@@iangrassby as i understand we are all going to be forced to drive automatics I'm not good with it either and i have 45 years of mostly 4 5 and 6 speed and a borrowed 3 on the tree. If you didn't know 3 on the tree is on the steering column.
And it Glows in the dark. Thats just cool. What it needs on the exhaust is Godzila Breath. So he hits a button and it sprays a blush green foam bubbles.

I like the suspense of finding out as he goes along whats wrong with each vehicle as he finds out. I detest the spoiler preview and try to skip it if possible. Also his cute little intro is sometimes at the very first of the video, and is a condensed shorter version, hence less annoying. One reason you get tired of watching annoying Scotty Kilmer vids. His intros are the worst. Kinda like skipping the GOT intros. Ah I feel better.
I wonder if more explanation is needed for the DIY guys? The reason that I do not comment or ask a question is because I know that it will not be answered. He is too busy.
@@roykil8839 Definitely but if you live in America, then your probably not aware of these little pocket rockets. I own a 595 Comp 180bhp so I know a bit about these vehicles.
@@Christophergriffiths1972 actually it is Abarth. The 1.4 T-jet comes in a lot of various HP configurations from 135hp to 180hp. Just Google it. The competizione is the top of the line 500 Abarth configured with 180hp

That scorpion is for the engine builder (and very very famous even in the usa) Abarth, funded by Carlo Abarth who is responsible for the very best rally engines of all time (Lancia Delta S4 and Integrale, Fiat 131 Abarth and so on. This 1.4 liter T-jet engine was developed first to use Ferrari material standards and produce 300hp factory but then came the huge financial crisis after 2006 and they had to rrethink their strategy and to use normal material quality to make the engine sellable But even so the 1.4 T-jet is a damn good and reliabke engine, they made it without direct injection to avoid carbon build ups on the valves etc. Well designed and built small engines, have the same in my Lancia Delta and it is untouched with 200000 in its odo….
I dont think you talk too much. I really enjoy your style of video. What I cannot stand is people who talk to the camera for 10 minutes telling you what they are gonna do, then give highly edited useless video of them doing it. Why can't they just get on with it and talk while they work, like you do.
100% agree. Have a short intro or no intro. Go straight to content. Give no spoiler up front. If I've get to see the ending up front, I'll look elsewhere.
Three minutes in and I want that shifter knob for my next car. On the voice track, you explain things clearly and intelligently and completely and mostly just once, or at most twice, which is great. Many other folk on YT channels repeat themselves too much. Get the feeling you do some preaching, you have some very well articulated observations and thoughts about life stuff.

Just a suggestion - if you cut a slot in the original under body pipe you would be able to expand it without breaking your expander and fit the new part without flattening the crap out of the customer's exhaust.
I'm guessing that any owners who'd been thinking about this mod, might be reconsidering. The manufacturer of the exhaust should be deeply ashamed. People often criticise Fiat for their build quality, but the little car shines way above that exhaust.
Good ones usually fit perfectly. I’ve been through probably two dozen of them over the years, and the only one this bad, was the Pacesetter for my Neon back in the late 90s. That was only acceptable because it was cheap. This one, I’m being told, was not.
They sound that way stock though! The Abarth edition cars practically straight-pipe off the catalytic converters. The turbo does enough muffling to keep it legal.
@@MikeL-FLyeah, this one has done issues. No mount kit for passenger side tailpipe, and the band clamps provided for the tips looked to be for a flared but connection pipe, instead of flat style.
Legit the whole reason I and my wife, from time to time, warch your amazing channel is because of how awesome you are with the talkitive-ness you have while doing your videos. We both love how much knowledge you provide and how descriptivie you are. You've even started rubbing off with some of your words and Ill nw say things like you with "Starting Zee engine".

