This interview was inspiring and passionate. I purchased the OC818 to act as my primary workhorse. I believe in you Austrian Audio, thank you caring about the musicians, Martin!

I think these microphoses will become the new studio standart just like the old C 414 or the C 12 used to be! Well done guys!!! These mics just sound fantastic on any instrument!

I took delivery of an OC818 last week and it is a really fantastic mic.

I was just about to buy a TLM 102, but a great sound engineer of Spain and friend of mine strongly recommended me to check the Austrian Audio mics, so in the end, after a bit of research, reviews and comparisons, I went for your flagship, the OC818. I'm still waiting for it to arrive home, but I foresee I won't regret it, I'm incredibly enthusiastic about this great piece of craftsmanship!

He seems to really love the old brand and the new company he has created which is Austrian Audio. Very passionate about and that means focus and success. He has moved in the right direction with the knowledge his team has in making these fantastic Microphones and other things. The Austrian Microphoned definetly are focused for the future and will be one of the most used Mics in studios in the future. They are fantastic. I am saving for one. I have a few AKG Mics and they are great but the Austrian Audio Mic look and sound the part. Great interview.

It's crazy how quickly these guys have rebuilt themselves from the ashes of the previous company, and have so quickly built such a rapport in the audio world. I never knew they had headphones as well, so I need to check them out too!

I can't wait until I can afford a half dozen or so of these. Being able to capture 3D recordings with multiple stereo mics in different planes would be incredible.

I don't even need another large diaphragm condenser, but after seeing this I'm sold. I'm picking up an OC818 next month based on seeing this guy wax poetic about his company's mic.

Well done Martin and all your brave collaborators who believed that the cultural and technological baggage of a large and historic company could not be thrown in the trash. I guess you will have passed "dark" times since the old company closed but ....... you won! Mythical!

I got OC18 today. I was shocked how good it is. I have have to sell all my Neumann's, Sennheiser's and Shure mics.

I recently learned of Austrian Audio from a microphone review by Podcastage, and after reading up on their products on their site and seeing several videos about them, I like this company a lot, and after this interview, even more. He seems very excited by his products and how they came to be, seems very genuine. And their products seem very interesting. Will start out by getting their Hi-X55 headphones and go from there.

Interesting guy. I think he is the real deal. It's a difficult time in the world to be getting one's groove back but once it sinks in with people that the real AKG gang is back and this time they are not chained to a dead weight corporate anchor they'll likely go from the red to the black. I'm hopeful. Martin seems like such a personable fellow I think he gives just enough inspiration to prospective buyers but not by going into the *Hello, fellow kids* territory or seeming like an executive suit worried about the stock price more than the product. He's a musical gear head and it shows, he seems to enjoy the getting your hands (or, in this case, ears and scopes) dirty part of it. I always hated the thought of Harmon and during those years there was just a sense that AKG was distant, cold and didn't care about improving anything but just falling back on legacy. Wish I were in a position to afford an OC818, I'd work it to the bone, run it up the pole just to see who salutes. lol

Martin Seidl is the man.

Oh how I wish the OC16 was included in this interview.

how to best compare the OC18 with Lewitt MTP 540 S? What are the differences in these two brands!? They both seem really great 😊cheers from 🇸🇪

I love all Austrian Audio Products. Have a lot of AKG's and Beyer Dynamic Mic's. These are the best mic's.

I’m definitely interested in the OC18.. the only aspect I’m concerned with is the spike at 5000khZ.. it’s an excellent microphone though and I could live with it.. I do also hope that AA can still function successfully during the difficult times in Austria..

I'm going to need a pair of oc818.

I like the high end on my voice of the omnidirectional pattern, but it takes away from the low end. Is their a way to use any of the software to tailor a pattern that has the omnidirectional’s high end while maintaining the depth of my voice the way the other patterns do?

What I would like to know is how did they split up into two companies and not only one. What happened so they could not agree on how to operate just one company instead of two. When it comes to Samsung, I never liked it. Their phones, other things, to me personally those were never an option. I purchased once a Samsung phone and sold it 5 days later, it was unbearable. Now after hearing this I dislike them even more. So basically there is no more Soundcraft, Lexicon? Incredible...
