I love the contexualization Furiosa provides for Fury Road and how the wasteland's politics changed over a couple decades. I wasn't expecting how sweet the Octoboss and his Mortifyers would be, or how he ties into the Rock Riders. Hope The Wasteland isn't affected by the box office sales
They are very close for me. I went back to Furiosa 3 times in theatres to watch it with others, contributing to about 10% of its overall domestic gross. Fury Road is pretty much perfection, however that is a 10/10 film for me but Furiosa is right on its heals with a 9.5/10. I felt just as good if not better about Furiosa each time I watch it and Anya Taylor Joy may be my favourite Actress working today. The Witch, Split, The Northman, The Menu, Peaky Blinders, Queens Gambit, Dune 2, and Furiosa… no missteps in my books.
No disrespect to anyone but I hated this movie. I disliked it so much that it made question if Fury Road was any good. After rewatching Fury Road I felt relieved. For Furiosa, I didn’t like the writing and I thought they made Furiosa lamer by providing a back story. Like I was completely removed from the movie when SPOILER she ran back to her mom. It doesn’t make any sense. I just felt boredom, frustration, and dread. It just felt empty and hollow. All the action scenes felt derivative of Fury road with nothing new.
Felt like Hemsworths character was the protagonist for a good chunk of the movie with furiosa kinda spectatating not sure how i feel about that also dont do Max dirty he took out the people eater and bullet farmer
