Thanx! On my jazz basses I mostly use Ernie Ball super slinky strings. I like my action set pretty low, but without buzzing, so I adjust the truss rod 'till there's a slight curve in the neck on which I can leave the bridge saddles quite low. I usually lift the bridge a tiny bit on the E & A string so I can dig in a bit deeper without getting unwanted rattle. I like my bridge pickup a bit higher & closer to the strings 'cause I feel that gives me a bit of a sharper tone & more attack. That's pretty much the basic setup I do when I get my hands on a jazz.
