The moment someone says that it was not low blow... they are in line with flat earth guys. Its like Usyk on the spot pulled oscar worthy performance. What would be a boxing now, if Kneebois got the belts after losing to joyce, getting schooled by Usyk and just stealing belts with low blow

I've thought about this long and hard, and have come to the firm conclusion that either fury will win, or failing that, Usyk will win. Then again, I could be wrong.

I agree that December 23rd is a no no. As Tyson vs Ngannou is opening Riyadh season I believe Tyson vs Usyk will close the Riyadh season as the closing event has to be huge. This would put the fight early to mid March. Love the podcast Propa.

Love the podcasts fellas. Gotta say though: at around 30 mins when you're talking gas tanks, we've defo seen fury gas. In wilder 2 and 3, the both of them looked absolutely gassed by rnd 5. They both got really sloppy. Fury, being such a good boxer did pull it off of course but for me, part of Usyks strategy is absolutely gonna be exhausting fury - like he does most his opponents.

Fury was gassing in both the 2nd & 3rd Wilder fights. He was breathing heavy in the 2nd fight after 5 rounds because he punch output was higher than usual. And in the 3rd fight he was managing his tempo from the 6th til the 11th when he eventually ended the fight. His engine ain't as good as you believe it to be.

Gotta be on crack to suggest Fury has a better gas tank that Usyk. Just look at how many punches they throw - Fury threw 327 punches in his 12 rounder with Wilder, Usyk threw over 700 at Joshua. It's not even close

Not much to debate. If Fury shows up with form, Usyk loses. If not, Usyk wins.

I think Fury is going to weight in around 270lb. He's going to get heavy to nullify Ngannou in the first 2-3 rounds. Ngannou's only hope is an early KO so he'll give it everything early and Fury will use the weight to smother him like a big sweaty whale, then he'll take Ngannou into those deep waters of rounds 7 onwards and while Ngannou is treading water, Fury will increase the pressure. It's going to be the most demoralising fight of Ngannou's life but that's boxin', eh?

Usyk is 36 (but will likely be 37 by the time the fight happens). Tyson recently turned 35. Also, the fight can’t happen any later than March, apparently, because of Riyadh season.

Fury's hardest fight was the 1st John Mcdermott fight in which Fury lost it was only because the Referee who hated Johm Mcdermott because he got knocked out by his dad, gave it to Fury.

Top chat. On the Usyk/Dubois furore - that wasn't the only low blow Dubois threw and it wasn't the worst, it was just the one that connected. What everyone seems to be ignoring is the interviews Dubois gave in the days before the fight in which he openly said he planned to fight dirty and risk deductions and even disqualification to win the fight.

I think it’s a easy night for Usyk, I think he under preformed against Daniel just to get Fury thinking I can beat him

Absolutely loving this style throwing that in there. Also fascinating the amount of conclusions that say a points decision goes to Tyson. By definition he’ll have been less effective imposing his size. The more size mitigation Usyk can achieve, the greater his odds. If he doesn’t kiss the canvas it means there must be a lot of movement - mobility favors Usyk. If you can’t see Usyk being knocked out, I’d think he’d end up on top but there’s some cognitive dissonance going on there from listening. It’s interesting. Much like Joe Joyce, I think it’s hard for ppl to simply imagine a world Tyson loses. I don’t think it’s impossible to imagine. Cunningham broke all those illusions of him being hurt impossible. Tyson went on to dominate by using his weight very very well, something I think he’s going to try to do with Usyk. but what’s truly different from AJ? That’s the question I’m surprised no one asked. Big giant heavyweights. AJ hits probably a bit harder, Tyson is more of the full package. What is offsetting AJ’s performance from Tyson? And how does Usyk counter that? He won’t outbox Usyk, that we all agree on. So he’s going to rough him up is he? Usyk won’t have a game plan to counter that? And can Usyk endure Tyson clinching and leaning on him while keeping his legs enough to not get caught later? Ppl have tried that with Usyk and sure not as much weight as Tyson has but now it’s just about severity. That grab and clinch stuff works against wilder bc he is such a big guy. Usyk is going to have room to throw short hooks. I actually rate Tyson’s ability for his body to take damage very high ironically but not from a habitual onslaught from a guy like Usyk. That’ll be 1 answer and I’m sure he’ll have more, better ones. Cunningham didn’t have that kind of footwork as I’m sure anyone worth their salt might reference this fight. I see this as a pendulum that will come down to that intersection. Tyson will be down in the cards but slowly Usyk’s legs will go more and more . He might even flash knockdown Tyson exiting a clinch mid fight. But it’s going to cost him his ability to hop on that bike championship rounds. Will he gas early enough for Tyson to land heavier? I think Tyson is aging athletically as a heavyweight worse than Usyk is. And for that reason, I think Usyk wins a very very very close fight where Tyson is especially finishing strong. And if I’m wrong, it’s Tyson KO’ing Usyk in the 9th. Probably wrong but that’s the fun. Just glad they are finally lacing up. Thanks again for the pod was a great listen

Im a strange boxing fan i always judge on character, and it rarely fails me. I think usyk is the more dangerous animal here myself. And that is largley been exposed by furies antics out the ring. He shown himself up to me shook. Usyk by point or stoppage!

usyk has looked so good in the heavyweight division because of the slow moving heavyweight’s he has fought so far, usyk isn’t a world class heavyweight he’s just beat 3 standard heavyweights of this era, they were slow had no tank and let’s be honest compared to fury all British level, fury will win this fight and everyone will see that he isn’t in the same class , don’t get me wrong at crusier weight usyk is the man, but not heavyweight.

Fury on Cunningham the smaller boxer: “What I’m good at - boxing, moving, slipping and sliding - I couldn’t do against Cunningham because he was quicker than me. “It was like he was a better boxer all round than me, and he’d knocked me over even though he was a light puncher."

I think it will be December 23rd. I listened to Frank on Talk sport and he kept going on about the Saudi season ending in March and it has to be done before then. I think if Fury gets through Ngannou injury and cut free it will get announced for 23rd December very shortly afterwards that will then give them wiggle room in case someone gets injured in the build up. So if either Uysk or Fury get injured in camp there's time to heal up and re arrange the date before the Saudi season ends.

At the end of day , Even Usyk can only respond to the ref's judgement . If the ref hadnt called it low and given him all that time , who is to say Usyk wouldnt have been up . Instead Dubois quit.

I do listen to a lot of these boxing channels and it's often discussed about how many hard fights boxers have had and how a fighter deteriorates. But isn't it more likely most of the impacts on the brain occur during training and sparing? Seems to me for every competitive round a boxer likely does a lot more rounds sparring.

I dont know how he can win, but i believe in Usyk. Mb we all will be laughing at this after the fight. Usyk knew thet he gonna fight TF from the start of his hw journey, i think he was learning him all this time. In his last Wilder fight TF was very slow, both of them were moving in a slow motion by the end of the fight, idk why ppl think that TF has endless gass tank

i think one big thing we’ve been ignoring as boxing fans maybe out of a want to see fury lose is that fury is not the only fighter showing his age a little here. neither man is far removed from his prime but i do believe usyk is showing some cracks himself. he looked much slower in the second aj fight and there were things you can see in the dubois fight where he was there to be hit.

I think Fury is more likely to win this but Usyk has the better gas tank, he throws 700 punches in a fight granted almost all of them miss put but he still throws that many. Whereas Fury doesn't throw close to that however he is close to two as accurate as Usyk.

One of the things people don't take into account / don't know but Usyk's accuracy is shockingly bad against defensively mediocre competition. 21% punches landed against Joshua. Whereas Fury is in the high 30%.
