Mahou Sensou had a ton of missed opportunities. In the novel the main girl regretted deeply dragging MC into the magic world just because of a misunderstanding where she got angry at him. If only they focused on the psychological aspects and life changes, Spider Man/Peter Parker style an otherwise "generic rushed light novel anime" could have become quite the gem.
