@@user-sm9tk1ur8k A girl is cute, a woman is beautiful. That's the difference. Using the correct one depends on your situation, location and what you are talking about. I'd use kirei with women over 35-40 years of age and kawaii with younger ones, but I've told 20 year old girls that their kimono was beautiful (kirei) without trying to pick them up, just to make an observatory statement as I walked by and waved to them. Just make sure you know the difference between kirei and kirai. LOL

This was so cute Misa, I'm now a ナンパ師. On the real, I love how much detail you put into explaining every detail. You have no idea how helpful it is to me as someone living in Japan who wants to understand the language as thoroughly as possible Also funny to finally be able to understand what those nanpa dudes I see in Shibuya are saying to girls 😂

Misa-sensei, this is the first time I comment, but I wanted you to know that I'm truly grateful for your videos, which I discovered a few months ago. Your teaching is great; you always manage to show us useful and funny examples that help us remember the new words, expressions and grammar you teach. I've just got my Translation degree finished, and the languages I studied are English and Japanese, but still felt that my Japanese was so poor I was ashamed to say that I've been studying it for four years (there weren't too many hours of Japanese lessons in the degree, actually, but still feel I should be more fluent). But now, thanks to your videos, I feel much more confident with my Japanese. This is the kind of enjoyable content - instead of only boring, outdated books - I needed to assimilate well all the grammar I've been uselessly trying to memorise! (I could remember what I studied for my exams, but then I often forgot almost everything I had just learnt.) So thanks a lot for your help! I can't thank you enough. I can't afford to support you on Patreon by the moment, as I haven't got a job for a year now (still studying and depending on my parents), but I'll do it for sure as soon as I can. I've just recommended your channel and Instagram account on Instagram too - you probably won't be able to understand the text, though, as I did so in Spanish, which is the language that most of my followers speak, and also suggested they tried HelloTalk (although this is something I haven't done myself yet, as I'll a bit busy for a few weeks). I want to become an English teacher (and hopefully a Japanese one, some day) and you are a wonderful example of how a good teacher must be to me. I adore that you share vegan options in Japan on Instagram, too! That's information I will need when I finally travel to Japan. ありがとうございました! バルセロナからのご挨拶。😊

Can you explain why kimi is used so much in song lyrics? Do those bossy/superior nuances not apply to songs, because there's more of a need to use an unnamed "you"?
@ian-gm6qh
@ian-gm6qh 3 года назад
I think it's because it's awkward to use a person's name in a song or just like any other song in different language, you would rarely hear a specific name is being use.
@Crimson_Cheetah
@Crimson_Cheetah 3 года назад
@marikaefer Yeah I think it’s used in order to have an unnamed “you.” Like I hear anata in lots of songs too, and that word is rude irl but songs are just different I guess
