Hi guys! We're back again with another Fury update... This week it is time to get the car ready to put some white paint on the roof and fenders! Very happy to be finally getting some colour on the Fury; blue is next! Dean stopped in too, to help sand and bring us up to speed on his LTD Winter Beater... Too bad it broke while it was here, but we'll sort it out! Thanks also to everyone who subscribed to our channel here, and thanks also for all of your "likes" and comments! We do appreciate that anyone would take the time to leave us a note. If you would like to help keep our channel going, you can get a sticker, hat or a coffee mug at: www.coldwarmotors.com Or, please feel free to check out our Patreon page at : www.Patreon.com/coldwarmotors where we have extra videos and pictures and a bunch of people hanging out and bs-ing about cars! All the very best to everyone from me and Frankers and the Agents!
Ain't it a hoot what comes aboot? The Fury gets some paint. The agents applaud, the doggie marauds Around what is and ain't. Brothers-in-arms who do no harm And have but one desire... To build them cars and find them bars With a goddamn welcome fire. The Unknown Poet Formerly Known As The Unknown Poet, JPL Editor's note: Well, Wifey caught a break this week as I was enticed up to Chicago for something passing for business. Me and my boy did our best to drive up the stock price on The Quiet Man Irish Single Malt, while The Poet kept a low profile. I guess he ain't inspired unless Wifey is after his ass. Anybody who would willingly live in that frozen-ass place would call Alberta a goddamn sunny beach front.
Hard to imagine what would become of this thing when you pulled it out of that horse corral. I thought it was just going to be another piece of art for the property but it turned into one of the most extensive restorations that i've ever seen. And certainly one of the most fun to watch!
@@valle3452 Well a lot of things get made to run and drive. maybe get new floor pans, etc.. But doing a gigantic splice and dice from 3 cars is not your standard restoration. This one is in a class of its own.
Your dog frankers is absolutely fantastic I hope you’re appreciating her you only get one dog that’s that good I know I lost my pal. you love her every day and never ever take her for granted she is the best friend you’ll ever have
I just spend the last two days on a Fury Marathon, all 26 Videos. First video was the one that brought me to this channel ( I LOVE Fury's) I cant believe how long its taken, or how far its come. You sir are true artist and make me proud to be a Rural Canadian and wish I had Friends like yours. I've been checking back multiple times throughout the day in anticipation of this video...from field to paint in under two years. Cheers from New Brunswick
I've been a follower for a while, I live in San Francisco now, but grew up in Buffalo NY, and can relate to the snow and cold. I come online to see all of your friends and feel a kinship too, and can't wait to visit my acquired friends. Im retired now but have worked on Engineering projects Globally as a corporate Automation Engineer, so i appreciate your candor and knowledge. I guess what draws me is your restoration of the Fury - I drove a 1958 Plymouth Savoy, while attending College in Vermont.
All credit goes to your skills....not only in body repair but paintwork too.... That fury will be the most beautiful car ever.... Well done mate.... Big shout from the uk
Man that white looks fantastic. Its been a long time coming. So much sanding, its such a huge car. I cant wait to see the blue. Glad youre keeping the faux spare tire cover. It fits in with the outrageous amount of stainless trim. What a beauty shes going to be. Thanks again!
Love the screwdriver key on the LTDean. A friend got the key stuck in his SAAB, back in the late '70s. Since no one knew about their floor mounted keys back then he just cut the bottom from a styrofoam coffee cup, filled it with cottonballs, and painted them to look like coffee. He drove that car for years without ever taking the ignition key out when he parked. Locked the door with a spare.
Haha, best idea ever, with that fake coffee! Definitely an underrated comment ;-D Today I have a VAG Group car, with the KESSY keyless entry & start system. So easy to steal these cars, with 2 people and a radio relay, one of them at your door, scanning for the keyless fob in your pocket on the clothes hanger. Just Google for it :-(
@@ralfgottfridhansson3127 I worked in a SAAB dealership in the early '80s. The stuck key was a common site. I owned a '75 99 EMS at the time. No column lock, but it had to be parked with reverse engaged to take out the key.
We'll finally get to see what the ole girl looked like new in a few weeks. Just wonderful. Saw some of our friends on the Hagerty site mentioning you with their Buick tear-down. Maybe the next restore could be the Buick (hoping). Gotta say that the long journey with the 60 Plymouth has be en worth every minute (and much better than a daily beats).
@@dukeallen432 Considering the Hagerty site has 1.1 million subscribers and the video with the Buick teardown has 147 thousand views, any mention of CWM in the comments section is a plus for this channel.
OMG! Just finished watching and You ARE THANKING US for watching? Your are a MAESTRO at rebuilds! And I love the color-same as my 1957 Plymouth Belvedere!-again, thank you!!