Clearly you didn't notice the pretty significant dents he smashed into the customers original exhaust pipe trying to fit them together. Pretty shoddy work if you ask me and I'd be asking for it fixed if it's mine @ 21:17
Yes, boys and girls, this is why you have exhaust work done at a reputable shop that specializes in exhaust work. Then your exhaust pipes will stay round and not be dented beyond repair. 😂

That Fiat 500 is small enough to be a spare in the bed of a full-sized pickup truck. Never use a spare tire again! Just roll your spare vehicle down the snowmobile ramps and zip over to the Tire store to repair/replace the flat you'll have to strap to the roof.
If you weren’t giving the commentary, why would I be watching repairs on cars I don’t own or will ever own. Keep it up man. Nothing to do with you but the blue neon would drive me crazy!

Ray, this car is a perfect candidate for consideration as an "art car". I am formerly from Houston and there are so may art cars down there that they have an annual art car parade.

@@Stephaniemartinglassartist Did someone paint the interior dash panel to color match the car? I'm an upfitter and did a purple jeep where we painted the dash panels and its the best work i think I've ever done and your dash looks like the exact same was done
@@coop1osrs@cooperchambers630 no it came color matched. I created the godzilla and ghidorah images then sent them to my vinyl guy. He printed them for me. The ones on the outside are mostly regular vinyl with reflective for the breath and lightning. The dash are 100 percent reflective. This car is magical at night.
It's not just a Fiat it's an Abarth, an Italian racecar manufacturer. They're are very popular here in Europe and very fun to drive especially with a manual trany.
maybe a ASMR mechanic video could be an idea to please those who think you talk too much (with some random explosions/bangs/pows trough the thing) , would be very funny at least to read the comments

The scorpion is the Abarth Logo and for those who don't know Abarth was originally an exhaust company but became a sports tuning brand later to today , very much like cosworth was in the uk back in the 80s and 90s
Word of the Day: Fabricobble! I love it. As for the Keys, as a Young Marine, I was in Key West for the Mariel Boatlift, or the Great Cuban Refugee Roundup as we called it. And there some strange people down there even in the 80s. We did have a good time, though. Good people, just different.

Just a shame this is just a Fiat 500 Sport with the turbo 1.4t, similar to the Abarth. They just installed all the badges for it onto the vehicle. Still can't argue I enjoy the exhaust that comes from those little 1.4 turbo motors. @@mindscraper1978
The scorpion is an Abarth emblem. Abarth is known for making high flow exhaust systems. In high school I had a 1958 Fiat 500 which meant that it had a 500 cc two cylinder, air cooled engine. It was the US model and had 22 RWHP instead of 18. I had the car up to 80 MPH on Hwy 50 headed to Homosassa Springs on a fishing trip. I got to ride in a new Fiat 500 Abarth with an extra power upgrade. It was one fast car. The Fiat is a definite art car - I like everything about it except the light strips in the cabin, those would destroy your night vision.
Oh I have a quick off for them. 99.9 percent of the time I drive during the day in the keys where it's super bright out. If I'm ever out in the dark they are off.
Ray. Speaking about how your mind works while you're showing us the repair is the best thing you do. If this channel was silent, I would not have learned 90% of what I know now. I went from never touching a wrench in my entire life to having a garage full of my own tools and capable of doing all my own car maintenance and repairs all within 3 years of starting. Don't ever stop doing what made your channel grow in the first place.
Hi Ray. I have been one of your daily followers for several years. I started following you by chance by browsing on RU-vid. When you were working as a mechanic in a mechanic shop, before you opened your own workshop. I really liked the way you work, in addition to the way you present and explain to your viewers (as a former car mechanic before I stopped working due to a back injury). I wish your workshop was close to my residence (North Carolina) so that I could bring my car to you for repair. Can you believe that I have become addicted to watching your channel? I get very upset when you don't post anything on the weekend. Don't stop posting. Please.
Been to the Keys. Actually got married at key largo. Car is pretty cool. There was a place down there, with a guy with a bunch of cats that ate scorpions. True story 😊
Great video. I love when someone has an idea to customize their car, even though some may not agree. Some say "why, it looks tacky." Others "why do that?(sarcastically) those stickers and stuff add 75 hp lol). Re re re its all in ones own style on what they want, its their car they can do as they please, you didnt pay for it. Hear that stuff all the time. Ray I love hearing u talk and explain stuff. Its not all techie boring, " the sway bar connects to the end link, and the end link to the control arm or strut bracket, and the hip bones connected to the knee bone and so on... lol) You explain things to make the avg joe understand yet keep it lighthearted, yet serious at the same time. Nice balance of work and fun. Thats one reason i keep coming back to your channel. Thanks for being yourself... we need more people who believe in themselves and dont cower and change because of what others say or think. Because you definitely voice your opinions work, politics, life, etc. But keep everything in check, especially when the entire internet is judging your every move. I grew up when the internet was just an infant graduated in 97 and all we had to listen to was a few locals, so go home and its done. Now in 2024 its 24/7 you cant get away from the naysayers and the like. Im sure u understand u live it. Hello Ray, I return to your channel all the time because I do enjoy the content. It doesn’t matter if it is something I’ve seen before because the commentary you share is different and entertaining. I have stopped making comments to your channel because I have never gotten a response to my questions so, I watch for the entertainment and maybe learn something. Keep doing what you do it is good content
i gotta give props to whoever buys their cars, says "this car is mine," and modifies it how they want without caring what other people think about how it looks, how it'll depreciate the car, etc.

