Guys, VLSI industry is getting automated a lot by software companies like synopsys/Cadence. As long as softwares improve, we will not need more engineers to do it. So this video abt VLSI is good industry is utter nonsense. The salary growth in VLSI vs Software clearly shows software is king. Dont fall into trap of VLSI being king.
Hi Naveen thanks for a different perspective, but dont you think you are too late to comment as automation started from late 90s or your too early to think that we are in age where we already developed a AI as per scifi movie... By this analogy software industry will die first as developing website ,app etc which are in code is easy for and super AI (which presently dont exist) then making to do routing in between billion of transistor in between 1/10000 of human hair width of space , it could be only possible the day AI can think of its own like a expert EC engineer... Moreover if we ever able to do so no body other then a EC engineer can code this as we need a very deep understanding of anything to automate it .. And yes EC people need coding and thats why we have c and DS in out syllabus ...and naveen if you ever used cadence you might be knowing how primitive stage we are still compared to your comment .....
Hello naveen sai,You are totally wrong. Vlsi is a vast field. Sand to a full custom ic there lots of steps so vlsi engineers will be always needed now and near future. Global semiconductor shortage crisis moment vlsi companies are trying to develop better Al as well as unlock the software capabilities. In every electronics device there must be chip. So the necessity of electronics device in our regular life won't decrease . Tesla is bringing electric vehicle so there will need a lots of chip.
Hi, my name is Yash and i am VLSI engineer. Working in Intel, Bangalore. I will definitely tell that VLSI is the best field in terms of career growth. Future of VLSI is very bright in india . And i am very much proud to be VLSI engineer. Thanks for spreading awareness my friend 😃
I worked for 4 years in both IT industry and VLSI industry, as per my observation goes the process to bring out a product in VLSI industry is more complex than that of an IT industry.
I did my bachelor's in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and now I am going abroad to do my master's in VLSI. I have never studied this subject in my undergrad. Although it's a new thing for me, I am accepting this challenge.😎
I have 3 yr exp in IT industry. Quit my IT job just for my passion in semiconductors and VLSI and today is my last day in IT. Looking forward to enter VLSI industry.
@@prashantpandey4626 I did 6 months training in PD domain on weekends from an institute in banglore. Monday to Friday I do office work and in weekend I attended training course. I'm restarting my career and switching to vlsi as a fresher. So I will be starting along with freshers and my experience in IT won't count.
Bro i am also electronic final year student and I am currently doing my major project of engineering in vlsi domain with open source eda tool(software like iverilog, yosys and ubuntu) bro i like to work and gain skill in vlsi field but I get little confuse when I heard that many of clg frd get place in it companies with good package then it cause frustration and confusion among myself you know bro why many of us electronic engineering are not going for vlsi field because not only they are lacking in the basic concepts of electronic and circuit but also their is not a single channel on the RU-vid who could guide us in vlsi project, and tell us what the courses or knowledge we need have or what are the opportunity in it and one more thing bro which I observed in vlsi field is that company which promote the employee only when he/she has the unique skil for that many of us don't know what to do whereas as there many RU-vid channel which doing great work in providing free coding course to gain coding skill and also guiding through their placement as well so bro it is my humble request to you that pls guide me and also help me in project so that I can learn many skill pls guide me as your small brother
Hi alex thanks for this detail view... Yes sure i will try my level best to guide you all.... Being a newbie i too have constraints... But try my best to bring expert talk in my channel in future.... Stay with me keep motivating with likes , comments like this and obviously sharing content with your friends ...
@@whyRD yes bro i har already share to my frd about future in vlsi domain thx you so much for reply me and hope you will guide me in my project my project name is implementation of physical design of 8/4 sign divider which I am doing with open-source eda tools and I am getting problem in writing module code for it other code for divider which I had search through internet is in behaviour modelling but as you known it will only give simulation result and it cannot be synthesis to give me netlist file pls guide me writing the code in gate, data flow or structure level modelling Bro pls tell me other medium to contact you and send you my project detail
Bro i am very sorry , as i am currently working in the backend , and need to recall everything to help you.. But there is strict time constrain for that.
In GEC goa new course B .E Electronics in VSLI design and technology is introduced . Is it better the electronic and telecommunications? Should I go for it ? Pls help ..
IF you going for same college, and sure about creating a career in VLSI then this could be good course.. again this is new plus inam not sure about the college too... If ece of this college doing good for earlier batch ... This new course will also do great
What about specialising in embedded system? Like I'm interested in IoT and have one year internship experience too.. so is it good for me to specialize in embedded system or in vlsi?
Bro what is good feild analog layout design or physical desine And what is main important for making chip What is the use of physical desine and analog layout design
Physical design is layout design right? Or am i missing something... All steps are very very important in chip making... So you can get immense success in any domain provided you love your job and hate your comfort zone.
Hello sir, Ive completed my BE in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. If I do mtech in Power Electronics and do a learning course of VLSI outside will I get an opportunity in good core company? If yes, sir can you please suggest me best vlsi learning courses in banglore
Any role in VLSI is great as a starter... See othe option more close to design ,verification if not then take up this... And job roles are not so rigit and everybody do some or every work if need arises ...
