I like how this one eliminates all the 1 second ticks with no seconds hand, and all counter sweeps are visually mechanical. With a closed caseback, it makes no difference and it keeps accurate time.
What you just said is exactly what I appreciate about this piece. I'm at the point where I no longer mind quartz movements, as long as I don't see the 1 second ticks. Happy new year!
Thanks for sharing and reviewing, Chez. I already have a Dan Henry, but the Furlan Marri is refined. Firstly, it has a sapphire crystal over DH's plexiglass. Secondly, it has 50m WR over DH's 30m. Thirdly, the hands appear to be steel (with curved tips, too). Fourthly, the lug curvature and the pusher design comes closer form to the watch which inspired Furlan Marri, the Tosti Dondi.
Agreed. While it's not part of Furlan Marri's limited releases, I think it will at least hold its value. It doesn't pretend to be anything it's not, so the price is already low in light of what you get: just an honest combo of great finishing and reliable timekeeping.
Soryy but 562 Euro for a watch with a Vk64 mecaquartz movement? is that a joke?? Basically the same materials that goes into for example a Dan henry watch you can buy for 260 Euro or a Chinese chronograph you can buy for 100-200 Euro
Indeed, they place a premium on the finishing, and not everyone will be willing to pay such a price, which is totally understandable. I'll try to follow up with a video showing highlights from more angles and side by side shots with other timepieces.
@@ChezDoesStuff I have the Pagani Paul Newman with the VK63, it has a sapphire crystal and a ceramic bezel and I got it for 99 Euro, the price they're charging for this watch is robbery. Dan Henry also places a premium on finishing but his watches are fairly priced. I just think potential buyers should be told exactly what these movements are worth and that there are far cheaper alternatives that are just as good with the same movement before they make a decision to purchase
@@thinredline2795 I don't disagree with that. Thank you for providing the additional info. It goes both ways for me. Great watches are available for fractions less, while less than stellar quartz timepieces have been sold for multiples more. I took a look at Dan Henry's pieces just now and have to say, some of the pieces are really nice. Wear yours in good health!
@@thinredline2795 Yes…and no. It’s overpriced, but so does Rolex, in the end it’s the hype that drives the prices and it’s working as it seems. Let’s face it, while Dan Henry is pretty nice on its own it’s not exactly on par (finish wise) with FM, you pay the premium for that step up, albeit it’s not spectacular difference, but it’s there for sure. Sure VK63 It’s not a technical marvel for sure, but I see FM as a perfect travel watch for vintage horology fan, it’s - relatively - cheap, reliable, has the looks and I won’t shed too many tears if something bad happens to it, something I can’t tell about loosing or damaging my vintage chronos while I'm on the move.
Hi! Awesome review, been looking to get one of these as well! Can I ask how much you paid for customs fee, tax, etc.? I'm also Filipino and am curious how much extra I need to prepare for the fees. Hahaha thanks! 😁
Glad you liked it. It is quite a respectable looking watch. On to your question: Roughly 4 or 5k on top of the online price. You can use services like Johnny Air to save a wee bit more.
Hey man. I was one of the three Filipinos who go their Furlan Marris here. We used Buy and Ship Philippines and didn’t have to pay any import duties. DHL and PH customs scammed ya mate
The question this brand invites us to ask to ourselves is : are you ready to spend 500 bucks for a beautiful watch with a 15 bucks quartz movement. Otherwise : you spend 500 just for the beauty without giving any importance to the heart of the watch. I'll say probably not for my part. I've investigated to the brand : Furlan is the cofounder and designer but Marri is just the money provider. He presents himself as an "artist" but there is no mark anywhere of his art.
@@zorakzoran1 all good mate 😂 watch out for my next FM video in the near future comparing its size side by side with other watches - I might have longer nails!
