Casino Santiago especially compare to the dumb stories of today's hip hop. I can just imagine in 20 yrs "remember that meme he did of me? So I got at him on twitter and we went back n forth. Shit was lit"
These old Roca Fella Def Jam Era stories never get old, especially hearing them from different perspectives. The late 90s and early 2000's was the golden age of Hip Hop for me... born 86" #salute It's funny everybody who speak about J now "kiss the ring" back in the day J had allot of haters #salute to that brother too.
Def Jam needs to wisen up & do a truly detailed documentary of that whole "Def Jam 2000" era that began around late '97 after Big died & with the release of the 1st Nutty Professor soundtrack. From that point up until Ja Rule's 2nd album, they dominated with hard rap music. That's never talked about & needs to be.
this is a classic freaking interview, say what you want about Irv but he was that dude who put on a lot of the biggest acts in the late 90s. love hearing these old hip-hop stories
It's crazy when you realize a decade later that these guys made millions for a reason. They were street smart and book smart. These are the same types of guys that build countries.
@@blu2fquismac43 lmfaooo well ur comment aged like a glass of spoiled milk in the middle of the Sahara desert. Irv is still just as broke and irrelevant
Jason Severino yea but he was doing E for not so long until he caught that charge and sharpen up. It wasn’t like he was doing drugs all his life so maybe he lucked out idk Js 🤷🏾
this interview is so real and raw as f**k ... mad love to Flex and Gotti. I love hiphop... man if it wasn't for RU-vid I wouldn't have learnt so much like I did today watching this clip about what you guys were doing behind the scenes for hip hop and still get to be who you ya' all really are. God Bless You Both 😎
People always say Nas took what Rakim did and brought the street flavor to it, but the street flavor came from G Rap, Nas was considered baby G Rap and even is on the cover of G Rap's first solo album. Nas combined G Rap and Rakim to perfection and not to take anything away from the God, but G Rap played a huge part in molding the Nas that emerged on Illmatic.
@@elitellife6327 even if he never said it, once ja rule started singing 50 clowned him for it and went and started singing, to some degree 50 admired rule
Just now finishing this interview 😂 but this one and the Fat Joe one was a straight up HISTORY LESSON! Glad I got to learn more about them, truly enjoyed it. -Coming from a 19 year old ✊
Flex, he disagrees about the Illmatic album...move on! The interview didn't get to 2 1/2 hours due to questions. Its all that extra shit Flex be doing.
Jackie Sears Yyyooo!!! You see that too right! I swear, Flex interviews are full of fillers, name dropping and trying to prove to people how close he is to the interviewee. Sucka shit.
Word Life make no mistake FMF is an iconic figure in HipHop and be around for almost 25 years....maybe longer....he carried recirds for Chuck Chillout....THE LEGEND...FMF is aggravating....he loves the sound of his voice....ye always looking for validation...he a bitch so U gotta expect that....but U cant take NOTHING FROM SUN...he broke records....he made your career or broke ya career....he is affiliated with everything historic and iconic in NYC hip hop history
Man this interview is fucking classic and I'm not even half way done yet! This is one of the best interviews I've seen in a long time. I dont think people realize just how dope this interview is, I have a feeling that people are gonna look back at this interview a few years from now and realize just how deep it is! Its allot of history in this interview.
4 years later and this comment is STILL under rated and STILL just as true as it was 4 years ago when u made it! Respect bro! I couldn’t agree with this anymore then I do right now!!! ✊💯
I love both hands down, but Nas takes the crown. I honestly didn't even have to think about it. Both Reasonable and Illmatic are in the same category as far as conversation goes no question. But Illmatic surpasses Reasonable Doubt.
Ok Flex. You need to continue interviews like these because YOU WERE THERE AND APART OF THE HISTORY. Shouts out to Irv for continuing to add on to the culture. Flex you can beat Nores DC if you stick to legends like Gotti and Joe Crack. #keepgoing
IRV GOTTI LORENZO. YOU JUST WON MY LOYALTY WITH THIS INTERVIEW. I WOULD SPEND MY LAST MONEY ON ANYTHING YOU PRODUCE OR TOUCH . I WILL PAY FOR IT EVEN IF I CAN GET IT FOR FREE.
Given his genuine passion, experience, & knowledge of hip-hop; Irv should strongly consider starting a podcast. I love to hear him talk about the industry.