Your commentary and various opinions are the reason why I watch Ray. So no, you're not talking too much. Anyway, what a neat little car. I would never fit in one, but it definitely looks like it would be fun to drive. You can tell the owner loves the car, so cannot fault someone for wanting to spice up their car the way they best see fit.
It doesn't matter what I say, as long as I sound sincere. In fact I don't mean any of this. But my confession draws you near. And the hook brings you back. On that you can rely.
My first car was a 1969 Fiat 850 Spider. Abarth made a bunch of performance parts for that car. And I had every one. With only 850 cc, it was no powerhouse, but it could go around corners like a rat wearing sneakers. Have fun!
Modded my '93 Corolla with fluorescent pin striping and purple neon antenna's in the past. Can't say I've had fond memories of chasing down shorts in the wiring. Pants zippers do a wonderful job of conducting electricity where it should not belong. 240 volts AC to terminals left best unconnected.

I would say it’s quite a skill to narrate while figuring out what goes next. But you’ve had lots of practice. I like your way of explaining while the task is done. That’s why I stay subscribed.

I disagree. I think people should give good or bad input. That input gives input on what people like or dislike . HOW they give the input determines whether it is bullying or constructive input. If the person said, "Ray, I like your channel but I think it would be better with less talking." That's not people hating, But, if the person said, "Ray, could you shut your mf'ing trap once in a while. It is very annoying." That would bullying or people hating. You are right in saying anyone who doesn't like the channel doesn't have to watch it, but, among other things, RU-vid monetizing is based on the number of viewers, so criticism could be helpful. Ray, just made a passing comment, he didn't say it like it was very irritating feedback. I personally like less talking. I don't mind him explaining the repair, or how the part works in the system he is working on but I don't need to hear how he is going to unlock the car with the key and drive it into the shop. There is a lot of extra talk that I find irritating. Yes they don't have to watch it if they don't like it and I don't. I watch a lot of channels and Ray isn't at the bottom of my watch list, but he is also no where at the top of my list. Pine Hallow Auto Diagnostics and South Main Auto are right at the top of my list and I watch all of their videos. Ray, only a few. Again I don't think a passing comment is people hating or bullying but if the same person complains about it every time he watches a video then that's something else.

The scorpion dates back the days when Carlo Abarth was renowned for modifying Fiats for performance and racing. Since the smaller Fiats were rear-engined, Abarth chose the scorpion logo because “the sting was in the tail.” Well worth looking up, it’s a fascinating history.

I actually enjoy a change up in your videos. Being an avid watcher changing wires, shocks, brakes on the same old vehicles gets boring. I came across this video and it drew me to watch it. It’s funny and entertaining visually. So throwing in a custom job or odd vehicle version would be great for mixed content.
