Willie is such a brilliant song writer, lyricist and performer. If that wasn’t enough, he’s a regular guy, doing things his own way, always a friend and a true Texan. I cherish having been able to witness this man perform with his road family. Willie will live on and on.
wow, I have been listening to Willie now for about, going on 50 years now. His magic, his chords, his voice has not changed in all those years... sure some age on him and trigger... mostly on trigger... I never get tired of listening to Willie and trigger. Never will. The good lord only gives us legends once in a while... enjoy while you can, and never let them die... Willie will never die as long as I live. God Bless you Willie. RIP to the possum... miss you much.
I knew you'd love me as long as you wanted and then someday you'd leave me for somebody new. Crazy for thinking that my love could hold you. I'm crazy for trying, I'm crazy for crying and I'm crazy for loving you.
Gone to see Willie every time he came to Georgia for the last 30yrs or so. He missed the show here a few days ago but has always showed up when on a long tour. We're lucky he's still around and doing good. That was possibly my last chance to see him live. He's back doing shows I think now so go see him if he comes close by. Do it
Love these old tunes...I get chills. Have seen Willie many many times over the years. Was blessed to be able to meet him twice. Two moments I will treasure always. Thanks for your music Mr. Nelson! Forever a fan.
went to the armadillo in 1972 with my best friends. willies first armadillo show. he played all his hits from the 60 era. i told my buddies i was going to meet him. went to the stage door hoping to get in. there he was. shook his hand and told him how good the music was, didnt have a reefer on me. but i would have gave him one if i had. i think he appreciated a long haired kid telling him he was good.
Hi Joe, thanks so much for sharing your memories with us! Must have been such a great show! Unfortunately there is almost no material, audio or video, out there from his Armadillo shows... did you take some pics of the show?
@@WillieNelsonCollection no. we had to hitchhike to and from the show, we were wanna be hippies going to see michael murphy. jeranimos cadilac was on the radio at the time. didnt know who willie was. just heard him all my younger years on occasion.
Saw him several times in Austin, TX. Rain that one year at his picnic. What a bunch of Mud we all waded in. But you know....it was still one of the best shows. What a showman!!
no cell phones to stare during the performance how boring. These people could be drawing attention themselves and Willie could have been their donkey, smile for the camera ... almost none of us can watch this with the attention these people had. We screwed ourselves. Everything is so impersonal now, it is all about the self. Seeing the crowd is a reminder of how far down the tubes we really are.
