@@GeorgeTyrrell-qm2ep What I was imagining is the subtext in Arabic. Like the English speaking dude didn't understand it either 😂 ... gun fight in aisle 3 🤣
Absolutely. I’m Québecois so I learned Canadian English. As a result, I naively believed I could understand all English speakers. The illusion was broken when I was teamed up with an Englishman in a video game many years ago & I genuinely could not understand him, except that he finished all his sentences with “yea”.
"Overall, how is the accuracy of the captions in this video?" Not good at all Slightly good Moderately good Very good Extremely good Captions not turned on This is what YT is asking me in a small popup about this video. Come on, that's funny.
To be fair, it has some problems with "Tikrit" and "Cairo", and didn't quite catch the word "hearing impaired", "sea shells by the sea shore" is also a fail. Moderately good it is.
Being a U.S. Marine that was in that city on the first push in 2003, I can confirm that there were subtitles in front of all the locals. Derka derka. USMC 1999-2007
“nucular”? you mean Nuclear? and literally who mispronounces should of in America, we say should’ve but thats an actual word so, and im sure theres nothing behind that etc. Americans just live in your head rent free since we basically play the role of your military right now.
@Joseph-kq9zc No, if you are taught English then the standard is English, not USA American - only in the USA and its territories is USA American taught. Over 180 countries teach English (to English standard) whilst around 10 follow the USA version.
Ha ! I just watch the parody of Jake Tapper on CNN saying the Israelis' were putting explosives in goats so when Hezbollah has sex ..... and I recommended this video , and voila' ... still hilarious ... both of them .
EXACTLY!! Of course this is comic relief, but why for G**s sake do almost all RU-vids have forced subtitles lately. If you want subtitles, just turn them on!
The video is funny, but the title kills me : a man who is fighting against invadors of his own land is called terrorist ! Why ? Because he's an Arab, or because he's fighting the US ! Let brave minds think about it.
This is so true, sometimes they even dub in English when the person is already speaking comprehensible English, what the monkey are they up to, is this discrimination?
Took me longer than it should have to realise it was a skit, I spent the first 15 seconds thinking "how the hell did they grant an interview to a female reporter without a head covering?!"
Actually this made me think. I think that back in 2003 nobody talked about hijab, it only started becoming a topic once France banned it. (Also, I doubt the authors of the skit thought that far but they are supposed to be Ba'thists, not Islamists.)
Saddam was a secularist, not an Islamist. He ruthlessly put down religious fanatics. His mentor was a Christian. His foreign minister was also Christian.