I have been watching seen the day you pulled the Fury out of the horsesh*t bog and started with a little tidying. An amazing astonishing journey of a labor of love, friendship, humor and car repair knowledge. You are the man Scott WoW
I purchased 1960 Plymouth Fury 2dr for $60 when I was 15 yrs old back in 1972. It was my first car. I found the car offered for sale by privet party in my home town Santa Monica, California. I was so happy to see the garage door open and hear it start up, it ran well. My older brother drove it home as I did not have my learners permit yet. She needed tires, the interior was in great shape, as I remember the body was also very good. After spending three days rubbing out the paint with compound by hand, the car shined like a new dime. I was so proud of it.
You should be very proud of yourself! It looks amazing! All those late night/early mornings...so worth it! Glad you took us all on the journey! Looking forward to the next adventure! Hugs to Frankers for being a good girl through all this! She's a hoot!🐶
So happy to have had the opportunity to experience the transformation of the Fury! I don't watch many videos more than once but I look forward to watching this series again and any future episodes of CWM, thank you!
The Fury is a thing of beauty. I have really enjoyed watching the renovations you have done on "The Old Girl". I have to agree with everyone who left comments that its been fun watching you work on her. I will keep tuning in
This whole project makes the Coronation of Elizabeth seem like an Impulse. I cant believe the Craftsmanship unfolding in front of my eyes. It is incredible , and I have been due to the work I did in Many "Upper Crust" body shops, but never anything like this. The explanation regarding the rear side panel, now I wish I could feel those lines . This has become "Art" with a capital A. Thanks all, Bas.
Amazing progress. It’s crazy looking back on a restoration when you get to paint and reassembly, sometimes you wonder how you got through it all! The answer is “you just do it”. Thanks for the great videos, you provide a weekly hour of meditation.
Wow Scott I'm getting so excited to think about you showing a before and after on this classic I can't stand it. You really have brought this beauty back from the scrap yard . Can't wait for the next episode. Cheers from Florida. Hello frankers. 🐩👍
Big Thank you to all you guys, I laughed my ass off tonight with the Dean escapades. Totally Stoked to see some paint going on the Baby. And Scott You got my vote for the Tele Tubby painting outfit. After seeing Scott Sanding at Warp speed, i decided my Coffee just aint doing it no more. As always guys, Thanks for the great vids and entertainment, keep on Rockin.
No matter what you say you are building a show car. Not a trailer queen but a car that will hold her own against others. 🍻 here's to everyone who made this journey possible🍻
The fury looks amazing and it's hard to believe how far she's come. Most ppl I know buy a car project and work super hard on the thing initially only to see fade away. Your commitment to the project is truly amazing!!
Well I was up at 5.30 but the show wasn't on yet. I had to content myself with other 'Not So Good' channels while I waited. Finally it was on and I could eat my breakfast while enjoying the highlight of my week. It's amazing how much this show gets into your blood. I think it's because it's a 'No Bullshit' it is what it is sort of thing that you can really relate to. A pragmatic Canadian 'can do' attitude maybe. Keep it up Scott and agents.
You, must not be from Canada, since I am, do Canadians have a 'can do' attitude? I guess I ask because I grew up here and don't really notice these things.
@@crushingvanessa3277 Yes, I think you Canadians have a lot of similaritys with us Aussies. We like to work hard and we like to party hard and talk rubbish the same as you guys. The English are more problem makers than problem solvers by comparison to both of our countries..
Hello from Mke and Annmarie ! Looking great Scott ! It's been a long journey ! You'll be driving her by spring ! Licks from the puppies, Gunner and Izzy ! It's looking looking like 1960 again !
Excellent job. Amazing you upload every Saturday. Great dog. Great car. Great friends. Your videos, channel and attitudes are refreshing and make me look forward to every lazy Saturday morning I spend watching them. Kudos and congrats and may all the good vibes and attention that will inevitably come your way from this lead to new and wonderful avenues for you to pursue. Salutations from Ireland.
Just think all this hard work will be worth it when you have Dean presenting this on the lawn at Pebble Beach in August, I can see it now, Dean casually smoking a dart from the My Classic Darts, all the while showing the great rubber direct from My Classic Tire to the crowd that is mesmerized by his casual elegance.
I saw that you uploaded this video last night and I was excited but I didn't want to watch it because it was late and I was tired. I wanted to really be able to enjoy it so I waited till this morning to watch it. So glad I did, I look forward each week to see the progress being made of the '60 Plymouth. I've watched this project from the beginning and it's been an amazing trip. My grandfather owned one just like yours, same color and all. I think I was about 14 when he let me drive it down an old country road. I'm so glad your're keeping the toilet bowl on the trunk. Thanks so much for all the great entertainment. You're my favorite YouiTube Channel.
