8:20 YES, YOU nail it here with snap back. its also the limitation of natural hair, that its floppy. BUT most sellers avoid mentioning it, while its authenticate it being all natural. Blended brush will have a snap, its the best compromise.

I've bought two sets after Vee's previous Video . -the same 8 sable brush set reviewed . -the six short handle sable travel brush in the white faux leather pouch . I am overall happy with my order , quick shipping , general quality of the products for what i've paid . my main complain will be about the round brush shape , among the 9 rounds brushes i've received none have a good point , 2 have an Ok point , the rest is just bad and the smaller in size the worst it is (wich is pretty inconvenient for details ) in general hair bristle looks thicker ,messy and badly shaped compared to my other brushes (my standard being Raphaël) at night under LED lights the bristle hairs have a unsual "shine" that only my synthetic brushes have , none of my natural brushes have that "shine" . I can't tell if the hairs are natural or synthetic or natural with a special treatment . concerning the "leather pouch" i'm positive it's faux leather like yours it's too long for the brushes , I did use scisors to correct that . (that's why I'm positive when i say it's faux leather because i did burn the cut out , it's melting with a heavy plastic smell ) that's it for my pet peeves and concerned . do i regret buying those Fuumuui brushes ? Absolutely not . I was looking for brushes "not to precious to use" the travel brush in the pouch are really handy , and it's hard to find a travel set with a large flat like this one .

I like those mixed cheap hair brushes from royal and langnickel better than the expensive synthetics, my real hair brushes never loose their point, these / fuumuui have kept it for 2 years now. And I use the all the time.

Thanks Vee, you have been very thorough in this review. Brush making is a complicated task. Establish brands (Rosemary, DaVinci, Tintoretto, Raphael) are all hand made, with skilled workers who train for years (and earn decent wages in good working conditions) I cannot understand how they can make a big set (of so-called Sable / Kolinski Hair!) for such little money. Quality control seems to be an issue. As tempting as it might be, I skip these. Quality rather than quantity -and a good conscience- is what I will stick to. Thanks again for your review

Also would you wear a fur coat? Why kill an animal for a paintbrush? It's abhorrent. They are often sk*nned a live you could do a video on the fur paintbrush industry. Look into it. Many are trapped in the wild and the others are kept in cages with no floors and nowhere to sleep. All piled on top of each other. Are you proud of yourself for making some paintings using their bodies?

I use the goat mops from pro-arte. Holds a decent point and they are cheap although at first it loses a couple hairs. I’m saving up for some proper Da Vinci Quills or Raphael. I also don’t recommend the Sablesque. I have some art secrets goat-squirrel blend which I use for trees.

i have the proarte goats mop as well, definitely another good option for real animal hair that holds water similar to squirrel. same here, i would avoid the sablesque. i didn’t like it

I love the screw cap I have some without it and they always fall apart when I am swishing or even painting.

Thank you for the very informative view on the brushes. I've learnt something about the natural and synthetic differences, had no idea how to tell them apart if not for the brush label. I'm new to watercolours (mainly oils) and this has been an eye opener. Cheers!

Very thorough and thoughtful review of multiple brush options. As a beginner getting started and going through the trial-and-error process, I'm partial to the quills myself. They seem multi-purpose utilitarian and durable.

Thanks for sharing this wonderful informational video with us. I have got the Fuumuui 4 brush travel set & really love 💕 how it works for me. I bought them mainly because they were the type that screwed open & closed instead of just snapping together. I definitely need to check out the mop brush that they make. 🥰

I already own the 8 set, they re not kolinsky but defintively some kind of sable, excellent value, no brainer at that price. I ll try the squirrel mop, seems also great value.

Excellent review, Vee! I have the round travel brush selection and I love it. I feel they are more "real" than this last travel set you reviewed, but mine are the original snap-in-only set so they could be different now. Plus a different set altogether, so there's that. Regardless, a good value.

could you do a dry brush test using all natural hair brush? but without the usual drying of the brush. Someone said its easier to do dry brush effect using all natural hair, so long as its not dripping wet. that would make it very versatile.

i wouldn't say it's easier. i'm able to do dry brush effects with both natural hair and synthetics alike. i think it just comes down to how well you can control your brush.

I bought a travel set of both sable and squirrel and prefer the squirrel. Although they look very similar they don't act in the same way. The squirrel holds more water and seems more like a natural brush. The sable holds less water and doesn't handle the paint the same, so they've become my gouache brushes. Brushes tend to be expensive here in New Zealand, I guess because of shipping costs, so I find these are a good price for what you get.

After your first video, I got the travel set of 4 and I had a previous one of 3 round brushes. The two size 8 round seem to be made of kolinsky sable and I use them at home too. They also compare well to the Da Vinci Maestro 1535 that I own. But they are soooo affordable. Thanks 🖌

I've used mine for perhaps 10 paintings now and I must say that it's growing on me. The brushes maintain a good point and hold a lot of water/paint. I would say it's relatively good but it's a lot softer than a taklon so that takes a bit of getting used to. I have not, however, used the Rosemary and Co. seconds brushes so I have no basis to compare if they do actually are sable hair or not.

I purchased the two sets you showed @ 3:12 after watching your last Fuumuui video. I received an identical duplicate size 16 cat tongue. I purchased the 2nd set to get the size 9. I have tried contacting Fuumuui since then and have not received a single response. I even reached out to their customer service through Amazon though I ordered the sets directly. I like the brushes but am very disappointed with the customer service. Even if it is an error on the website, they could have told me.

@@PaintinHiding Interesting! I have never received any reminders from Jackson's Art before! Initially I found it a little annoying then later amusing because it was a little ungrammatical. Recently, I got interested in Tiny watercolor and left a bunch of orders in a shopping cart. The website was so aggressive it sent me daily reminders, together with a 10% discount code. I'm so going to do that on other websites now. Lol

So how do the squirrel brushes compare to the Tintoretto brush that you have? The Tintoretto is also very soft and behaves a lot like squirrel brushes, but it’s synthetic.

i have a tintorretto synthetic squirrel regular brush and a pure squirrel travel brush. i’d say the squirrel mop shown in this video is very much like real squirrel. the tintoretto synthetic doesn’t really feel like pure squirrel for me personally but that may be because i have it in the small size. i’ve heard people with larger sizes say they like the performance.
