Holy crap. I can't believe it's already been 4 years since he announced that he was gonna make a movie. And now, here I am, 4 years later, excited to see it, having heard that it's finally done. I am just totally amazed right now.

Dude, I just want to say how happy for you I am. You're incredibly talented and the fact that you pretty much can't keep the smile off your face in this video shows how excited you are about the possibility of making a career out of this. We all know how much you love films and I'm certain that whatever comes out of this script will be phenomenal, and you're probably the only guy who I trust to get this kinda thing right (apart from maybe SomeRandomGuy) So, can't wait to see this! So it's been a while now that I have felt that James was not as much invested in AVGN and his gaming videos anymore, and has kept to it similarly to an office job you dislike but can't leave. This video pretty much confirmed it for me.

I was only a sophomore in HS when this was announced now I'm going to become a college sophomore this Sept and going to the Chicago premiere Aug 6.

One of things I enjoy about your films is that whether its in character as the Nerd or through the various reviews of movies and genres, what I find is that you seem to truly understand the nuance of entertainment. You always hit the nail right on the head because you look at the details and appreciate them for that. Your editing style is also very detailed despite any budget. I bought the set of Nerd DVD's last year, cause I do support the artists who deserve it.

If the AVGN Movie becoming popular when it comes out, I'm going to do a parody or a spoof of the AVGN Movie using GoAnimate characters. This is going to be better than "Airplane" one of the best spoof movies of the 1980's, and it is also to be more than "GoAnimate: The Movie". It's going to be called "4 O'Clock Game: The Movie" featuring "Action 52", the worst NES game ever made. I'm going to write a script and I might be coping James' script from the AVGN Movie to use it with GoAnimate. Ann is going to be in there along with Joyce and the rest. More on the way soon.

take all the time you need on the movie james. an avgn movie is worth 3 seasons of the avgn show.

Movie comes out. Video game based on movie comes out. AVGN reviews his video game based on his movie which is based on his web series. World implodes. Bring on the end of the world, James! I can't wait for this to be made!

oh man. seeing how it's almost been a year since this video.. it only means we're closer to the film!

I hope all this works out for you! I've been big fan for a while, and even if it doesn't make it into theaters, it will still make it out there. This could really get you into the movie world! And of course if you ever get to where you have the chance to make it bigger, you can always bring up your fanbase. I'm sure that by now things are about settled and being worked out, but if you ever need a writer, extra (or maybe main) character, an idea source, or whatever, I'd love to help in some way.

My hope is that it is James' vision and James, (with his friends,) alone. He deserves to make a movie that is HIS.

I can't believe that the movie is finally coming out been following it since the beginning and can't wait!!!! Going to the Toronto screening!!!!

This movie must be made at all costs!!! And I hope there will be an action figure line to promote it. "AVGN action figure with snap-on battle armor", which would be accoutrements worn in the "Wizard and Mario 3" and 'NES Accesories" reviews. Maybe even a Guitar Guy fig with a sound chip? As everyone has said before, keep up the good work!!!

ADVICE FOR MOVIE: There is a musical duo that together collaborate on youtube videos known as Rhett & Link they have made a movie and it is available to rent on youtube but not seen in theatres. Sadly people outside the US(such as me) can't see it but RU-vid Rentals may open some new doors for you.

I think it will be about the nerd travel around the united states to search where they buried the ET atari 2600 carts. It makes sense because the movie will be about ET for Atari 2600.

4 years for 2hours movie it's crazy

i really hope you go in to movie making(i mean see your movies in theaters),you have a really really strong and solid backbone,and all the references...and id watch the avgn movie

It could go one of two ways. 1) Take everything (or most) he has complained about and put it into a huge mess of a game. 2) Take everything he has complained about and have the game completely avoid every single one of those, therefore making the perfect video game. I choose option 2...

