I am a firm believer that if you are listening to good music when preparing your dishes they come out even tastier...spicy meatballs I'm doing tommrow are going to be awesome.cheers for the amazing upload😎
The Philly soul sound had a major influence on Bruce Springsteen. He sampled it heavily, trying to capture its wistfulness and a hope laced with personal defeat. That was the music playing on the boardwalk in the 60's, so of course it impacted him. I'm amazed that places like Philly and the Jersey shore influenced the path of the American experience, but logically, it was perfect. It was the most integrated place in our society at the time.
The cultural irony of my youth was that I felt left out. I wanted to be on the other coast, as did my friends. Today, the music of the East Coast from that time is more relevant. It causes introspection and a desire to live and move. I was in the eye of the storm and unaware.
Yes!!!! the original is only 150 seconds, this is definitely going onto the playlist. this is from the soul survivors in the event anyone is wondering.
unfortunatebeam yes it truely is and to think some women with this gorgeous hair cover it with fake hair and mess it all up trying to make it flat and straight! I don't get it! this hair is pretty kool!
I knew a place, when I was just a little boy I use to go there, oh it was my pride and joy I had no mom and dad then, but I met a wise women She told me son, you've got to sing, you sing from your soul little boy And I called her (mama soul) Yes I called her mama soul (mama soul) It's what I call her now (mama soul) Oh yeah Well I loved that place, the warm feeling in the air I use to sit there, mama soul, in her rocking chair And then one day I asked her, why her skin wasn't the same as mine You know what she said? She told me son, never you mind, just sing from your soul little boy And I loved her (mama soul) Yes I loved her mama soul (mama soul) How I love her now (mama soul) Oh mama soul Well I'm your boy (mama soul) Yes I'm your little boy (mama soul) Ohhhh (mama soul) Mama soul

The feeling of this song goes farther than the Funk, deeper into my Soul than the perpetual influx of information and stimuli offered by the vastness of the Web, and touches that place deep in my mind and my heart where only music of this immense emotional power can grasp at. Heed the words of Mama Soul sittin' in her rockin' chair, don't mind the colour of your skin, just sing from your Soul.

there is a reggae track by Jo Jo Bennett called "Leaving Rome" released late 60's early 70's...Both tracks i feel are linked or influenced each other, check it out, cheers Tony, London...And below, for those who may still be catching up, All peoples deserve Respect....
You are right, Metalman7, i give you all the reason. Black's music arrives to the heart, i hear when i smoke THC. J'aime beaucoup le musique afroamericainne. Greetings from Mexico.
I am a latino born in the 70s in NYC . maybe i love the this music because my parent were listening to this in the 70s when i was in my mother womb .. Celebration to the good music
Dammit! I listened to this in the office and my colleague was sitting there Photoshoppin' and Adobe Illustratin' and suddenly her hair blew up and became a huge Afro and she ends all of her sentences with "...baby" or "peace". She just asked me, "Say brutha, could you spare a moment to go on ahead and get me the updated logo file from the server? Peace." She's Asian! I am now being sued for excessive groove and inappropriate use of funk in the workplace.
@InfoRoom They still exist, gotta dig though. Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, Esperanza Spalding, Ayo, Muhsinah, India Arie, many more of course. Sadly, all the mainstream pop has taken over and that's what's praised for most folks.
Max Wheeler Catchy little ditty, huh? It had a nostalgia to it, even when it first came out. The message is so upbeat, being about harmony and understanding among people. "One day I asked her why her skin wasn't the same as mine. You know what she told me? Son, never you mind, just sing from your soul, little boy." That's poetry!
+Johnny Cage the only thing more annoying than Justin Bieber is people who go on You Tube and post things like "fuck Li' Wayne" and "So much better than Justin Bieber" etc. just to get a load of thumbs up.
Can anyone tell me where this 5 min + version comes from? Cause the original is aprox. 2: 30 with hardly a bassline. This one rocks like a jive in a beehive!!
