Washers before Nuts... Keeps the Nuts from binding in the wood as you tighten. A touch of LocTite on the threads also secures them as the movement using it everyday can also loosen the NUTS from the bolts.

I use 500mg L-Tyrosine with 100 mg 5-HTP after breakfast. You can bump the ratio to 1000/200 or 1500/300 if needed. But for me 500/100 works well. If I don’t eat with it I feel nauseous, so I’d suggest eating first.

We are big into holistic health. The amino acid l-tyrosine is a building block for your body to make more dopamine. It's definitely a more gentle approach we use in our family a lot. A good supplement blend we've used for years is Now brand True Focus. It has l-tyrosine and some other things for focus. Hope that helps!

Love your videos! You have inspired us to give our furnitures a little bit of TLCs : ) I do love recommending ashwagandha to family and friends. It is a life saver for us. The name may sound weird but do Google it some. It helps to manage stress, ocd, and restless type syndromes without the gitters and drop off. Great for mental focus as well and a sense of well being. This is like my first ever comment on RU-vid, lol. Just feel that there’s so much information overload. But good luck and keep on making awesome videos! : )

#1 or #2 steel wool with mineral spirits works well with removing the remaining paint. Also you may want to consider investing in cheap and disposable chip brushes to apply the stripper. Save your nice brushes for paint application. Your project turned out well.

I'm glad you said you were in your garage, I was worried for the pale wood flooring underneath the table that I saw when you started! Finished table is lovely, I was given an oval table with those strips of wood on the table top and wondered how it would look stripped back. Now I know! Thank you. Did you also do the middle bit? As the two sides come apart it looks as if it is an extending table with a folded under middle section.

Hi Shannon! I’m currently stripping my 80’s dresser, and the wood is looking a little parched. It’s solid oak, but I was wondering if I should condition the wood before white washing and top coating with the verathane you swear by. What do you do when the piece looks dried out? Love your work 😎

Hi Shannon, I’m planning to refinish my kitchen table.. I can sand off the yellow finish with a 220 and plan to put on a clear coat after. How many coats should I use, and should I sand in between coats ( what # paper)? The table top is not solid wood. It may be butcher block. Thanks for any advice. The table in your video is beautiful.

Really pretty, Shannon! I love round tables, you did so well, as usual! I was at Home Depot yesterday and drooling over all of the new colors. All the lattes, greiges and neutral tones are so yummy! I bought two full gallons of Oops paint that I thought was off-white but it was actually very lightly tinted pink/lavender. Berh's "Patience" to be exact. Very light. I have a big question for you, do you ever change the colors of your oops paint? Like say I want a dark hunter green like Sherwin Williams "Grown". Will it work? If so how do you do it? At home or can I bring it back to Home Depot and ask for something darker for an extra charge? Thank you!! ❤️
@blacksheephouse
@blacksheephouse 2 года назад
You can take it back and if they are nice they thanks!! If they are nice Home Depot will try and color match for you but if it’s a light color you will have to choose a light color. I frequently mix greys and beiges together but I’ve never created a green from pink though.

My table top has veneer and I want to strip down to the wood similar to this project. Will the stripper remove the damaged veneer or is that what I should expect from sanding? Thank you
@blacksheephouse
@blacksheephouse 2 года назад
Every table is different but veneer is usually about as thick as a penny or a dime laying flat, if your tables veneer is made of wood then the stripper will remove the finish and you can proceed just like I do in this video but if your veneer is made of Formica or something else then the stripper won’t do much. You can find out if your veneer is wood by sanding a spot and you’ll be able to tell if your sanding is getting through to a lighter wood, hope that helps ❤️

Unfortunatley, the less toxic the stripper, the less effective. I recently paid $60 for a large can of stripper at a big box store. It didn’t not strip. I used layer after layer and it barely removed anything. A wast of money. So a stripper with green on it will generally will be a waste of money. It’s the toxic stuff that does the work.
