Wow. Head spinning. I use sheet metal mode (with SVGs) to create rings and bracelets with no issues because I am using a simple circle or ellipse. I extrude the SVG directly on the unfolded body then refold it and delete the flange. I tried using cones in the past and now I understand why I couldn't do it right. I'm probably going to review this video a billion times to get my workflow correct. Thanks!
Yeah a lot of people get this geometry incorrect :) I have read in some places that there will be an update to Emboss in Fusion replicating the workflow in this video, but no timeline on then it will be done.
@@KristianLaholm An improved emboss most likely would not help me in my use unless it creates new bodies just like extrude. I need to be able to manipulate those bodies then combine them with the target.
@@KristianLaholm I use sheet metal as a warping/envelope tool (similar to CorelDraw/Illustrator envelope tool). If Emboss allowed me to create new bodies I would be using it on ring and bracelet designs. I have a few videos up on the end result of using the sheet metal technique.
If you bend the vector file outside of Fusion you only need a tangent plane and can then emboss the sketch. (the sheet metal fiddling is for making it all in Fusion)