Your perception of form, contours and blending is astounding .I love and envy your knowledge . I want to be an agent apprentice at 71 years old. I had to stop the video to comment. This is like the "super bowl" of enginuity.
Winter- bah! Nice opening shot. The Fury looks great thus far. You've completely understood Frankers and her jealousy. Take good care of your baby. I like the LTD interior blue color. Glad Dean stayed overnight at your house.
Thank you Scott for bringing us into your life with these vids , i look forward all week to see what you guys are doing with the Fury and other shenanigans with Dean . Thanks again brother , standing by for next week 👍
Dean-O, 79 LTD survivor here. That's just the Level 1 switch breakdown. Level 2 is the steering column catching fire because the sliding block contact point setup gets hot from resistance due to the greasy goo buildup in it. You should practice your hit the ground and roll moving car exit this week.
Anticipation!!!! This Fury doesn't know how lucky it is. One, to be save from certain long term decomposition or two from shredding crushing for scrap, only to be used as a part of a Chinese toaster oven. Nope it got a reprieve, in fact we have the DNA from multiple cars. This classic needs to go in a a place of special esteem, and I really don't know what that is. Great job Cold War Motors.
You Guys Rock! A 1960's Plymouth Fury Two - Tone Blue and white. Your Skills are at 100%.That car will turn heads. What a FUN Project,We like Cold War Motors Show.Give Franker's a Treat.CHEERS
I have been following you guys all the way thru these builds and this has been so incredibly amazing to watch how you have brought the Fury back to this point. Kudos to you and your band of Merry men and Frankers. Received the Classic Tire shirt and a decal that I have put on my winter beater and all around driver. Thanks for your explanations and walking us thru what you do. Go Canada!
Love this Fury series! Congratulations on getting it to this point. I love your choice of that beautiful soft oyster white. I can't imagine the amount of work and time you've invested in that car, but it sure will be worth it! Can't wait to see the blue go on next.
I am so impressed. . The body work is top notch. Would never have known that this was spliced together from 2 different Cars. Except for having been with the build from day 1.👍👍
Fury looks awesome with the white paint. She is coming along and is looking whole. Still love your craftsmanship. Love the fix on Dean's car with starting with the screwdriver! Keep it up! :)!
"Screw driver mode" .... way better than that off-on-push switch we kept in store for this kinda winter beaters: no search for a place to easily put it, no drilling in winterbrittle plastic, no wire extensions. Only thing would be the notorious police curiosity in case of a paper-check 😂
Been watching way before this car. I find painting the most gratifying part of a restoration. That Fury is AWESOME! So glad you saved it. Seeing Dean's winter beater brings back memories of my 81 Country Squire. I put over 300,000 trouble free miles on that wagon.
I am completely amazed due to the fact you are not using any filler and or bondo!!!! I'm 45 years old and I have never seen a car recieve that much metal work and not get a shit ton of bondo....WOW!
Great video. The car is looking great. Thanks for sharing this!! It brings back the memories I have of my Dad doing this. I can smell the bondo and lacquer that he used as if it were yesterday..
You know I started a thread on this project over on the H.A.M.B. from the beginning. Those guys have been following along and love the whole thing!! I remember the episode when you dragged it out of that field of horse shit!
I have loved watching every step of this car(s) being brought back from the dead. The white is beautiful Scott. I hope Frankers is getting a kickback she steals the show every time the camera is pointed in her direction. ☮️
More outstanding work on the Fury . Love Dean , no coil , no coil and then looks at the coil wire and laughs !!! Glad he slept on the couch , didn’t really think he’d drive home . Your good friend !!
wow Scott hard to think that POS you pulled out of the horse corral would become my favorite you tube to watch with all the other stuff you have going on I'm blown away that it's been two years and you got the finish in sight. three cars to save one that is so cool to see happen, that was a hell of a lot of splicing going on then the making the quarter that in it's self was just a work of art IMO.
I'm glad I had my dusk mask by my chair. It was getting A little hazy in here of course a beer also as I always drink with you guys. Extraordinary build.
By far this is the best restore show on the net. Started watching this frankinfury from the get go. Great content with a great bunch of friends. I get a kick out of the other content like the "winter beaters, The crummy tire and the old cigs". Just great stuff. cant wait to see this classic finished. Lookin wonderful . You have great bodywork skill.
The progress is awesome, I know how it is when you're a perfectionist and have to try and decide when to say "enough is enough!". I beat my head against the clock all the time because I want to do the best I am capable of and time is not on your side.(contrary to what the Stone's said!) Thanks for sharing the trip with us, Peace from a fellow exhaust fume junkie down in the U.S.!
