That seems funny, but I *think* what he was trying to say is that Lan Di sounds to him like some sort of alias (we find out later in the series that it isn't his real name).

I did some voice acting work once and 1) there is a really really low bar and 2) when you have to do multiple characters, you run out of voices really fast
