Hey, just a small tip, for the Raccoon furby (the one with the sun damaged eyes) since his spring is rusted off, what you could do is put some tinfoil on the contact once you clean it and it should make contact! For the eyes and eyelids themselves you can actually restore them as well! It's called retrobrighting and there's plenty of tutorials on how to do it online! Hopefully you can get him looking as he once was!
I got scammed and it reminded me of this video. Paid £18 for a Furby, I was told it was fully working apart from being mute.. Came late, absolutely disgusting, smelling like 🍁 and barely even working, AND it was damaged from being taken apart beforehand, which I also was not told about. Took me 15 resets to make it work decently.. Had LOADS of bug poop in the skin in the face area and corrosion in the battery compartment. I’m going to clean the battery compartment with white vinegar and make a new skin for them(still washing the old one for storage or selling) inshaallah. I’m glad you at least knew these would be nasty.. Wasn’t a nice surprise, lol.
Since my husband and I have finished watched all the episodes of The Repair Shop, I've missed listening to the shop workers talk through their processes as they care for each treasure. This was a great video. I'm looking forward to more Furby Fridays.😁
Thank you! Got my first furby the other day at the thrift shop and the poor thing reeked of cigarettes and had discolored fur. Was intimidated to skin it but this helped!
I think I would have used gloves for this one 🤢 Seems like it would be really satisfying at the end though. I wish this was a job you could get paid to do. Professional Furby Restorative Artist.
I'm only starting this video but I'm already so nostalgic 🥰. I still have this green Furby. It used to scare me as a child, screaming in french "I'm bored !" in the middle of the night 😆
Thank you so much for this video! I bought a witch furby off eBay that smells like cigarette smoke. I had to remove the skin to repair it anyways (was super glitchy) now I can’t wait to get it all cleaned.😁
Tragedy is looking pretty good after his bath. I think it would be funny if you did a little "previously on Furby Friday" on your next video about him. It is good to know that laundry stripping works in toys. I might try it on my favorite cabbage patch kids doll that I got for my first Christmas. She needs a good clean.
Okay soooo happy for our first furby friday😌 also be super careful with the corroded batteries! you can get really bad chemical burns from touching battery acid/dust like that 😬
wish I'd seen this a few hours ago before I opened my first ever 1998 furb. Opened him in my bedroom, decided to give a little sniff to see if there was any foul odour (none luckily, just musty basement smell) and moments later I'm in a pretty scary asthma attack, much worse than I've had in years. I'm guessing he's trapped a lot of dust since he's got a tiny hint of sun damage in the eyes, suggesting he was probably on a shelf for a long period of time.
My brother had a Furby and got bored with it, so he decided to skin it. I woke up one morning to a hollow furby pelt (It maintained the same shape) sitting on my chest. Its hollow eye holes were particularly terrifying.
Omg the first one getting its lil ears done looks like it’s asleep for an operation 😭 How the helllll did those batteries not start a fire?! 😱😱😱 Bizarre!! This is insanely satisfying tho 😍
I adore this! 💜 I’m a Furby lover too, and I need to skin and wash my Joe Bob Snowball but I’m scared! 😱 So putting the skin back on… you just slip it on and don’t worry about the zip tie?
Just skinned three of my old furbies, none of them had any screws just glue around their face which is weird because they all have in all the tutorials I've seen 🤔 I'm glad tho because I wasn't sure I had the right screwdriver lol They're drying as I write this, pray for me I put their skin back on properly 🤣 Only thing this tutorial is missing is that last part 🙏🏻
I just got a 1998 NIB pink flamingo furby. It didn't work when I put batteries in it, but I watched videos on how to get it working. It is moving now finally, but there is no sound. I legit have been crying, bc I'm scared to do this!! (skin) I don't even think I can change a speaker. Sorry for coming here to say all this. This is my first Furby!! 🥺😢
Is it normal for my furbys faceplate to have no screws? Like... None at all? It's just held it with glue... The metal screw holder bits are just plastic, I'm really confused lol
eu acabando de receber um furby do enjoei lembrando que poderia ter baixinho dentro e correndo pra colocar num saco enquanto não consigo lavar ele: ☠️☠️☠️
