My mother had one of those dressing tables like that; hers was dark mahogany and had a little stool. Every morning before school I sat on the stool looking at myself in the mirror as she braided my hair. That was over 60 years ago! What a flashback! Thank you for sharing your projects with us.
Wow, I love both of those pieces, the transfers are lovely and I think you choose the perfect 2 items to transform. I have only just watched Catherine from Dainty Diaries use transfers to breathe new life into an old chest of drawers and in another video for her IKEA shelving in her greenhouse! Both worth a watch. I'm still recovering from covid fatigue and feeling very frustrated that my sewing of curtains and cushions and the painting of my kitchen diner have been held up...but I feed my imagination with your projects and my soul with your gentle spirit. Hey! Love love your videos. On your transfer you were very lucky! Do not take the paper off the back till you are ready to apply! I can’t believe the home transfer didn’t stick to your counter top. Be careful most of the time if it touches an object it will stick. Also don’t forget to burnish it after applying it and seal it!!! Has to be sealed it will Lift off later if not sears! Thanks again for you great videos.
Loved how you used the transfers. I always see the furniture artists seal the transfers with wax to protect them. Just an idea especially for the tray.

Not sure if I missed it but you do need to put a sealant over the transfer once you have adhered it otherwise it will not stand up to wear. Any water based sealant will do.
Two more items for the Cottages!! I can see the little dresser next to a big bed with a white bedspread on it ... the tray, of course, on the dining table... working with transfers looks like fun ! ❤

That pink flower is gorgeous. I am loving that little side table Mary. It is so beautiful. It could go anywhere! I would love it in my guest bathroom to hold candles, toilet paper, anything a guest may have left at home like deodorant, nail file/kit, even face cloths for removing makeup. The tray was gorgeous also---two of my favorite things you've ever done. Great job--I've never used the decals either. Can't wait to see what you do in the future.

So glad you love the world of tranfers! I have used these and even on wooden trays like you demo'd. I usually seal mine with a topcoat. Some other transfers are IOD brand, Jami Ray Vintage (she has some unique paper type decoupage items). Prima has so many great ones to choose from! Your projects turned out BEAUTIFULLY!
Mary, everything you do turns out so well, but here is the most amazing thing to me…..and that is that when you paint, you don’t seem to ever get the paint on you!

More beautiful projects ❤️ I’m pitching an idea that I would love to SELFISHLY see come to be. I would love for you and your sister to collaborate on making transfers. With her beautiful botanicals and talent to draw, y’all would make stunning transfers and beautiful projects for us to make. This would be so different from the transfers that are out there. They would be tastefully and simply done, knowing you. Just an idea 💕💕 I would love more greenery and wild flowers on my pieces. With my arthritis in my fingers, hand painting is becoming difficult for me. Thank you again for making things that are old, beautiful again 🙋♀️

They both came out beautiful! I love transfers, you might check most people seal them after application, and another tip don’t be in a hurry to apply let your paint completely dry.
