FURIOSA Flopped! Now Mad Max Is DEAD 

Honestly, people didn’t go to see Fury Road for Tom Hardy, they went for Mad Max

Action fundamentally means testosterone.

The game already exists and is effectively the sequel to Furisoa and Prequel to Fury Road, the game is freaking incredible

Female empowerment is as chilling to me as its opposite as is male empowerment and its opposite. Tired of the non-creative pretending they're creative.

A smaller budget Mel Gibson Mad Max would make decent money. God forbid we actually get something like that.

It's a good movie actually. People are just tired of seeing bad Female lead movies. That the girl can do anything and everything. Because of that people are not watching this movie which is actually really good.

I saw this coming a mile away. Fury Road came out right before this past decade of girl bosses and now the audience is done. This Mad Max film just came too late. I can only imagine how Borderlands is going to do now his summer too since it's practically the same premise.

As much as I liked Fury Road, Wastelands should've been the next film and served as a sequel with Mel Gibson in it. Furiosa could've been a neat special for HBO, but there was really no reason it should've cost this much. Only reason besides CGI I can think of are the salaries for Hemsworth & Taylor Joy, and maybe they threw the fees that weren't paid for Fury Road on this one.

I genuinely enjoyed this movie in cinemas, but a miss is a miss. Audiences are so black pilled on a decade of wokery, sometimes I wonder if Aliens or T2 came out today if they would bomb too. Just the times we're in though. Oversaturation, poor quality, and DEI.

I think that too many are ignoring the elephant in the room...a LOT of people aren't going to theaters because they DON'T have the extra money because of high inflation & high cost of gas. Everyone I know hasn't gone to the theaters in the past 3 years because they CAN'T afford it. I myself wanted to watch this movie, but I CAN'T afford to. I have to decide whether to buy food or go watch a movie.

Yet Star Trek Discovery and The Marvels and Solo and the Acolyte can fail excessively and they will still greenlight the next film in the franchise. But a Mad Max film underperforms and it’s the Apocalypse for that franchise…

People call it a "girl boss" movie due to the marketing and the gender switching of a traditional male movie/main character. Even though those who have seen it says it not a girl boss movie, it just followed the trope and the marketing did not prove otherwise.

It's almost like.........if you go see the movie with the girl lead.........then we will give you the movie that you want. People.........not just men, are tired of this bait and switch tactic that has definitely been over used by Hollywood.

I think Mad Max time on the big screen is coming to the end sure maybe they're gonna expand to video game comic book or TV show we really don't know this movie just made mad max wait for another year's for now.

Don't worry, Deadpool will arrive soon and the themepark crowd will get their usual fix. Rest of the world doesn't care anymore. And yep Mario Bross 2 will also bring in the themepark crowd (and the next lizard slaps monkey movie too) that's why cinema is dead as a cultural phenomenon. It's product placement for the themepark crowd and toddlers. (and of course Nick didn't watched it (but lots of opinions about it). It ain't Star Wars innit ?)

What kind of bad is I have been hearing that this is actually a good movie. It is other movies that have ruined the prospect this one here could have been doing it right I don't know I haven't seen it but I mean if they went the route of an Ellen Ripley or a Sarah Connor with this character, I think that would be a huge yes but at this point I just don't think people are willing to take the chance

It has some HORRIBLE CGI and effects work ... The desert and characters look plastic at multiple points during the film, and it just lacks the acting ability of Theron and Hardy. They may have hated each other on set and caused George non-stop headaches, but the end result was a brilliant pairing where a strong man and woman worked together ... both getting hurt and failing at times.

I wanted to see Furiosa, but I haven't got time to watch it in next week or two, by which time it'll be off the cinema.

George Miller is a fucking idiot for making Mad Max movies without Mel. If he made an Old Mad Max movie with Mel, it would make Top Gun: Maverick money. But Hollywood - and apparently George - won't forgive Mel. When you consider what Hollywood people get away with, it's an absurd way to lose money.

I Jack Sparrow'd the movie and it's actually pretty good but I'm not paying to see a mad Max movie with no mad Max.

It’s pretty obvious none of you have even watched the film furiosa. It’s actually brilliant. The trailers sucked. But the movie itself was great. Rewatched it twice now.

Can we just stop prequels, would have preferred Mad Max The Westland over this. Movie is good and it deserves an audience. I just want to see Mad MAX, i would really like an OLD MAX movies too. Wish Mel could come back for one more. But what do i know.

The movie is not half as bad, not sure why its getting so much hate its not like Furiosa is invincible she gets beaten up a lot in the movie and she does not have a free pass. This movie deserves more credit then its getting.

i went to see fury road cus mad max tom hardy but they pushed furiousa for 90% of the movie made tom/max the non main 2nd string charicther it was still good yes but had i known max was only gonna say 30 sentences n 150 gruntzs i woulda never went to see it i dam sure didnt go see furiousa ill watch it for free one day

These old men need to shut it. This franchise is incredible and they should be ashamed of themselves for wishing for the downfall of cinema.

It doesnt matter if its "good" it didnt have Mad Max. I get that people may like the movie but not the fans of Mel Gibson or Tom Hardy. This movie was not wanted nor was there any hype from the fans. We all are tired of male leads being replaced by females, good writing or bad. Make a movie that's good, and original then the fans will show up.

I liked it. It wasn’t Oscar worthy but it was a good film. It certainly wasn’t bad. I’m sick and tired of the narrative that every female led movie is “a narrative”/pushing an agenda etc etc. It hasn’t “killed” the franchise. Stop being dramatic 😂

This film will ultimately come to be recognized as a serviceable installment of the Mad Max legacy. It checks the basic boxes of the franchise. Great set pieces, awesome vehicles and spectacular practical effects. Even if it does overuse crappy CGI, the stunt work is top notch. The thing that bugs me the most is that they give us Praetorian Jack, who is the closest thing to Mad Max we might ever see again, and then kill him off slowly and painfully. Its a slap to the face of anyone who actually likes these kind of movies.

Nobody cares. Or to be fair, not enough people care to see a Mad Maxine type Mad Max film. If ain't Avatar or Barbie or Avengers or (add whatever is popular at the time)...few people care. Films have always flopped so that's nothing new. The Wizard of Oz and Citizen Kane flopped and they became beloved classics so there's nothing remarkable about any film flopping but the major problem is if most big budget films are flopping and people preferring streaming content, Hollywood could be in existential trouble. Given the high (some might say extortionate) ticket and cinema food prices, there's no incentive to be a regular film-goer. That's kinda sad, I guess, but that's capitalism. You see how capitalism is easy exploited. High tickets prices and low wages for many workers (hence why the WGA and SAG-AFTRA went on strike last year). It's all part of the problem. It's many issues combined that have led to a very poor first half of 2024 at the box office. It's going to be fascinating to see how the second half of 2024 goes!

Perhaps its the fact that this story was just soo...bleak, nihilistic, and without real hope.

Chris Hemsworth gets humiliated in another hollywood movie again. He should have played Max. Instead we get Fat Thor with a fake nose.