I AM FROM NIT PATNA DOING BTECH FROM ECE IS IT EASY FOR ME TO BE PLACED IN VLSI OR I SHOULD DO MTECH BUT I HAVE NO INTEREST IN DOING MTECH I WANT TO WORK IN A COMPANY
Let me empower you to get your own answer , first search what exactly vlsi people do ? And the try to find do any of those things are used in EVs or not
I am interested in signal processing, digital circuits but I don't enjoy analog circuit, EDC . Is VLSI right field for me....? Can I enter her without cracking GATE and doing mtech...?? I need your guidance
If dont wanna prepare for gate, then try to enter vlsi industry directly... You could fit into signal processing part of vlsi industry of digital design... But yes you need to ask yourself do this circuits power voltages ... FFT matlab coding excite you or not ?
@@whyRD only fft, matlab, coding excites me but power circuit don't.can I enter by doing online courses..? If yes, then which one should I do...any suggestion bro
Hi somu, you meed EDC(Device physics), electrical network(specially rlc circuits),analog digital circuit. And in advance knowledge verilog, digital ic design or analog ic design .. And little hand on experience of any EDA tool
@whyRD I need your valuable suggestion. Currently I'm working in SMT mobile manufacturing industry since last three years. But I planned myself to switch to IT field so I started learning web development courses. I have given three months to coding. But from past one or two weeks i have heard enough of VLSI and now I'm very much confused about my career. Please help me out.
Hi Prashant , as per me career is not decided by this approach.. You cant keep on moving due to news regarding that industry.... You need to know which type of work you love .... Getting into VLSI industry not easy and if you just come because it have future then it will be more tough for you.. So first take step backward ,think what you actually love and then move forward.. As in any industry if you have interest imply you can learn skill easily... Help you to earn a lot....
Yes it is possible.. One option is write a ec gate paper and do MTech from vlsi branch .. Or there are many branches in vlsi aligned who accept cs gate paper too...
Hi sir, my gate score is not that good so if in case I don't get NITs for mtech. I have to go for IT industry... But i want to make a career in VLSI industry..how can i switch my domain from IT to vlsi if i want to in a year or so?
Hi Megha ,hope you will make it through... Still if dont get it then no worry join IT industry as coding too is a prerequisite to ecome a good VLSI engineers .. And they side by side resume gate preparation , and it would possible as you are not starting from scrach but have the realtime experience of writing a gate exam and preparing for it.
I have provided them on my top 10 course for vlsi.... Those are enough for concpets... To get more practical knowledge you can search for paid courses in udemy
Hi sajjad , really a unique comment , and appreciate your love for technology. I am probably wrong but in conventional way , you wont be able to make a career in VLSI.. but thanks to NEP and many changing attitude you can try some unconventional approach... First of all we need physics and maths(10+2) level.. And then keep on learning through NPTEL getting certificates... But again easy way is do you 10+2 again from science stream ,chk out new NEP (new education policy) also .
I am from Bangladesh. Completed my BSc in EEE from a renowned Private university. I had both VLSI-I and VLSI-II as my course both theory and LAB. Any advice for me?
Hi Dony, in am extremely sorry, as i dont have much of knowledge about Bangladesh, may i know is Bsc is same as engineering graduation there ? And yes you can start applying for opening in your country if you have confidence with your concepts or you try to get master form best university of your country
@@whyRD yes BSc means Bachelor in Science. Fresh graduate. I don't want to pursue Masters rather looking for hands on corporate experience in this industry. And I wanna do research about various VLSI sector. Can you help me out about recent trending vlsi topics I can start studying and researching on?
I dont have much knowledge about this.. But any college of Bengaluru have a added benifit , as they are very close to industry , so i saw very great placement records .
Hi , Dada I am from IIEST, Shibpur , ETC Dept. B.Tech, last year and I have already got an offer from DxCorr Design. Inc (In VLSI Domain , specifically in memory design). and I have got offer from some software companies giving much more salaries than DxCorr. I'm an Electronics Guy by heart but now I'm confused 😅 Is choosing DxCorr over other software companies will be good for me?
Hi Sudipta, congratulations 🎉 tricky situation but as you by heart electronic engineer choose vlsi job... Hope salary wont be too much low.. As otherwise if you chose software then for sure in 1 year you will forget all you essential EC concepts and need to work hard for a switch..
@@sudiptamandal1518 congratulation my friend. I worked as a memory design engineer in synopsys and in Intel too. I will tell you only 1 thing is to continue working into VLSI field and dxcorr is good company. Future of memory is great . Don't worry about salary. For now you can focus on your career 🙂
I'm a ee 4th year guy barely qualify gate EE what should I do ? write gate EE next year ? Or will join some training institute ? Is again writing gate with ee good ? as in vlsi we don't need the core subjects which we have learn in EE ?
Yes i think joining a training institute would good idea ... Initial pay will be lower but after those you can attract attractive salaries.... Just before joing training inst. try to revise device physics only mosfet and genral digital/analog circuits ...
Almost all the VLSI company have internships vacancies, trick os that you need to apply for those... Try to connect with HR of those companies in likedin ... And you can even share that you need internship with summery of your skill and tag as many HR as you know ... So if college is not helping you for internship you need to help yourself
Hii this is vinay kumar.currently I'm pursuing my btech final year.i'm planning masters in vlsi design.in want to know basics in vlsi design.could you please help me in that.
