When my son bought his house he was a little strapped for cash. I love saving old stuff, so from what I had in my “stash” and from “curbmart”, we were able to furnish two complete bedrooms, living room, kitchen, breakfast bar stools, tv stand and a card table for the man cave on a shoe string! It was a lot of work but like the pieces you did, they are quality pieces that no one else has, and also saved these things from the landfill!

Reusing furniture is a great idea. I'm afraid I don't get this fascination with gray, black and white. It's been going on now for years and I don't think enough young women are striking out and creating their own style. They are caught up in the gray world.

@@FurnitureFlippingTeacher so true. Imagine how boring a world if we all liked the same things! That's why I said it wasn't my style BUT. I watch a lot of diy and home designers on RU-vid and most of them do not have the same style. However, I keep watching them because I learn from them. And just like music. I love certain style but I can appreciate many different types of music. Sometimes I look at a pic of a room and it's not my style but I love it. I appreciate the beauty even if it's not my style. And I appreciate your work (not a brush stroke showing!). It was all beautifully done.

This was a great, great idea! Samantha said it all when she said she didn’t want to spend all this money on newly manufactured pieces when there are more than enough good, solid used pieces that can be refinished or painted for a fraction of the cost. Keeping stuff out of the landfill is key. I am amazed how this collection of different furniture pieces all came together seamlessly at the end. Also if she gets boarded down the road and her style changes, she can repaint. By the way, there was this creepy guy in purple shoes in the background at the beginning of this video and he showed up again at the end. Be careful. He looks dangerous! LOL!! As an antiques collector, I was heart broken to see you destroy the dressing table. It's a shame that the mirrored piece wasn't still attached but it's sort of rare these days to see old mirrors still in tact on pieces like this one. The veneer was chipped and in places completely gone but that would have been an easy cosmetic fix, by replacing the veneer to keep that beautiful wood grain showing. I think I would have loved to see a gray white washed effect over the piece rather than the gray paint.
@joycelove5454

Wendy, I understand your distress as a collector of antique furniture, but personally I'm glad to see these pieces converted to something that's functional for the way we live today. I'm with you on the gray paint, however - just not my thing. I was also sad to see that the beautiful hardware was not refurbished & reused, it is so cool & unique.

Some old pieces really need just a plain paint job but something that has the intricate details that that dresser had it was just a shame to cover it up. You obviously don't know how much hard work went into making that piece... Just a shame.

Actually, she will do the same colours over and over for those depressed clients : gray on gray, dark gray and some white, and that's it. This kind of interior is extremly common. You'll find it almost everywhere. It's not Lauren's fault, she's doing a great job but watch rather what she does when the colour choices are hers : gorgeous greens, light yellow, old white and so on. And her pieces are selling very well, which means that some people have still taste and are willing to bring colour in their lives.

Until you have as many layers as you want. It will look like glass done properly. As the surface gets stretched only 1 layer will be damaged. Old lady (76)old ways.

My mom had those same barstools in her house in Texas (that we cleaned out in 2019). I think she had 8 barstools in two different heights. The shorter set went with a matching cocktail table. Heavy BEASTS they were. Good furniture for flipping. If you need more badly enough to go get them, they might still be in that small town shop.

Great Job! One of the main things I liked about your original posts were how you showed the cost to purchase then the selling price. It would have added so much to this video if you did the same. Even if the furniture was donated you could have put $0 to purchase and $300 to refinish , what ever the buyer paid. Or, You could have gone " fake shopping" online or in person and found a coffee table and end table set and shown us the cost to buy new and then what the homeowner paid for the pieces she purchased from you. Also to add to the comments about all the grey being too much, there isn't any art work on the walls. That can add a lot and break up all the grey. ( Which I am sure she will get to once she moves in :)

I hope you were well compensated. That was a ton of work. From sourcing the furniture all the way to delivering and setting it up. You did a fantastic job!

I love your work, it's so professional looking. Always looks like it came out of a high end furniture store.

You do such beautiful work , I was wondering why you spray paint some pieces and hand paint others ?

Did you build the paint tent, or purchase it? I could sure use one that size. Loved all your makeovers!

Would of been nicer if you’d stained the tops of the lounge and dining the same as the floor would of looked more expensive instead of cheap

Las tapas de esas mesas eran preciosas, una madera estupenda, tendrías que haberla lijado y barnizado, y luego pintar las patas. Una pena...

Great job refinishing! But as for the client's taste in colors or may I say, lack thereof: well, to each his own. What counts is that she likes it.

It's a great numeral color palette. Now then they can do their additional colors. I'd add a lot of red, but that's me!

So how much was their budget? What was the cost of all the furniture? What are your fees?

How do you choose when to spray paint and when to brush? I noticed that the white legs were sprayed and the table tops were brushed.

The finish looks awesome. A little (a LOT) too gray for my taste. Maybe they’ll ask you to repaint them soon in another color.

a lot of effort, but, sadly she chose a real one-note with the paint color(s)...place lacks the warmth that a wood piece, here and there, adds....and sadly all the gray now at the very end of the 'gray trend'....surely she loves her choices! you guys do a very professional job!
