delivered via an in tank electric pump...

Not true that engineers never design past the yield point of a material (regarding stress strain curve (47:41) ). This depends on application, in many cases designing a part past yield is acceptable, especially in the case of a lower temper material where the elastic region is small relative to the rest of the stress-strain curve, a certain level of plastic deformation can be planned for.

When it comes to your lecture which I connected to the energy shields design for example U.S, your parallel square line based structure design with a center mode for energy going vertical then the side structures line diagonally upward also forming a triangle whose energy point passage at the edge point of Triangle to whatever purpose the outside of angled triangle lines projection of energy or connectivity, I think it's stable structure because it's angular like a reversed diamond tough and hard to break if with energies shields against Space bombardments of comets or beams, the problem was it is protruding and easy to spot unlike the Earth slope curve hugging curving also energy structure resilient against beams which could bounce to it's curve if attacked within Earth atmosphere but also not as hard structurally like the triangle structure shield against space threats and hittable by space barrage but because it's a slope with energy it's stable in its circles but the angular energy shields are better against space threats, meaning it depends upon application and purpose, and because it's U.S you're free to design your defense structure shield given the image of that Triangle shield in space was that of an X within square if viewed from above, only if you will push through with that to protect U.S Let it be

I kinda feel smart and stupid at the same time but maybe I shouldn't, on the lubrication question I guessed right well a logical guess if you wish, I felt smart because I got it right but I also felt dumb because I got a bit worked up for getting such a simple question right but then I thought about maybe it wasn't simple and I had every reason to feel smart, and now I don't know what to feel, lol. With the fracturing profiles is it odd that I pictured in my head different materials breaking and I guess them right (including when that person said titanium)?

Well that dimmensioning is done wrong because lines of dimmensions cannot cross over others, the diameters cannot be drawn along axes of symmetry, the distance between 2 parralel dimmension lines must be around 7-10 mm and equal one between another. And many others.

any line through a circle centre is a axis of symmetry, but yes drawing dim lines over centrelines should be avoided.

As in, the increase or decrease of meters per second for every second that passes. In other words, a unit of acceleration/deceleration

You just gotta take it at your own pace, mate. It's not too hard, it just takes time, like learning a language.

I'm stuck on deciding what I want to do for college, and if I catch on to this easily then I'm doing mechanical engineering.

if you want to learn about drawing you should learn it from 3d drawing books .The drawing shown here is already made and he has not shown how to draw. This is pretty much low standard.

Good video but the questions were a bit too obvious. "Why do we want things to be neat and clear?" So the manufacturer knows wtf he's looking at? Was kinda hoping for questions that lead to answers that weren't brutally obvious. other than that it was a pretty good video.

i think he is re-enforcing the idea of writing information neat and clear by getting you to think about it. this video is part of the advanced diploma. Rob is my favorite tutor he is the most engaging; asks the most questions.

Rona asid Yea he did a good job explaining things but, for me, of the teachers can't ask good or interesting questions to keep you on your feet, the class gets really boring.