I really do hope that James will make it as a major movie director. I do see great potential in him, especially within the horror & comedy genres. And if he ever does get the time, I would like to see him reboot the Resident Evil movie series the way it should be, unlike Paul Anderson, who is now the new Uwe Boll!

i've been watching the empire of dreams documentary about the making of the Star Wars trilogy, and to my surprise, James looks like a younger George Lucas without the beard.

Very curious to see how this movie would play out and be like. Also once a month avgn is fine with me, gives me something to look forward each month and gives you time to think up the next episode and make each one great. I tell you one thing though, I would definitely go see an avgn movie, that would be awesome.

Nice! When I first saw the headline, I wondered how you make the nerd into a cohesive narrative. The Wayne's World analogy was perfect.

James, you always have your fans, even if you retire the nerd, we will still wactch every single thing you do.

Idea for the funny horror movie mentioned, or another if you finish the one that you're thinking of: Super Mecha Robo Death Christ locks the Nerd up in his house/apartment and nobody can save him. Just came up with that on the spur of the moment, sometimes the best ideas do.

I think James Rolfe can produce something that millions of people would find to be entertaining. What I do question is whether or not he can gain the financial support needed to make his vision a reality. The guy has a talent though and his cut-throat humor is certainly the source of many good laughs. Good luck AVGN.

Supposedly, only a small portion of the movie is supposed to take place in the Nerd's liar. In the video, James said it's like in the helms of Wayne's World, as it takes the characters of Wayne and Garth out of the basement they film their public access show, and put them in them in their own unique universe. He plans on doing the same thing with the Nerd.

Obviously he's not going to do that. It'll be on DVD and eventually blu-ray, and digital downloads. But we'll have to buy it to see it. And I have no gripes with that because it's such a big problem that he'll want to gain something in the end, so that he can continue with making new film projects. I worked on the movie as VFX Coordinator, so believe me, it's something special, something more than a simple RU-vid or TGTWG (no offence to those guys, I love them.) I hope you'll like it :D It is not a masterpiece, but it was fun.

Can't wait to see the outcome, you have my full support dude :D hope it does come to cinemas worldwide, so me and my equally nerdy friends can see it here in the UK :)

It would be awesome to finally see the Nerd as an actual character than some guy that goes berserk because of bad games. Though it would be really cool that when James was to finally retire the nerd, he was to make the movie as an effective ending to his series.

I can pretty much imagine the movie being like a R-rated version of Captain N: The Game Master, I can't really imagine it being like anything else.

I came to this channel because I enjoyed the comedy in all of his videos, and stayed her because he's a genuine and sincere guy who loves movies and knows what he's talking about.

I REALLY hope AVGN gets his dream to be a film maker ^_^ Anything made by him I would watch, as I have confidence he can make something good. Just imagine, a horror film made by him? Epic.

@SiGhast: It's one thing if James was planning on a small TV or video release. But it's incredibly difficult to get a movie released in theaters. It's not a matter of James cancelling it, it's a matter of if he can get it in theaters(and that's a big IF) It costs alot of money to get a movie into theaters, and he's using most of his money for equipment, what about advertising? there's just so much James hasn't seemed to have considered. It looks like he's in way over his head.

I could see this movie in a theatrical release just killing in the box office. We all know James is a great director, so I feel like if he's given the opportunity, and enough money, he'll make one hell of a fucking movie!

@overtkill7 my bad i meant like it was before, 2 a month. that's not little time for editing a ten minute episode, even if you only have an hour or two at your disposal per day. I and many others love his episodes like they are now. I'm just saying, I have doubts of him making a good movie judging from what i've seen like f.e. the action scenes and acting and fans get all hyped just because they're fans and might get let down by a b-movie that they missed 2 years of good avgn episodes for.

It would be cool to see the Nostalgia Critic since they are still enemies as sugested in the last scene of their review of coming out of our shells. Lke, the last scene of this film appears the nostalgia critic and ends with a cliffhanger.
